21/07/2026: I went there only once, on July 21st during the funfair. I had mussels, which were okay, but the fries made my gums hurt. Even the people I was with found them too hard and very dry. We didn't like them at all. Maybe they'll try a different oil.

04/08/2026: Aside from the two very pleasant servers, the food was microwaved and the flavors were really not great. You barely had time to finish your two spring rolls before they brought your main course... And it was expensive for what it was!

27/07/2026: I loved coming to Papaye several times. It's a real hidden gem in the city center! The food is delicious, the service is incredibly friendly, and the prices are reasonable. You leave the restaurant feeling full and with a smile on your face!

26/07/2026: I would like to share my experience at your Ange de la Sentinelle bakery on the morning of Thursday, July 23rd. My girlfriend bought a rosette sandwich. After paying, upon examining her sandwich, she noticed that, contrary to the description on the label, the half-baguette contained neither poppy seeds nor Batavia lettuce. We were also surprised by the amount of pickle. She pointed this out to the cashier, who simply replied that all rosette sandwiches were made that way and that “that’s just how it is.” My girlfriend asked to speak to a manager, but none was available. No apology was offered, and no compensation was provided. We regret the lack of consideration and responsiveness to what was, after all, a simple and factual observation. We would also like to remind everyone that selling a product that does not match its description can be considered fraud. We won't go anymore.

02/08/2026: First time visiting, the restaurant manager was incredibly welcoming. He showed us around and explained how everything worked. There's a microwave if your food isn't hot enough. And contrary to reviews saying the ingredients are from the day before or lunchtime, that's completely false. The restaurant deserves 5 stars, and I'll definitely be back with my partner.

02/08/2026: To begin with, I received a very warm welcome, undoubtedly from the chef! He explained everything and showed me all the equipment, even justifying himself when he didn't need to. They are such lovely, friendly people, and I felt incredibly comfortable. As for the meal, I tried the burger with their famous homemade fries—frankly, I loved it! Then I continued with their pasta and finished with their famous homemade pizza—I was in heaven! For dessert, the ice cream was amazing! I highly recommend it. Don't listen to the bad reviews; form your own opinion, and you won't be disappointed! In any case, thank you for this wonderful evening in your company!

17/07/2026: A perfect meal from start to finish. Scallop casserole: perfectly cooked to a pearly white and a divine sauce. Very rare steak, cooked to perfection, with delicious fries. Affogateau: a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream, all served in a light coffee – excellent! The service was also perfect. Attentive and available without being intrusive. A very good experience. We will be back.

01/07/2026: The Laughing Pig, open for 20 years, and it's easy to see why. A rare restaurant in Flanders where everything is perfect: good food, a great atmosphere, and excellent value for money. I had a wonderful evening for a hen/stag do. DJ Hubert introduced us to his team of servers—a rare thing these days in a restaurant—so we knew who was taking care of our table, which was really nice. He also introduced us to the other guests' tables, where social barriers melted away and we all became friends for the evening. Music videos, current hits, and timeless classics... it was hard to choose between dancing and eating! 😅 The meal was hearty and well-presented, with quality meat. No complaints about the food or the service, even though it was quite a challenge to navigate the dance floor and deal with the complaints of the dissatisfied, but the smiles were always there! Our newlyweds left with stars in their eyes. Thank you, Laughing Pig. I recommend it.

30/06/2026: We were very disappointed with our evening on June 27, 2026. We came as a group of 28 people to celebrate the hen and stag parties of a couple getting married. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The owner seems to treat customers differently (a customer is a customer, after all) and didn't even bother to acknowledge the bride and groom in our group. The bartender was disrespectful, giving one of our friends the middle finger, and there was a billing error with an overcharge for a menu item. Furthermore, the portion sizes were appalling: a small piece of meat for the Flemish carbonnade and an enormous ramekin for the chicken with Maroilles cheese—very disappointing. We left very disappointed with this evening. An experience we do not recommend.

29/07/2026: A good menu with plenty of choice, including meat and salads, plus the option to eat on the outdoor terrace. The dishes are served quickly and hot. The staff are friendly and smiling.

24/07/2026: Honestly, not great. We ate in 30 minutes, ordered champagne with a small cake, and before we even had a chance to enjoy it, they took the cake away. We only got the carafe of water we asked for with dessert. I've been here often, but this was the last time.

01/07/2026: There's a big party (school prom?) happening at the chateau this evening. I would expect a hotel to notify its guests of such an event. I have a long travel day tomorrow and was expecting an early night (especially being mid-week).

24/04/2026: A very beautiful and charming hotel. It's a real treat to be able to work remotely from their garden overlooking the lake. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The only improvement worth noting is that they don't have a dinner menu; they might suggest what they have available at the time.
