21/02/2026: I stumbled upon this place online and have absolutely no regrets! Jean-Marie's warm welcome and his wife Solange's excellent cooking are top-notch. The menu has a limited selection, a testament to their quality, and there's also a daily specials board that can be combined with other dishes. Perhaps a minor criticism of the rum baba: it was very boozy and the cake was a bit too soft. But that's just my opinion. I recommend making a reservation; there are only about ten tables inside, and I booked online. Highly recommended!

08/02/2026: Passing through the region, we booked a table at La Petite Auberge on a whim. We weren't disappointed at all, quite the opposite! La Petite Auberge isn't just another restaurant... the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Jean-Marie went out of his way to serve us: detailed explanations of the menu, introductions to the team, a touch of humor... As for the dishes, they were all excellent. The cuisine is refined and authentic. A wonderful memory of this restaurant, which I highly recommend, and where we will gladly return if the opportunity arises. Thank you, Jean-Marie and Solange. 30/01/2026: Our first experience was on January 28th, and what a memorable one it was! The restaurant was excellent, with dishes combining refined presentation and exceptional flavor combinations. The "discovery" menu is definitely worth exploring, offering a series of delightful surprises to tantalize our taste buds. The service was attentive and impeccable! In the end, our conversation with the very engaging chef confirmed our desire to return very soon. Thank you all!

03/01/2026: I visited this establishment with the Josteta choir, which I already knew from a visit a few years ago. Honestly, the place is remarkable. The journey there alone is a lovely walk. The view from the terrace is splendid, almost unparalleled. Often, in this type of establishment where the view is paramount, the cuisine struggles to keep up; here, that's absolutely not the case. The food is rich, flavorful, and generous. If you're lucky enough to have lunch near the picture window, the experience becomes truly exceptional. The service is also top-notch: impeccable and attentive. This is a must-visit, a place you can go to with complete confidence.

17/01/2026: My wife and I spent two days at this very peaceful hotel-restaurant, just a stone's throw from Iraty. It was a real delight, from the authentic charm of the place (wooden beams, a beautiful dining room with a large fireplace and a bay window offering stunning views) to the exquisitely prepared, flavorful, and original meals. The room with its view of the valley was a true pleasure, calm and rejuvenating. The Etchemaite team is also excellent, always available and ready to assist guests with everything from dining to local excursions and activities. A wonderful experience; we will definitely be back.

05/01/2026: Ezkia restaurant in Bidart can be summed up in a few words: good food and local produce. Their approach is modern, eco-responsible market cuisine, where common sense and deep respect for the ingredients are paramount. Well-thought-out dishes, clean flavors, nods to Basque cuisine, and a menu dictated by seasonality. The atmosphere in the small dining room is calm and welcoming.

30/11/2025: I visited on Saturday, November 29th. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the experience, starting with the little golf cart that picked us up and took us to the restaurant. The welcome was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming, with our coats taken by the staff. The staff were excellent, very kind and respectful. We were immediately drawn into the atmosphere of the inn upon entering. The dining room was very intimate, simple yet adding to the charm of the experience. We began our meal with a magnificent view of the Basque mountains, which is the highlight of this place. The meal started with amuse-bouches that immediately set the tone for what was to come: incredibly comforting and delicate. The courses flowed seamlessly, each one of a high standard, featuring quality, locally sourced ingredients expertly prepared by Chef John Argaud. I highly recommend this place; the experience is incredible from beginning to end. Having opted for the signature menu, every course was exceptional, each offering a delightful surprise. I would have loved to try the truffle, which was unavailable, but otherwise, the meal was superb from start to finish. The excellent service, including the option to enjoy the petit fours on the terrace, was truly wonderful.

04/11/2025: A magical place!! The room with its fireplace was perfect for a romantic evening! We were welcomed like VIPs. The breakfasts, with their wide selection of homemade products, made us want to try everything!! And the view of the mountains and the estate... We also had dinner at the bistro-style restaurant and we LOVED it! PERFECT

08/02/2026: From the moment you arrive, you know you're in for a treat: Sandrine and her team are cool and welcoming. Inside, it's a truly authentic restaurant, with patina, posters, objects, and decor that tells a story. The menu is lovely, but it was the daily specials that impressed me the most: that's where they really let their creativity shine. The ttoro (their fish soup) is a truly comforting dish, generous, full of flavor, a classic to try and share. The desserts are to die for, especially the all-sheep's cheese dessert (crème brûlée + ice cream/sheep's cheese granita): incredible. The (very extensive!) wine list is solid, and we (often) chose wines from the La Grange Tiphaine estate. Everything is colorful, cheerful, cool, and delicious.
