04/12/2025: We had a wonderful time at the tasting. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the owner's explanations were fascinating. Some of the wines even pleasantly surprised us with their original and delicate flavors. The only slight suggestion for improvement was that we would have appreciated slightly more generous tasting portions. However, this didn't detract from the experience at all, which was truly delightful. Thank you again for this lovely time!

09/02/2026: Thursday, February 5th, 1:00 PM A restaurant worthy of a fine dining establishment. Cloth napkins, even individual ones in the restroom! The service is excellent and attentive. The meal was beautifully presented and delicious down to the last bite. Reservations are necessary. Absolutely recommended.

18/03/2026: Good bakery. I thoroughly enjoyed their spelt bread. The 5 stars are for the bread. As for the "lounge" area, it's more like an Alsatian bakery, not a fine pastry shop. The coffee is typical bar coffee, and the pastry I chose was quite heavy.

21/02/2026: It's always a pleasure for me to return to the Auberge Sundgovienne: a beautiful hotel and restaurant expertly run by the Hermann family. The restaurant's dining room is cozy and chic, and the staff is incredibly attentive. I had a wonderful meal, as usual. If I had one suggestion, it would be that the €23 set menu be more elaborate; it's sometimes a little too simplistic considering the overall quality of the establishment and the rest of the menu. 03/02/2026: We were invited for a birthday celebration. A table of 12, I think. I'm not from the area, so this was my first time at the restaurant. The food was good overall, but there were a few things to note. We had barely sat down when we had to choose our aperitifs. One person was missing, so we started without them since the service was rushed. Our aperitifs were served, and two minutes later, a creamy soup arrived (excellent), but we had barely started our aperitifs when the missing person hadn't arrived. The staff could have anticipated this and waited for them to arrive before serving. Our starter was tarte flambée, which was good, but nothing special. We barely had time to step outside for a cigarette before the main courses were being served. The main courses were also served too quickly. We barely had time to finish what we had before we had to move on to the next course… And unfortunately, what I really disliked was that the courses weren't announced beforehand. The menu had been pre-ordered by our hosts, but at no point did the waitresses bother to explain what we were eating. For example, the soup—I couldn't tell you what vegetables were in it. The main course: we had to guess what the purée was made of because it wasn't potato—maybe parsnip or celery? Luckily, I didn't have an allergic reaction. The dessert was a vacherin, and we had to guess the flavor. I'm mentioning this because if someone has an allergy or something, we don't have all the information. It's basic customer service to tell the customer what's on their menu. Overall, I'm only moderately satisfied despite the good food!

25/10/2025: I rediscovered the kohlschag with a real atmosphere of the farm inns of Alsace and good mountain gastronomy, I was happy to rediscover the spirit of the Vosges outings of my childhood.

29/09/2025: Very good farm produce. After a short stroll around the area, a break is a must, and the location is perfect. We were very welcomed. This is our second time here, and it's still just as good and delicious.

01/03/2026: The food was plentiful and very good, no complaints there. As for the service: the waiter wasn't pleasant; we felt like we were bothering him, to put it politely... A shame.

16/02/2026: Returning to the restaurant on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and just as good as before. Back again at Bratzala, a perfect welcome. Today, a group of 8, we ordered fried carp. A real treat! Homemade mayonnaise, perfectly fried, a lovely salad, excellent fries, and to finish, a superb dessert. Truly excellent! Returning to this restaurant with a group of 19, we were very well received, the service was perfect, the daily menu at €13.90 would put many restaurants to shame, the quality was perfect, and the food was delicious. Well done to the whole team! A very good restaurant, perfect cuisine, good service, a warm welcome at an affordable price. Bravo!
