06/04/2026: Absolutely perfect! A very friendly welcome, and the staff were dynamic and smiling. The kebab is excellent: the lamb, the white sauce, and the homemade bread are all delicious. I highly recommend it. Go without hesitation. I can't wait to go back.

06/04/2026: A small and welcoming hotel, very well maintained and with excellent staff. It's not in the city center, but if you have a car, that's not a problem. We really liked the area; it's right across from a river in a quiet neighborhood and about a 15-minute drive from the city center. We stayed during Easter week and had a wonderful time. We will definitely return if we go back to Bayonne.

06/04/2026: Everything was great, the receptionists were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good value for money, and the room and bed were quite comfortable.

30/12/2025: Excellent experience at a roadside restaurant! Even outside of normal hours and with the kitchen officially closed, they agreed to serve us a grilled steak with Roquefort sauce on the side, accompanied by a simply divine salad, rice, tagliatelle pasta, and French fries. The beers were great, and the lady who served us was very friendly, making an effort to speak to us in Portuguese.

09/01/2026: A warm and friendly welcome awaits you; the servers are smiling and approachable. The food is authentic and delicious. Finally, the atmosphere is pleasant and cheerful. It's best to book in advance, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays for the steak and fries!

20/03/2026: …disappointment with the service. The set menu was rushed through, and the menu was just as rushed because there was no printed list or chalkboard indicating the prices…!…Luckily I asked because they were trying to sell me a sirloin steak for €70 per kilo (presumably high quality)…without even telling me, since there was no printed list and therefore no price!…Is that legal? The owner made up for the waitress's poor service, but that doesn't excuse the lack of information…I'm of a certain age, but this is the first time I've been treated this way…they don't need the "tourists"…their business is made by the "locals"…good for them…

20/03/2026: No menu, no wine list displayed either outside or inside. The same goes for drinks. No clues whatsoever to help you choose. The welcome was more than unpleasant. They simply charge you a set daily menu, end of story. We were surprised by this restaurant concept. The manager, summoned by an irritated waitress, came to our table to explain the infamous menu and the option of a 350g sirloin steak with fries, depending on the cut (at 70 euros per kilo). It was impossible to get less unless you cut it in half with other diners. Perhaps original for many, but disconcerting for others, something we'd never seen before (though we're not from Béarn), even though we live in Pau. It's a shame because the interior of the tavern is authentic. We had hoped for a welcoming smile and friendly service.

25/12/2025: Is it still open?! On December 24th, it was listed as open until 6 PM on Google's special hours for that day, but in the end, the doors were closed. Not a word, nothing. Nobody there, even though we had driven across town to get there 😭 with my parents, who live 800km away and adore Pailhasson chocolates from Pau... I've been a customer since 2020, first in Tarbes and then in Pau, and I was so disappointed myself.

16/05/2026: Well-seasoned dishes, delicious pork, pleasant service, and a superb view. High-quality desserts, with a special mention for the Liège coffee coupe, made according to traditional methods—a rare find!

16/05/2026: Fantastic welcome and delicious food! The owners have changed, and the restaurant now offers excellent service with a very friendly and quick service. Magnificent view, quality food, we will gladly return ☀️

07/07/2025: June 24th at lunch, my birthday lunch. No ventilation or air conditioning that day. Very hot outside. 58 euro menu, probably a poor choice on my part, the free-range egg. Vomiting and nausea 2 hours after the meal. A distant welcome.

22/03/2026: A fantastic and very pleasant place. The terrace must be wonderful in the summer, and the waitress was very efficient and friendly. They were out of ribeye steak, so we switched to roast chicken—what a discovery! The chicken was amazing, highly recommended. The cider was quite good, and since no one was going near the barrels, there was no problem with the cider pouring. In short, we'll be back to try the ribeye steak, although personally, I fell in love with the roast chicken.

02/05/2026: After a somewhat mixed first visit in August 2024, we returned for a stay in Béarn. For me, Le Chalet is now the best restaurant in Salies, thanks to the quality of the ingredients, the superb decor, and the ambiance, which this time was a very pleasant and mellow concert – thank you Rosewoodcover! 😉 The owners are incredibly attentive, and it's clear they're invested in their establishment, as are their employees. I highly recommend it! 😊

09/05/2026: One of the few places that serves pintxos. They're excellent. We had a great time at this bar. Music, rugby match, darts, a nice indoor space away from the smokers on the terrace. Very good Pornstar Martini. I recommend it.
