25/02/2026: Very disappointed. The paella has changed a lot. Smaller portions and dry pieces of chicken. Friendly welcome, average service. High price for what's served. Coffee without a biscuit or anything else. Third and last visit.

13/02/2026: A hidden gem in Ascain! This little bar-restaurant is simply perfect. You can feel the genuine passion, from the appetizers to the cheese course, with top-quality Basque regional products. The wine selection is excellent and pairs wonderfully with the dishes. Special mention goes to the owner: dedicated, friendly, and attentive. An authentic place just the way we like them, I highly recommend it!

13/12/2025: We discovered this restaurant by chance one evening while passing through Ascain. Honestly, you have to go! We had a very good meal with excellent cuisine made from fresh ingredients. The service was friendly.

22/02/2026: I had dinner last night at Ibaia in Bayonne with four people. The food was generally good, and the quality of the ingredients remains consistent. The Xuleta (rib steak) is still offered at the same price as before. However, the overall dining experience seemed at odds with the price point. The service now feels rather "canteen-like": minimal on-the-spotting, about a 10-minute wait for the menu, and the wine list was missing when we were served. The layout of the dining room could also be improved. Anyone can walk the entire length of the restaurant, which means that some people might be intoxicated or unsavory, and this impacts the atmosphere at the table. The paper napkins look rather kitschy, and the mustard served in a simple Amora jar doesn't really reflect the high-quality image the place used to project. As a regular at this restaurant, I had much fonder memories of it. Previously, Xuleta's price reflected the quality of the overall experience (service, setting, consistency). Now, it feels like they might be undergoing a reorganization, or a change in management or concept. The potential is still there, but the experience isn't as polished as it once was for the same price.

09/03/2026: Restaurant we visit often, the best fresh local excellent food prepared with professional mastery finesse. Never disappointed, always pleasantly surprised. Menu changes according to the fresh seasonal ingredients. Very good local wine and cocktails. Gourmet food, enjoy any time. Terrace outdoor with beautiful views of the mountains and the church, in the summer jazz Friday evening is a double pleasure. Wonderful vibes, very kind staff and owners. 09/03/2026: We were spending a weekend in the Basque Country and only had one night at Sylvie and Éric's hotel. We highly recommend this place; we have absolutely no complaints. The welcome was excellent, and the room was very clean and spacious. We loved the food and were surprised by the quality and quantity of the breakfast. So don't hesitate to book! Everything is more than perfect!

29/01/2026: An authentic Béarn setting for quality home-style cooking. A warm welcome and consistently friendly service from Martine, who is constantly busy between her kitchen and the dining room ensuring everything is perfect. All the dishes are delicious and the portions generous. I always find it very difficult to choose between the various homemade desserts. We will be back often. A wonderful place to discover. Reservations are highly recommended due to its many regular customers.

04/01/2026: Simply brilliant. Whenever we're in Sauveterre-de-Béarn, we eat there. The waitress is the best. The bartender is very friendly. Last time, he even gave us free coffee.

20/01/2026: An absolute top recommendation! Superb hospitality and outstanding, personalized service in all areas. Modern Basque ambiance. Quiet location on the edge of the picturesque village, with numerous impressive hikes accessible both directly from the hotel and within easy driving distance. The Atlantic coast (St.-Jean-de-Luz!) is also reachable in about 30-40 minutes. Large pool. Excellent cuisine (vegetarian menus with fish instead of meat are available; purely vegetarian or vegan options are difficult).
