The welcome is always warm, and the owner is incredibly kind, smiling, and attentive to his customers. You feel comfortable every time you visit. A truly great place that I recommend without hesitation! 👍😊🍽️

15/07/2026: A huge disappointment for Bastille Day... I was looking forward to a delicious mussels and fries with my daughter 🤷, a classic dish... At €21 a plate 🤦, I really thought I'd enjoy it... But disappointment was definitely on the menu. The mussels in cream sauce with garlic or Maroilles cheese were tasteless... and mostly water 😅. That's expensive for water! Undercooked vegetables! And frozen fries 🤦. Luckily, we skipped dessert to avoid the unpleasant aftertaste 🤷. A huge disappointment. Fortunately, Bray Dunes is better known for its beach 🤩

11/07/2026: Went for a beer 🍺 🍺 on the terrace. Very welcoming. Very friendly staff. Haven't tried the restaurant yet. Emilie, the owner, is very friendly.

01/07/2026: Good owner and employees, but the only downside, which is a real shame, is that the bread arrived frozen, hard as a rusk, and really unpleasant. And this isn't the first time; it's truly the only negative point.

19/07/2026: On July 11th, my cousin and his sweetheart got married. The venue was magnificent, and all the staff were fantastic and incredibly kind. I highly recommend it for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience in a lush and peaceful setting.

10/07/2026: Originally C de la P was our coffee stop off en route Alsace! Our first visit, a very cold foggy winter Monday morning gave us the chance to enjoy the amazing Bergues Monday market! It was so cold we could have enjoyed the warm ambiance all morning! What a friendly local bar this is and the coffee is, well, rather good (and the beer too!). But there’s more! 5 years ago all the friendliness was around a place that was a little ordinary and, well, just local and cozy. New management (maybe new ownership) has transformed the experience inside and with all the outside tables it’s really the place to be in Bergues - yes, there’s a full menu at Berguenard but C de last P is a super cool little stop off or for a longer stay too - go - enjoy the improved range of snacks and very reasonably priced wines spirits and beers Originally, the “C de la P” was just a simple coffee stop on the road to Alsace! On our first visit—a frosty, foggy Monday morning in winter—we were lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful Bergues market. It was so cold that we could have happily spent the whole morning soaking up the warm atmosphere! It's a very friendly bar, popular with locals, where the coffee is—well—pretty good (as is the beer!). But that's not all! Five years ago, this conviviality was expressed in a rather ordinary setting; it was a warm place, certainly, but typically local and unpretentious. The new management (or perhaps the new owners) has transformed the interior. With its many tables on the terrace, it has become the place to be in Bergues. While "Berguenard" offers a full menu, "C de la P" remains a great spot, whether for a quick break or to linger longer. Go there to discover the new selection of snacks as well as wines, spirits and beers at very reasonable prices.

12/07/2026: Ordered three medium pizzas by phone today, but I came to pick up three small ones. No apology whatsoever. Unpleasant staff who made no effort to speak clearly. It's not a proper oven, but a conveyor belt that heats up. Avoid at all costs.

10/07/2026: First and last order from Pizzeli. I ordered three Margherita pizzas (two with soft crust and one with thin crust), but I received three with soft crust. When I called to report the mistake, they dishonestly insisted everything was fine, even though I've been eating pizza for years and I know perfectly well the difference between a thin and a soft crust. Furthermore, when I arrived to pick up my order, I overheard the staff backstage discussing the pizzas before they even knew it was me, which proves they knew exactly what they had prepared. It really feels like just because you order Margheritas, which cost less in ingredients, the service is sloppy and they're grumpy. I'll order what I want, and the least they can do is respect the customer's choice or own up to their mistakes with a modicum of business sense instead of being condescending. Their customer service needs a complete overhaul; I won't be back.

18/07/2026: I used to eat at Mex at least two or three times a week. Unfortunately, this week I mentioned that the meat wasn't good and didn't seem fresh. They simply removed it from my plate, but I was still charged. I find that completely unacceptable. Today, there were four of us back. There were no large tables available, only two tables for two. I tried to move them together, but the young waitress spoke to me in a very unpleasant and condescending manner. Usually, when the restaurant is quiet, everyone is very friendly. However, today, with so many people, the behavior was completely different. After such an experience—between the quality of the meat, the service, and the lack of consideration for loyal customers—I'm done. I will never set foot in that establishment again.

01/08/2026: A humble Japanese restaurant with good quality food. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you'd expect from a decent Japanese meal at a reasonable price. Close to Lille Flandres train station, they offer takeout for the train. The set menu is under €15 (I ordered the €4 option in the photo). I was served in 5 minutes. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, and the staff is courteous and helpful. I recommend it.
