08/03/2026: Not good at all. Dry bread and a way-overcooked steak.

09/02/2026: The salads are nice, with a variety of fillings and a good portion size for around €10. They're sufficient as a main course with a piece of wholemeal bread. It's a shame the weekday dishes don't have more vegetables. For those looking for light and healthy meals, you won't find many choices among the daily specials. The pasta bowls are standard, without any real "extras" that would make us want to order them again. The service is very friendly and always available when needed.

19/01/2026: The mille-feuille was worse than the pastries sold in supermarkets…a disaster. Fortunately, the very friendly staff raised the bar.

05/05/2026: Ikea: The chain where profit matters more than the customer Ikea used to be a trusted brand for home decor and furniture. Unfortunately, they've decided to eliminate all the cashiers. After retrieving your boxes from the stockroom yourself, you now have to scan your purchases on the way out. Only one overworked student is tasked with addressing the numerous problems at the six self-checkout kiosks under his supervision. A Securitas security guard watches you throughout the process with an unpleasant, inquisitive eye, convinced that every customer is a closet thief. Self-checkouts were implemented in other stores to reduce waiting times. Not at Ikea. You have to queue to do everything yourself. One day, they'll ask us to sweep the floor on our way out. Since the checkout experience comes at the very end of the store, it leaves a rather disappointing shopping experience. I prefer to go to the Danish store in Vendenheim while waiting for the Jysk store in Kehl to open in June. There, you have a checkout counter where employees greet you with a smile. The complete opposite of the impersonal experience at Ikea. What a shame.

10/05/2026: Hello, After having avoided this restaurant since 2024, I returned today, May 10, 2026. Excellent welcome, the restaurant was cleaned, the current head waiter was very professional. It's nice to see that this establishment has made the effort to respect its customers by serving a decent meal in good conditions. Thank you. See you soon. Hello - It's been getting worse and worse for the last 5 years. Today was the last straw: the restaurant hadn't been cleaned, and used napkins were lying under the tables. There was no welcome. The young woman present had an unpleasant, mocking attitude and no self-control. The young man said, "I'm just a waiter?" Flammekueche with practically raw onions. The foie gras was deconstructed, grainy, and a very small portion for €23.50—that's a first. It's highway robbery. The other restaurants in the group, notably the Biblenhoff and the Tankstell, respect their customers by serving them professionally with decent portions and a stable, friendly staff. At the Auberge du Ried, the staff changes very frequently; what's the problem? I sincerely hope that the customers who booked the holiday menus won't regret their choice. 18/03/2026: University restaurant close to transport (bus and tram), varied menus, it's one of the best in Strasbourg in my opinion and the atmosphere is quite nice.

10/03/2026: Okay, but the portion sizes are a disaster. Plates aren't even a quarter full, and even if you ask for more, there's absolutely not enough—it's ridiculous. 3 stars because the desserts are slightly better than in other university restaurants. As for the staff, it's difficult to get a smile or anything friendly out of them, which is a shame.

12/05/2026: What can I say about the bakery server… Who doesn't say hello and keeps cleaning her floor for 5 minutes with a customer right in front of her, probably thinking it's up to the customer to make the first move… The customer is starting to think they're bothering her ;) then laughs as if we're being rude. Incidentally, it's no better than when she yells and gets angry in front of customers because her colleagues or supervisor are bad. Come on 🫠

12/05/2026: The pizzas arrived after an hour. They weren't the right ones at all, and they were large instead of the set menu size. The pizzas were crushed in the box, stuck to the cardboard. In the end, very expensive for three pizzas that didn't live up to expectations. But these things happen.

07/05/2026: After placing an online order for a meal with colleagues, the order was quickly accepted with a delivery time slot. When no one arrived after the scheduled time, we tried to contact the restaurant by phone, but received no answer. We then discovered that the order had been cancelled on the online order tracking system without explanation.

15/05/2026: Passing through town with the circus, we came to this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! We travel a lot and eat in many restaurants, and this one is definitely among the best. The service was impeccable, the portions were generous, and above all, the quality was truly top-notch. We ordered a starter, main course, and dessert, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end, all in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much.

02/07/2026: Restaurant in the center of the village of Gambsheim. Parking available in front. It's spacious and has a terrace at the back. The menu is very comprehensive, featuring meats, salads, pizzas, and tarte flambée. The latter two are cooked in a wood-fired oven. The waitress was very friendly. We opted for an Antipasti platter and an oriental pizza. The platter was excellent and very generously topped, but the pizza itself was so-so. The crust was very thin, like tarte flambée dough. I think they could do better. The pineapple carpaccio was excellent, but the strawberries with whipped cream could have been colder. A good place to eat.

29/06/2026: First visit to Au Vieux Fournil. Pleasant setting and warm welcome. Flammed tarts and pizzas. The same dough for both, which is unusual. The tarte flambée is slightly thick, while the pizza is thin, but both are very good. The tarte flambée filling is excellent, generously topped, resulting in a superb round tarte flambée served on a plate. The pizza has a thin crust, a very good tomato sauce, and toppings made with quality ingredients. In conclusion, the tarte flambée/pizza combination, using the same base, allows both to be made in the same oven, and the result is original and impressive. A delightful surprise. This restaurant is a great find; we will be back.

07/05/2026: Terrible service; the order taking and the waitress's friendliness need improvement—she seemed more preoccupied with her phone than with the customers. Orders not followed. Music too loud.

03/05/2026: Manolya Kebab… what happened to you? You're one of the most renowned kebab shops in Strasbourg, but I was disappointed. The yufka I ordered was made with a tasteless, cardboard-like, industrial bread. Other, lesser-known kebab shops already offer homemade bread. And as for the meat, it tasted like it had been mechanically separated, with bits of cartilage. I understand that the meat comes from factories and is sometimes frozen, but even then, it's possible to select quality spit-roasted meat. Profitability shouldn't take precedence over quality, especially with your reputation and the tourist traffic. I've eaten at about 80% of the doner kebab shops in Strasbourg, and I think I have a point of reference when I say that this one is overpriced for what you get. I hope you'll take these comments into account and finally offer a quality that lives up to your reputation.

03/05/2026: The place looks absolutely amazing and the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. But the masterpiece was the monkfish (Mijoté de Lotte), the currysauce and rice boosted this to another dimension. The Muscadet complemented the dishes wonderfully. 10/10 recommendation for anyone who loves fish!

05/05/2026: We always enjoy going there to eat; the food is good and the service is excellent. There's a lovely outdoor terrace, the place is well-maintained, and the restrooms are clean. You can go there without any worries. As for prices, it's a touristy spot, so they reflect that, but they're still reasonable.

04/05/2026: Reservation for 9 pm I went there for dinner one evening and arrived a little late. A table was reserved in a nice little corner. The decor is typically Alsatian, and the waiter was friendly. I ordered a flammekueche with Munster cheese, which was delicious and a generous portion. Good establishment; the interior decor is typically Alsatian.
