28/08/2026: We arrived without a reservation at 1 p.m. and received a warm welcome despite the August crowds. The meal was very reasonably priced for the Arcachon Bay area (a rare find), and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

28/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! The welcome, the service, the staff—everything was top-notch. The products are high quality; try the homemade bread, worthy of a fine bakery. From appetizer to dessert, everything was excellent, the portions were generous, and the service was quick. We tried the tricandilles, a Bordeaux specialty worth discovering, which the chef made us appreciate. A little tip: remember to make a reservation.

22/08/2026: For lunch, they offered a set menu for €21, including a main course and dessert. The main course was a generous portion: a pasta salad with grated vegetables and a Thai-inspired dressing, followed by a completely indulgent dessert 😋: warm doughnuts with salted caramel. The beer, which we enjoyed, was locally sourced and had a low alcohol content. Perfect for us. The owner was confident in his choices and readily took the time to chat with his customers. A very good restaurant. Highly recommended.

15/08/2026: Excellent pizzas, and a special mention to the owner who refunded us for one pizza because he thought it was undercooked. Frankly, I was embarrassed, but he was very persuasive, and we left with the pizza and our money back! The pizza was perfectly edible, but above all, I found the gesture very classy and so rare. Well done!

24/07/2026: The pizzas are excellent, the dough is perfect, a real bread dough like the Italians know how to make. The owner is very friendly and efficient. A very good place.

23/07/2026: An address chosen at random, but sometimes chance works out well. It's a super friendly, welcoming, and warm place where good humor and kindness reign. Ideal for an evening to unwind, or simply to have a great time. Plus, the tapas are absolutely excellent!!!

22/07/2026: This was our second visit to Hestau. If you're looking for a warm welcome in a friendly atmosphere, with good products and great value for money, this is the perfect place! We'll definitely be back!

25/08/2026: Coming from Reims, we stopped at the Mercure in Bordeaux Lac, not far from the Cottage du Lac restaurant. An excellent experience, a very good restaurant with delicious and refined cuisine, using quality ingredients. The dishes were well-prepared, the service pleasant, and the staff competent and friendly. We had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this restaurant. Jocelyne and Bruno Colaone

21/08/2026: Meh. A chanterelle purée with the meat was odd. There were four of us... the ice cream was changed in the dessert without us even asking... not at all what we expected, we won't be back.

08/08/2026: I ordered a Camembert and it came out with a small cockroach walking all over it 😳 and to make it worse, staff was initially not apologetic at all when I brought this up. I wouldn’t dine here - not hygienic!

14/06/2026: The food was good, the service just okay – the staff weren't smiling or attentive, perhaps a bit understaffed. The atmosphere was ordinary, even though the setting was nice. Overall, the price was high at €60 per person including aperitifs but without wine.

11/09/2026: We visited this wonderful restaurant back in April and weren't disappointed again today! Even though we arrived a few minutes before noon, and via the terrace rather than the main entrance, the owner and his wife gave us and our dogs a warm welcome. The service was, once again, quick, efficient, and reliable. The food was incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. All in all, a restaurant we will definitely visit again and highly recommend. Everything about it is just perfect!

09/08/2026: ★★☆☆☆ Good food, but unfortunately a very uncomfortable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we repeatedly felt that we were being judged for not ordering enough. We were five people and initially ordered two mezze to have with our drinks. The waitress made sure we understood that this was not enough for five — even though we clearly explained that it was only for the aperitif and that we would order more afterwards. When we then ordered five mezze and a hot dish, we explained that we wanted to order more later rather than have everything arrive at once. We were told again, this time by the chef/owner, that this was “too little” for five people, and that if we ordered later there might be more waiting time. We did order more afterwards, and in the end actually spent more than we would have with the set menu, drinks not included. The food was good and we were served very quickly — perhaps too quickly, as we were out of the restaurant after around 1h15. But at these prices, the overall experience felt rushed and, most importantly, we left with the feeling that we had been a nuisance rather than welcomed guests. Good Lebanese food, but unfortunately the service and atmosphere completely spoiled the experience. A real shame.

14/09/2026: A pleasant surprise for a Saturday evening on the terrace, away from the tourist crowds. We tried three types of original tapas with lovely flavor combinations and a very good dessert. It's a nice change from the usual platters. There's also a good little wine list, not to mention the warm and efficient service from the waiters. We had a lovely evening and we'll be back!
