22/05/2026: We had a very pleasant lunch on the terrace. The welcome was friendly and efficient. The set menu was tempting enough that we didn't want to stray too far from the à la carte menu, which was equally appealing. But time was short, so we'll definitely be back for the menu. The set menu: yellow tomato gazpacho as a starter, followed by hake with vegetable gyozas on a creamy carrot purée. And to finish, a strawberry tiramisu sprinkled with pistachios. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

30/05/2026: We visited this inn for the traditional mus tournament. I had attended a communion celebration there many years ago, but I hadn't been back since. I knew of its reputation, but I hadn't had the chance to really experience the place. From the moment we arrived, what struck us most was the quality of the welcome: a genuine smile, friendliness, and constant attention to the guests. As for the food, everything was in place for a wonderful experience: simple, generous, homemade cuisine, and above all, the essential ingredient was there: delicious flavor. Throughout the meal, the staff discreetly and professionally ensured that everything ran perfectly. This is an establishment that upholds the values ​​of traditional hospitality, where you truly feel welcome. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

I've eaten there several times and tried all the dishes on the menu; they're all very good, not to mention the very attractive prices for such high-quality ingredients. One of my favorite restaurants in Bayonne!

21/05/2026: Nice little restaurant, lunch on the terrace overlooking the square, simple, efficient, and inexpensive lunch menu. Very pleasant staff, very good food, although the Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing, but the presentation was original. The suckling pig and the small salad of baby squid and shrimp were excellent...

22/05/2026: A truly wonderful place. A very comprehensive menu with set menus and individual dishes. A superb dinner that allowed me to recover after a scorching day on the Camino de Santiago (by bike). Here, the staff are genuinely welcoming, offering helpful advice and attentive service without being pushy. A beautiful, shaded terrace out back, a relaxed atmosphere, and a well-chosen (and discreet) musical selection. A must-try. Jean-Luc T.

17/05/2026: A warm welcome, delicious products and dishes, a beautiful place

03/05/2026: My review concerns the new Henri IV since its reopening in October. We were used to coming as a family until now and wanted to see what the new owners had created. Inside, the decor is more refined; the kitschy, easily recognizable portraits of dear Henri IV are gone, and it's brighter. As for the menu, we were used to the garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) and were therefore a little disappointed that it wasn't on the menu, but we quickly forgot this detail because the meal was delicious from start to finish. For my starter, I had asparagus, which was very good; the Parmesan cheese added a real touch of something special. For my main course, I had the lasagna, which was extremely good, fragrant, with a multitude of flavors. Finally, homemade tiramisu for dessert, which was just as good! In short, I loved it, but I hope the restaurant manages to stand out because it's not the only one offering dishes with local ingredients, but without the little touch of the old Henri IV and its rustic dishes.

12/05/2026: I used to like this place; the people were respectful and friendly. But today, for some reason, we were invisible for ten minutes. A woman came to ask what we wanted and then left before we could say anything. After another fifteen minutes, we left, still invisible. All we got back was a bad smell of fried food on our clothes and a bitter taste.

17/05/2026: We had a delicious lunch. Very good quality, excellent preparation. The hamburger ("Bear") and the fish (today there was hake) are exceptional. One of the waiters also spoke Spanish and we managed to understand each other well. We had lunch on the terrace; the atmosphere was good, and the birdsong and the tranquility of the wonderful green landscape helped make the meal even more delicious.

02/05/2026: Great restaurant. We came without a reservation, but it's fine in the off-season. I imagine it must be a different story in peak season. The dishes are excellent, the cooking perfectly executed. I ordered the octopus, which was incredibly tender! We'll definitely be back.

21/05/2026: A memorable 3-night stay. The room we stayed in was exceptionally beautiful, decorated with taste and refinement. The hotel boasts an incredible swimming pool, sauna, and Nordine bath. We also enjoyed an exceptional couples massage. The cleanliness of the premises—room, common areas, and grounds—was impeccable. And what can we say about the Michelin-starred restaurant? We give it 5 stars; it's simply an explosion of flavors for the palate and a feast for the eyes. Simply perfect. A huge thank you also to the entire team, who were incredibly attentive and always had a kind and friendly word. Thank you, Mr. Ibarboure, for this wonderful stay. We won't share any photos; we'll let you come and admire this enchanting place for yourselves.
