23/07/2026: Excellent value for money. Very pleasant staff.

14/07/2026: This morning at 8:45, wanting to have a quick coffee before my yoga session, I went to Kalaka Café, but unfortunately, the owner, on the eve of the Bayonne Festival opening, had reserved her terrace for regulars. Personally, I find this very inappropriate. It's a shame, I won't be going back, and I'm not the only one. Two other women who were there at the same time as me were turned away.

09/05/2026: One of the few places that serves pintxos. They're excellent. We had a great time at this bar. Music, rugby match, darts, a nice indoor space away from the smokers on the terrace. Very good Pornstar Martini. I recommend it.

17/04/2026: A very innovative concept; the window displays are more enticing than in Saint Sebastian. I recommend the team's cheerful atmosphere.

29/06/2026: A warm welcome and a lovely wine list. Thank you to the waitresses/sommeliers who gave us excellent advice! The platters and tapas were perfect.

01/08/2026: First time ordering ice cream. It took well over 30 minutes. In the meantime, we were given a swing-top bottle of water. Opened the bottle; there was mold on the inside of the cap. We did get a new bottle, though. The ice cream was made with way too much melon, and the Dame Blanche with way too much chocolate sauce. It was ridiculous. Second visit: after another 30 minutes and still no ice cream, we’d had enough: still no order, but a lot of pacing back and forth by the wait staff doing nothing. The owner is the only one who makes the ice cream, but he just didn't have time. He only had time to have social chats with a fellow townsman and didn't bother with his customers' orders. Well, that’s just how it is. We went to another restaurant and had a delicious sundae within 5 minutes. So it can be done that way too.

18/02/2026: Family meal, weekday evening, quiet, excellent service, varied and very good dishes, affordable price. Good.

13/01/2026: Arrived on a Tuesday around 12:30 PM, not many people there. We were seated immediately, our order was taken, and our drinks and food arrived quite quickly. The server was attentive, no complaints there. The portions and prices were very reasonable; we left more than satisfied for €20-25 per person including drinks. The Paradise and Pataterie mocktails are really good! A great rediscovery of this chain.

09/08/2026: A wonderful experience. The setting is lovely and very peaceful for the town. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. A must-try if you're visiting Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

16/07/2026: They refused me entry to the toilets while I was currently drinking, and this happened two nights in a row… saying that “going to the toilet is a special privilege”.

10/07/2026: Wonderful experience. The dishes were carefully prepared and the service was warm.

25/12/2025: Is it still open?! On December 24th, it was listed as open until 6 PM on Google's special hours for that day, but in the end, the doors were closed. Not a word, nothing. Nobody there, even though we had driven across town to get there 😭 with my parents, who live 800km away and adore Pailhasson chocolates from Pau... I've been a customer since 2020, first in Tarbes and then in Pau, and I was so disappointed myself.

07/11/2025: Shop closed. Incorrect opening hours. I made a special trip... frustrating.

15/05/2026: Delicious food. The spring rolls were very fresh. It felt like being at home. We were very satisfied and will definitely return.

15/07/2026: Nice place, but—and there's a "but"—the espresso costs €2. We're only in Sauvelade. A bit much.

16/07/2026: The bakery has been under new management for a few weeks now, but the bread is overcooked, the specialty breads are expensive and don't keep very well, and worst of all, there are no pastries, not even on Sundays! It's a shame.

17/06/2026: Unfortunately, we didn't get to taste any pizza. We really wanted to come in for pizza and walked inside, but weren't allowed to sit down. There was no terrace like in the photos (we weren't there during peak season, so maybe that's why). The lady just said "No" when we wanted to sit down. There were no other options for eating. After discussing it, we asked if we could get takeaway instead; they said that was possible, but only 2.5 hours later?!?! There were four people in the restaurant who already had pizza. The lady was also very unfriendly; because it was Sunday evening and everything else was closed, we went to bed hungry. It's a real shame because the pizzas looked good in the photos.

09/06/2026: Had a really delicious pizza with my teenage daughter. Cozy little place. The lady who makes the pizza is friendly, helpful, and works hard. Lots of choice of specialty pizzas. Definitely recommended.
