22/12/2025: We had lunch at Kalaka today. The Burrata pasta and the Pad Thai were very good. A warm welcome and excellent value for money. Everything on the menu looked tempting, so we'll be back soon. Thank you!

25/02/2026: I rarely go to this bar, only with my friend Carmen, but the food is excellent, the cuisine is fantastic and very affordable. The staff is incredibly helpful and, above all, always smiling. As for the clientele, often regulars, they are very welcoming, just like the bar itself. They even say hello if they don't know you! A true hub of activity and conversation... not to be missed! Don't forget... the food is delicious, and if the sun is shining, you can eat on the terrace... pure bliss! 01/03/2026: I'm from Saint-Jean-de-Luz and I regularly eat at several restaurants in this beautiful town. I'm tired of seeing disparaging comments about the work of passionate restaurateurs. These people simply aren't "suited" to these places, so they can't judge the work objectively. We go to Le Petit Grill to: open our minds to wines we don't find at Nicolas, enjoy generous traditional cuisine and specials we won't find anywhere else (traditional Arroz, for example), and experience an atmosphere that takes us back a few years (I used to come to this restaurant for dinner 20 years ago with my parents, and my memories are still vivid) thanks to this new team. The noise is typical restaurant noise; for silence, there's the library. Thank you, and long live Le Petit Grill!

27/02/2026: A Frustrating Visit When I go out to eat, I look for fair and reasonable value for money, a warm and friendly welcome, and an atmosphere that pleases my eyes as much as my taste buds. Unfortunately, none of these aspects were present, in my opinion. The welcome was so-so and far from warm. The interior was dated and unrefined. And noisy. Starters were priced like main courses, but in miniature portions. Onion soup for €19. The fish, drowned in sauce, was served with a single potato and a few spinach leaves. I've lived in the Basque Country for a very long time, and I know many restaurants, both on the coast and inland. This restaurant doesn't compare to the excellent establishments we are fortunate enough to have.

11/01/2026: What a disgrace! Upon arrival, I ordered a €10 non-alcoholic cocktail, with no indication of the volume on the menu. The glass I was served was half full, filled with four enormous ice cubes (removed in the photo), making the price completely unjustified. Before even touching it, my friend and I immediately told the waiter that we wouldn't pay for the drink, as this was clearly unacceptable. The staff's reaction was appalling: the waiters, and one in particular, were looking at each other and laughing, then one of them became aggressive and unpleasant, staring intently at us. There was no attempt at dialogue or a solution (changing the glass, offering something else). The only response was: "You have to pay anyway; you're not leaving here without paying." To top it all off, we were told that we didn't even deserve the drink, or even a glass of water. The three waiters present were rude, extremely aggressive, and utterly unprofessional. I strongly advise against this establishment. Disrespectful service, complete bad faith, and absolutely no business sense.

10/01/2026: Disappointed with my experience… I had been coming to this bar regularly for a while. My friend and I ordered a cocktail and a mocktail. When the mocktail was served, we were very surprised by the quantity. A small glass with four large ice cubes. Once removed, there wasn't even half the liquid left. The servers offered no compensation whatsoever, were aggressive ("you don't even deserve a glass of water"), and behaved arrogantly and insultingly. In short, not worthy of this establishment.

06/01/2026: Very disappointed by this far from satisfactory experience! I usually go to You Sushi in Lons, but since I was in the city center, I decided to try Sushi Shop. I ordered online using a €5 referral code, paying in-store for my first order. They asked me to pay €21.70 instead of €16.70 because the €5 was being added to some kind of account! But what account? Anyway, caught off guard, I paid the full amount, but after thinking about it, I find it very strange. It's impossible to file a complaint on the chain's website. First and last time, avoid this place; there's no shortage of sushi in Pau.

20/11/2025: I'm giving one star for the staff's smiles. To begin with, there was no heating; we were told it would warm up with the crowds. No Beaujolais Nouveau was offered on its release day. There was no choice of menu; it was a set menu for workers, even though the website makes no mention of this and there's a nice menu with good ingredients. We managed to get the duck breast with honey sauce listed on the menu, but it didn't have the sauce. According to them, we should have specified when ordering that we wanted it. Apparently, according to the owner, this restaurant will close and reopen in January. It's best to wait for the reopening before going.

19/10/2025: A really pleasant time spent, both in terms of the setting, the welcome and the dishes, TOP quality/price. The staff was super friendly and also gave my little dog an exceptional welcome. Being from the region, I don't know it, and well, I'm sure I'll come back. Thank you very much.

23/12/2025: Warning: homophobic bar. They refused to sell cigarettes to a gay man, but sold them to a straight man (who then came to order for the gay man) three minutes later. We are outraged, what a disgrace!!!

29/01/2026: It was a stop after a Harley ride... great welcome. Very friendly. Very good meal. Simple things are the best. Thanks again for this great time, it was worth the extra cost. See you soon!

You were super friendly and I have never tasted pizza like yours we loved you family friendly place and if we ever are passing through ascain will surely come for your amazing pizza . Thank you so much for a lovely memory and making us feel so welcome . Also the beer was fantastic .

12/10/2025: We arrived around 7:45 p.m. We sat down and began to look at the menu. After a while, we got up to order because the woman didn't come over when she left. She reluctantly told us she couldn't serve us because she'd run out of items. Not only that, but we spent an hour and a half later and they were still serving us. The service was disgraceful.

17/01/2026: Passing through Biarritz, we went to eat there because we were craving good Thai food... Total disappointment! The quality of the ingredients (not homemade at all) was poor, with a very industrial taste. For the price, I found it expensive. The service was incredibly slow... (although the welcome was pleasant). The floor and tables were sticky. A shame. We won't be going back. As a fan of Thai restaurants, this one didn't live up to my expectations. Best of luck nonetheless. 😊

21/01/2026: Very disappointed, it was very cold in the dining room. We suggested to the waitress that she light the fire in the fireplace, but received no response. The daily special wasn't great, and as for dessert, the blueberry tart was frozen!

17/01/2026: We were only offered the set menu, no à la carte options. We were served rice instead of the fries listed on the menu, without any explanation. The starter was served quickly, but we had to wait for the main course…

08/03/2026: Dinner Saturday night with 4 friends: friendly and quick service, more than enough raclette and fondue, a very generous and tasty plate of baby squid, a good wine list, excellent desserts (ganache +++++++) and the owner and waitresses were full of humor and good advice… I highly recommend it, see you soon!

28/02/2026: A bit disappointed. A raclette for three people with the same quantity as for two, and since we were standing right outside the kitchen, we could see the plates being taken out for other tables. Really disappointing; I wouldn't recommend it for the portion sizes.
