A true French country. A superb and authentic mountain meal. Thank you, keep it up. Returned June 2026. Nothing but praise, and always the same, just as excellent.

05/07/2026: Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. I'm back to share my experience with you, this time at a village restaurant. We arrived at 8:00 PM. Initially, everything suggested we would have a pleasant experience. However, at 8:15 PM, it was time to order: the waitress had just taken our order. At that moment, we had no idea that an hour later, our table would still be empty (there were only four of us). Indeed, at 9:30 PM, the first two courses were served, after we made two comments to the waitresses (which were very understandable, by the way). But that wasn't all. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the third course, but be warned: the waitress arrived with a bull fillet, while we had ordered fried carp… So, we had to add another 5 minutes to get the actual last course. And you can add another 5 minutes to get the bowl of rice we were missing. And of course, to top it all off, the fourth and final course arrived 20 minutes after everything else. The bottom line: between our orders being taken and the arrival of the last course, 1 hour and 45 minutes had passed. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the waitress, she explained that we weren't the only ones, but that the situation was exceptional. And I can confirm this, as my first experience at this restaurant a year ago was very positive. You're almost a one-star restaurant, simply because of the wait for your food. You can thank the kindness and friendliness of the waitresses and the delicious food, which earned you two stars. So, I advise any of my readers who might want to experience this restaurant to bring a sleeping bag. Have a lovely afternoon.

11/04/2026: On Saturday evening, March 28th, on the advice of my children, I went to eat. The meal was pleasant, the service average. The service was going well until the waitress brought me the wine. I was served a glass of wine, which was more like the dregs of the bottle, complete with sediment. When I pointed this out to her, she replied, without apologizing, that the dregs of the bottle were normal. When paying, I took the glass to the owner, who made the same comment as her waitress. As a former restaurant owner, I would never have tolerated such a response to a customer. I do not recommend this restaurant, especially to wine lovers and/or connoisseurs, as the staff lacks professionalism... much like the owner.

03/07/2026: Creative menu, excellent wine list ("Cellar Book"), competent and friendly service, top-quality ingredients, and great value for money. The air-conditioned dining room was kept at 27 degrees Celsius, which was so pleasant! We had a truly wonderful evening with the tasting menu, and we will definitely be back! Many thanks to Thiébaut and the entire team. Bravo!

05/05/2026: I stay at the Hostellerie d’Alsace in Cernay two nights a week for business trips, and it has become a place I particularly appreciate. It’s a 3-star hotel with simple but very clean and comfortable rooms, offering everything you need to rest well after a day of work. The overall atmosphere is friendly and calm, which is really pleasant for regular stays. The hotel’s strongest point is undoubtedly the welcome: the staff are always attentive, helpful, and very accommodating. You quickly feel recognized and welcome. I also greatly appreciate the flexibility and the fact that, whenever possible, I’m given a quiet room overlooking the parking lot. The restaurant is also a very pleasant surprise: the food is truly delicious, and the hotel’s reputation in the area is well-deserved. A great way to discover local cuisine! Special mention also goes to the wine list, with Yvan the sommelier often introducing me to some excellent bottles! The half-board package at €89 is, in my opinion, unbeatable value for money. Breakfast is rather simple, but more than enough to start the day right. The only minor point to note is the lack of air conditioning in the summer, but this is quite bearable thanks to the fans provided in the rooms. In short, excellent value for money, a friendly staff, and a place I enjoy returning to every week.

04/06/2026: For a group meal of about thirty people... everything was truly excellent! Refined cuisine, beautifully presented and generous portions. The welcome was very friendly. Everyone was delighted. A very good place to eat.

09/07/2026: This was our first stop as we hit Alsace. I've heard the region was famous for its food, so when I had the chance to eat all this, I was very pleasantly surprised. In fact, I was almost a bit spoilt because almost everything else in the Alsace region couldn't beat the quality and balance of the menu here. I travel with adults who tend to be quite fussy with their preferences in terms of diet. Can't be too strong in bold flavours, can't be too sour, can't be too gamey, can't be too fatty. This restaurant however, received no complaints whatsoever. That's a huge compliment in itself. It's a bit more of a modern take on french dining than the typical winstubs of the Alsace region, but I'm happy to dine here again and try everything off of their menu. It's a pity our appetites weren't super big, if not we'd definitely have ordered more food. I personally think this deserves to be on the Michelin guide. Thanks for the meal :)

07/07/2026: Great place, warm welcome, and a lovely little terrace. The dishes are very good and well-portioned. I recommend it. However, the prices of drinks, especially juices, are outrageous: €6.50 for tomato juice and €6 for grapefruit juice! And no drinks menu was provided so you could know the prices beforehand!

Quality is evident at every level in this establishment nestled in the heart of Ribeauvillé: discreet and efficient service, charming decor, refined presentation of the dishes, and exquisite flavors. The wine pairing is a must-try; we visited the supplier's cellar the very next day. Congratulations to Chef Thomas Eblin; his restaurant provided us with a superb evening.

14/05/2026: I ordered a tartiflette pizza from them and it was the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. The cream tasted like it had gone bad, or I don't know what brand of cream you use, but it was disgusting. I will never order from you again.

09/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at Auberge du Froehn. The menu was excellent, the decor very elegant and charming. We especially loved the orange-carrot-ginger sorbet with its gingerbread liqueur: an original and truly delicious combination. While I don't usually like mango, I discovered a superb pairing of flavors with the caramel milk ice cream... simply sublime. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end and recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

16/05/2026: Absolutely not recommended. We have rarely encountered such unpleasant and unwelcoming service. It felt like customers were a nuisance rather than welcome—especially families with children. The food tasted terrible, and the prices were completely overpriced for the quality offered. The entire experience was very unpleasant and disappointing. We felt neither respected nor welcome. For us, this will definitely be the first and last time.

16/05/2026: What a shame to be treated so poorly, especially since we had a baby in a stroller. A very calm baby who didn't cry once and didn't bother anyone at all. From the moment we arrived, we were treated rudely because of the stroller, and they even managed to tell us, "You're lucky I still have a table over there in the corner." It's you who were lucky that I didn't want to cause any trouble for my friend when I left. I certainly won't be back.
