19/02/2026: A typical Irish pub in Bayonne with a very wide selection of beers 🍺 and whiskeys. The young waiters and waitresses at the bar are extremely friendly. Large TV screens are well positioned for watching rugby matches 🏉, especially those of the local club, Aviron Bayonnais.

25/01/2026: The architecture alone is worth a visit to this restaurant. The friendly welcome from a waitress who seems to have borrowed her favorite painter's white overalls will lead you into the cider house, which we'll definitely be back to try. The lunch we recently had showcased a well-prepared selection of classic dishes, which could be complemented by pot-au-feu, herring with potatoes in oil, or calf's head with gribiche or ravigote sauce. Everything was good, but when I order steak tartare, I prefer to prepare it myself! Hygiene is no excuse. We recommend it.

27/02/2026: An unpretentious restaurant, perfect for meeting up with friends (which is exactly what we did), in a rugby-loving atmosphere and enjoying simple, hearty meals like grandma used to make. We shared a convivial experience at very reasonable prices (starter, main course, dessert, and coffee: €18.10), welcomed and served by a Biarritz rugby legend. Humor and simplicity reigned. No frills, the focus is on the food and the friendly banter. The atmosphere was filled with stories and wonderful moments from the Biarritz Olympique's glory days, and the spirit of two other pillars of the club—Serge Betsen and Serge Blanco—was palpable. (And many others besides.) Thank you, and see you soon, Soso!

17/10/2025: I think there are some crazy people who write reviews! We were expecting to walk into "Fawlty Towers" and intrigued by the challenge...we were greeted as soon as we entered by a friendly guy smiling widely. Everything was fresh and well stocked and he was proud of his goods - rightly so! Nice coffee and croissants ate in and lovely bread and Basque gateaux to go. He didn't speak English, he's French and our French is poor...our problem, not his. They start early AM baking, if you're gonna turn up late in the day and expect a full range, that's a you problem and if you are concerned that your bread is still warm when you buy it, then you are definitely crazy!

02/03/2026: This small pizza shop is one of the few things you will find open in this area this time of year on a Sunday evening. Pretty much takeaway for us - pretty small inside. The shop focused on pizza - they have several styles from the local basque, traditional and then pizzas from around the world. They have a number of wines, soft drinks, and even a local cider in their cooler. We were unsure of French pizza BUT - fresh ingredients and a great deal of love make for great pizza, and that's what you find here. The lady running the shop is multilingual, quite the charmer, and she makes a good pizza too! We went with a local basque flavor to try some of that famous ham - good call. Would do again - definitely recommend.

01/02/2026: I'm very disappointed. I bought a King Cake on Thursday, and I specifically asked the saleswoman if it was fresh that day; she assured me it was. But by the evening, the cake was already inedible, completely hard and dry—a disgrace! I can understand that it might be a day or more old, but then they shouldn't charge full price (€28) and should make that clear to their customers. I won't be back!

15/03/2026: It had been years since my last visit, and what a surprise! Nothing has changed. The son has taken over, and the kebab is still just as good. The service is top-notch. 24/03/2026: Highly recommended! Very friendly, young, and dynamic staff, the food was delicious and alternative, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. Even with the door open, the music masks the outside noise (cars, mopeds), and the pleasant salsa tones in the background aren't intrusive, creating an almost nostalgic South American flair. The unisex restrooms are very clean by Lucerne standards. We were lucky; the sun was shining, and there were many guests sitting outside on the terrace. There's a bench on the other side of the large front window. It's like meeting a friend for coffee or a light snack. All the prices are perfectly reasonable, and a balanced lunch in the sun with a delicious espresso is pure bliss. We had a few coffees (cappuccino, long coffee, decaf espresso) and a slice of their homemade orange cake. We left around 12:30 because of our departing train, but the bodega was already filling up with lunchtime guests. I felt transported back to my student days and reminded of my time living in a shared apartment 😍 Everyone was welcome, from young to old 😉 We were even greeted by a lovely canine guest. It was a very pleasant surprise to discover this little sunny bodega just around the corner from the train station. Five stars in every way! 👍😎

22/12/2025: We had a reservation, but despite that, the restaurant wasn't heated. I ended up freezing by the end of the meal; it's very unpleasant to eat in those conditions.

07/12/2025: Spectacular!!!! The waiter recommended the dishes to us. He was spot on with every choice!! He had a great sense of humor, and they speak perfect Spanish!! Thank you so much for everything!!! We'll definitely be back!!!

13/02/2026: We've been here several times for the sandwiches, and honestly, they're excellent. But our real favorite is the sharing platters with various meats and sides (raw vegetables, fries, etc.). They're definitely our top pick! The dishes are beautifully presented, whether you eat in or take away. And when you take away, everything is very well packaged and kept fresh. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the portions are very generous and delicious, with high-quality meats. In short, a fantastic place, I highly recommend it!

06/02/2026: We ordered a taco and a kebab to go and waited 45 minutes. Waiting because the place is full or because there's a large order, I can understand. But in our case, the cashier simply forgot to send the order to the kitchen. What's most annoying is that she came to where we were waiting, took the order slip, and left without a word. A simple "Excuse us, there was a mistake, your order is coming right away" would have been more than enough. This lack of communication and respect is truly unfortunate.
