27/07/2026: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Very bad experience. We came on Friday evening, a group of five, to celebrate my birthday, and the evening was completely ruined by a bill that I find unacceptable. We ordered a mixed platter for €18, three portions of paprika fries with an extra sauce for €0.50, sweet chicken for €9, and squid for €10. When the bill arrived, we were shocked: €158. Looking at the receipt, we discovered that €29 had been charged for an all-you-can-eat option for each person, even though the waiter never told us we were ordering this option, and we never asked for it. At no point was it explained to us that these dishes automatically included an all-you-can-eat option or that it was mandatory. The result: a bill of €158 for an order that should have cost around €60. Such a lack of transparency is unacceptable. The very least they could have done was clearly inform us before we ordered so we could make an informed choice. I find this practice very disappointing and dishonest. We left feeling cheated, which is particularly unfortunate on the evening of a birthday. I will not return and I do not recommend this establishment until communication with customers is clearer.

13/07/2026: We discovered this establishment with anticipation, but our experience was somewhat mixed. --- 🍷 The service could be improved. Regarding the wine, the waitress didn't offer convincing recommendations. It's perfectly understandable not to be knowledgeable, but in this case, it would be better to ask a colleague for advice rather than offering uncertain suggestions. We also had a small error in our order that unfortunately wasn't corrected. 🔉The atmosphere changes with the arrival of a DJ around 8 pm. While some might appreciate the more festive atmosphere, we found the volume a bit too loud for comfortable conversation at our table. 🌮 As for the food, the tapas are good, simple, and well-prepared, without being particularly memorable. 🌳 Finally, we found it a shame that the air conditioning was running even with the windows open. - - - In the end, the establishment has potential, but several aspects could be improved to make the experience more enjoyable. In the meantime, we still feel a touch of nostalgia for the old XX bar.

The welcome is always with a smile, the couscous is delicious, and the owner comes around to each table to make sure everything is alright. 07/06/2026: The best couscous around, for many years now. We're always warmly welcomed, the couscous is delicious and plentiful, and the owner even comes around to refill our plates! Pair it with a good bottle of Boulaouane wine, and everything is perfect. P.S.: We always ask for the semolina with cinnamon and raisins; it's absolutely delicious. Thank you!

01/09/2026: We went for lunch at this charming inn after our visit to the Memorial. We received a very warm welcome; the food comes from the farm and is cooked simply but deliciously. Friendly waitress 😊

12/08/2026: A lovely little inn with farm-fresh products. The ladies are very helpful and kind. =) There aren't many dishes on the menu, but what makes them so good is what's served 😋 and the homemade desserts are delicious too. I highly recommend it.

15/09/2026: A real gem at Restaurant de la Gare in Avolsheim! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and genuine warmth. You immediately feel right at home. The food is a delight: flavorful cuisine, generous portions, and everything is homemade. You can taste it in every bite! A wonderful place, simple and welcoming, just the way we like them in Alsace. I've rarely seen someone so dedicated to their work, and it was truly refreshing. She gave excellent advice, qualities that are becoming increasingly rare these days. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

21/08/2026: As a tourist, I've rarely experienced such friendly and helpful staff in France. That's why I love having lunch here whenever we're in Strasbourg. The value for money, especially with the set menus, is excellent, and for just €1 more, you can get a coffee and a macaron. But besides the pastries, the best thing is definitely the staff. One very outgoing and warm lady explains things to me in French so well and in such detail that I understand everything, even though I don't speak French. It's always a real pleasure. Other staff members are also very friendly and speak good English, so there are no problems for tourists.

08/08/2026: The fish stew from the Grand Ried was absolutely remarkable. Serving the dish in two courses was an excellent idea, ensuring it was always piping hot. The dining room was very pleasant. The service was excellent and quite friendly. Reservations are recommended. Note that it's closed on Wednesdays. Bonus: a visit to the Abbey Church of St. Maurice, located just opposite the restaurant, is worthwhile, as it's remarkable for its Baroque style. Highly recommended.

22/09/2026: Purchase of a large order of fries, a nagi bao burger, and 6 chicken chunks this Tuesday at 6:30 PM at McDonald's Erstein, total €16.20. Few customers, but enough staff to do the job properly. The photo shows the fries as they came out of the bag when I got home. How can they put this in a bag and serve it to a customer?

09/08/2026: Delicious pizzas, and they know it in Villé and the surrounding area, because it wasn't just busy in the restaurant; there was also a constant stream of takeaway customers. We sat outside, but sitting inside would have been smarter since the air conditioning was on there. The sorbet was tasty too.
