Watching the chef prepare the food at the bar is a great option. The menu is small but each dish is thoughtfully prepared; the steak is flavorful, the duck breast is tender and juicy, and the custard is delightfully presented. The bread is fresh, and the wine list is excellent, with both red and white wines worth trying. While we waited to be seated, the owner thoughtfully served us two glasses of white wine. The overall service is friendly and casual, with the female manager who seated us being particularly outstanding – a rare and appreciated gesture. Some reviews mention that the atmosphere in the back is less lively than in the front, while the bar area is more lively, cozy, and slightly stylish. If you're staying in Bordeaux, this is a place you'd want to frequent.

16/09/2026: Excellent value for money (less than €20 per person for a starter, main course, and dessert). The portions are generous, the homemade fries are excellent, and the service is quick. Since the menu changes daily, you won't get tired of it if you come regularly. The staff are friendly. It's ideal for lunch with colleagues, but also perfect for families: they can adjust the portions of the daily special for children, which is a real plus.

04/09/2026: We had the opportunity to discover this magnificent establishment, a veritable institution, which, following its takeover and management, has created an incredible synergy within its team. Everyone involved, from reception to the kitchen and service staff, is exceptional, both for their good humor and their knowledge of the products served. Furthermore, my wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and were treated like royalty. A huge thank you to Nathan and Malo for this wonderful and warm welcome, to Thibault for his advice, and of course to the entire team for the delicious meal, not forgetting Stéphanie who makes the best cocktails. 04/09/2026: An unexpected encounter with Nathan and Malo quickly sparked our curiosity to visit their restaurant, "LE CABANON." From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a sublime setting, a warm welcome, delicious cuisine that left us speechless 🤭, and service from a young, dynamic, and friendly team. My husband and I, originally from the Lot region (46), will cherish this memory and have only one desire: to return very soon 🤪 A big BRAVO to everyone, keep up the great work! 👌

28/08/2026: This is our third visit; the staff is very friendly, the service is quick, and the pizzas, focaccia, and pasta are excellent. The terrace is lovely with a sunset view, and the dining rooms have been tastefully renovated. A must-visit.

26/08/2026: Nice decor, pleasant service, but the food clearly leaves much to be desired. The presentation of the dishes is really lacking. The children's meal of macaroni and cheese with ham is like something you'd get in a school cafeteria. Frankly, as the daughter of a restaurant owner, I hate to do this, but I strongly advise against this restaurant. It's a shame to have such a beautiful establishment and location to serve such mass-produced food. PS: It was my children's birthday, and they didn't even receive a candle or any special attention. That's what customer experience is all about.

28/08/2026: Exceptional food and fabulous service with lovely wine too compliment.... 2 years between visits and absolutely spot on both times. Cannot recommend highly enough. Always thought Michelin Stars were over rated but Auberge had proven me wrong. Magnifique !!

19/08/2026: We had been planning to come for a long time. Our son's birthday provided the perfect opportunity. It was perfect, starting with the view of the Dordogne River and the visual delight of the dishes. The meals on the "Water and Riverbanks" menu were exquisitely prepared. We also appreciated the helpful guidance in choosing wines to accompany our lunch. We will gladly return.

30/07/2026: Nice little aperitif in the heart of the Citadel. Closed a bit early. A swarm of wasps that we would have preferred not to see so close. A wasp trap might be useful.

03/09/2026: Hello, I didn't go to the restaurant in La Teste, but I'm writing this review directly from the guinguette at Domaine de Milon, which offers catering services for appetizers. The quality of the food was fine, however, the "trilogy of salmon" platter at €12 for four measly slices of salmon and a tiny bowl of salmon rillettes seemed a bit excessive. There are limits to taking advantage of your customers, and you've clearly crossed them this time. Just so you know.

03/09/2026: The food is absolutely delicious and refined. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the set lunch menu for €19 and we weren't disappointed: a very good starter and main course with superb presentation, and a delicious French toast dessert. A top-notch restaurant. The service is also excellent. While it's not located by the ocean or a lake, it's definitely worth a visit.

31/07/2026: An amazing restaurant, a must-try if you're looking for great value and love Vietnamese food 😉🤗 Plus, the portions are very generous. The chef is Vietnamese. Her husband is French. It's definitely best to book in advance, even if there are only two of you, as it's practically full every day.

17/07/2026: An excellent place! The dishes are delicious, prepared with quality ingredients, and the welcome is always warm, friendly, and with a good dose of humor. Just remember to book in advance, as the restaurant is small and very popular. Fortunately, takeout is also available. I highly recommend it!

01/09/2026: Just passing through Castillon-la-Bataille and looking for a restaurant, we were delighted to find this place where we had a truly wonderful time, both in terms of the food (seasonal products, all prepared on-site by a great team) and the fantastic, family-friendly atmosphere this place offers its customers.
