06/06/2026: Great and tasty, lots of options and menu variations. With the possibility of adaptations to the dishes. The meats were very well seasoned. Agile and friendly service. We had a misunderstanding regarding one of the dishes and it was quickly resolved. Congratulations. I recommend. Excellent and delicious, with a large choice of plats and variants. Les plats sont personnalisables. Les viandes étaient très bien assaisonnées. Le service était rapide et chaleureux. Il y a eu um malentendu concerning l'un des plats, mais il a été rapidement résolu. Bravo. To recommander vivement.

05/06/2026: Excellent experience! The service was perfect, fast, and very welcoming. The kebab was truly delicious: the bread was homemade, as were the doner and the sauces, which makes all the difference. The meat was of very good quality, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. You can tell the care put into preparing the ingredients. Excellent value for money and a very professional team. I highly recommend it! 🌯🔥👌

02/11/2025: Terrible experience - Pad thai: tagliatelle with meat and broth. Never seen anything like it. - Stir-fried noodles: probably instant noodles. - Bobun was more like an ugly bun... Either we were unlucky, or the people who wrote this review have never eaten Asian food before.

10/05/2026: A continuing disappointment. We've been coming from Saverne to this excellent pastry shop for years, but we're finding it increasingly difficult to navigate! The service is becoming increasingly cold, with regular mistakes, poorly cleaned tables, and the bread is sometimes worse than supermarket bread... The pastries are still delicious, but the price should be justified by an impeccable atmosphere! This needs to be addressed urgently for this Alsatian establishment, which relies heavily on its reputation and location...

05/05/2026: On the evening of April 30, 2026, my son, daughter-in-law, and I were looking forward to celebrating my birthday once again at La Maison des Tanneurs, a restaurant I have only fond memories of and have recommended many times. But what a disappointment! The sauerkraut was mediocre, the pike-perch tasteless... but the real low point was my vegetarian dish, which I wouldn't have dared serve to anyone at home: a mound of dry sauerkraut surrounded by bland or overly salty boiled vegetables, apart from two spoonfuls of cooked red cabbage. The overly sweet rhubarb tart had lost all its acidity, but the iced kougelhopf was good. What happened that evening?

21/04/2026: It was okay, but nothing special. The fact that the entire restaurant is black only highlights its grime. It's not a very comfortable place. We won't be back.

11/07/2026: When I saw the reviews I thought it was another restaurant. The pizza wasn't cooked properly; the top and edges were burnt. Despite my efforts to eat it, there was no way. I paid for a meal I ate, and they even charged me for water that wasn't there. Bad experience.

13/07/2026: Very long wait (30 minutes) for a carbonara and a scampi salad (€16.50 for a salad with 4 scampi). The waiters were very friendly but overwhelmed. Otherwise, well located in the shade, a nice restaurant.

13/07/2026: The pizzas are incredible, the food is truly excellent. A huge shout-out to the waitress, she was so friendly, efficient, and always in a good mood. It was a pleasure!

02/07/2026: Restaurant in the center of the village of Gambsheim. Parking available in front. It's spacious and has a terrace at the back. The menu is very comprehensive, featuring meats, salads, pizzas, and tarte flambée. The latter two are cooked in a wood-fired oven. The waitress was very friendly. We opted for an Antipasti platter and an oriental pizza. The platter was excellent and very generously topped, but the pizza itself was so-so. The crust was very thin, like tarte flambée dough. I think they could do better. The pineapple carpaccio was excellent, but the strawberries with whipped cream could have been colder. A good place to eat.

29/06/2026: First visit to Au Vieux Fournil. Pleasant setting and warm welcome. Flammed tarts and pizzas. The same dough for both, which is unusual. The tarte flambée is slightly thick, while the pizza is thin, but both are very good. The tarte flambée filling is excellent, generously topped, resulting in a superb round tarte flambée served on a plate. The pizza has a thin crust, a very good tomato sauce, and toppings made with quality ingredients. In conclusion, the tarte flambée/pizza combination, using the same base, allows both to be made in the same oven, and the result is original and impressive. A delightful surprise. This restaurant is a great find; we will be back.

19/06/2026: My company used their services twice, and both times the quantity was insufficient. They had great difficulty managing large groups, and the cooks' explanation was one of bad faith.

02/06/2026: Too much pasta on the menus...not enough vegetables in the daily specials...fish served undercooked...friendly staff, a little tense!

14/06/2026: Enjoyed an excellent, well-served, and generous portion of fish stew in September 2024. Returning in April 2026, the portions had significantly decreased, which was disappointing after the initial enthusiasm. The welcome and service were nonetheless commendable.

28/04/2026: The all-you-can-eat sushi was excellent! Unfortunately, there was a hair in one piece of sushi and a gnat in my glass. The waitress quickly replaced the "contaminated" sushi. When I went to see her at the end of my shift, she didn't apologize and said, "It's normal to work in the kitchen without a hairnet," adding, "That's just how it is." This speaks volumes about the hygiene in the kitchen. I used to go there regularly, but I'll never set foot in that place again.

12/06/2026: The cuisine is simply remarkable. Alsatian specialties are elevated with admirable skill: bold flavors, impeccable quality ingredients, generous and perfectly executed dishes. Each bite tells a story, that of a culinary heritage carefully preserved and masterfully enhanced.

30/12/2025: While passing through the region, we had trouble finding a reasonably priced hotel near Strasbourg (Christmas period). I chose this one, but I must admit I was very disappointed after paying €240 (in advance) for two nights (without breakfast). I should mention that the staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel seems old and, in our opinion, desperately needs a renovation. We arrived at 5 or 6 PM, and the reception desk was closed with a shutter, and the room keys were left on it… Anyone could have entered our room… I was very surprised by this system. The room itself was small but adequate, and the bed was very small but sufficient. The floral bedspread looked dated, as did the mismatched velvet cushions. Hygiene-wise, non-washable velvet cushions have no place on a bed where different people sleep each night… this bothered me greatly… the pillows were thin and uncomfortable. The rooms have no soundproofing: we could hear the dog barking at the other end of the hotel, the construction work, and even the people using the bathroom in the next room… (🫨). The heating is inadequate and it gets cold quickly, especially in December. For breakfast, we paid €50 for two people for two mornings (€11.50 x 4 + tax). There was little choice, and few, if any, savory options, so we made do with what was on offer. In short, considering the prices, I think the hotel should be modernized and renovated (while still retaining its typical Alsatian charm).

16/03/2026: Passing through Bischwiller with my friends, I wanted to grab a pizza. They recommended this pizzeria, which they've been going to for a long time. I must say it was a real find; the pizza was excellent, the staff friendly, and the prices more than reasonable—in fact, for that size of pizza, I'd never seen anything like it. See you soon, I'll definitely be back.
