08/03/2026: Dinner Saturday night with 4 friends: friendly and quick service, more than enough raclette and fondue, a very generous and tasty plate of baby squid, a good wine list, excellent desserts (ganache +++++++) and the owner and waitresses were full of humor and good advice… I highly recommend it, see you soon!

28/02/2026: A bit disappointed. A raclette for three people with the same quantity as for two, and since we were standing right outside the kitchen, we could see the plates being taken out for other tables. Really disappointing; I wouldn't recommend it for the portion sizes.

19/11/2025: Takeout order, 2 couscous dishes: 1 four-meat couscous 1 merguez couscous with double merguez sausage. Frozen chicken, frozen lamb, all wrapped in foil with no regard for proper hygiene. The photo speaks for itself. And the man on the phone told us, "Sir, even if the chicken is 2 or 3 days old and has been in the fridge, it's fine." Shameful.

17/03/2026: Excellent stay at the Auberge l'Estanquet in Urt! The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was spotless every day, and there was a lovely view of the village square. I ate very well throughout my stay; the meals were hearty and delicious! Absolutely nothing to complain about; the all-inclusive package for around €100 per night is fantastic value for money, well done! 🌶️

11/11/2025: I came on September 28th and was unfortunately very disappointed not to find the former owner, Gildas, there. The food was nothing like it used to be. For a starter, the warm goat cheese should be at least a small Crotin or Rocamadour, but instead it was just a piece of goat cheese from a cheap log on three small pieces of bread. The main course, the duck confit, was just a leg straight out of a can, tasteless and of course without any sauce. Perhaps it was too complicated to prepare. And if only the fries were homemade, not just delivered by a supplier. Oh, and I almost forgot, there was a spider in the salad! Seriously, when you own such an establishment, especially one facing La Rhune mountain, it's a shame. Sir, I am contacting you again following your disingenuous response. Living 700 kilometers away, I had no way of knowing that Gildas had recently sold the business, so I had no preconceived notions. Regarding the sauce that was supposed to accompany the duck confit ("duck leg"), given the wide selection in your response, it would have been more sensible to offer it when ordering, not during the service I requested. The response I received was, "No sauce available, but we can prepare some in 10 to 15 minutes"—a joke! And of course, if I follow your reasoning, I should avoid waiting 10 to 15 minutes hoping for a pat of butter to accompany the country ham and cheese, which would have enhanced the presentation. I should have informed the cow, the farmer, and the dairy of my arrival. No, sir, I'm not grumbling in a corner. I did make my concerns known at the checkout, and the response I received was, "I cannot give you a satisfactory answer as I am not the chef." And as it seems to me that you Gildas, please don't use these photos on your website. Sir, when you practice one of the most beautiful professions in the world, you live by its motto. Perfection doesn't exist, you can always do better, there are weaknesses, days when things don't go well, simple cooking is the most complicated thing there is. Joël Rebuchon

14/02/2026: The waitress was very helpful and attentive. There were very few sandwich options at noon. The quality and quantity of the food seemed to have declined. There were very few pizza choices. We bought a croque monsieur, a sandwich, and a wrap… the special offers on the exterior were faded by the sun and almost illegible. It looked neglected. The moss and dirt on the sign also suggested neglect. It's been a nice establishment for years, but here they need to improve the selection, the recipes, and the upkeep of the place.

29/01/2026: Honestly, I don't understand the 4.1 rating. We were extremely disappointed. There was no choice, the staff were incredibly unfriendly and unkind, and everything was truly awful—absolutely nothing good. Even the chips were soggy. We ordered a wok with garlic sauce, and I ended up with curry. The hygiene is appalling… Avoid this place!

21/03/2026: A very enjoyable evening; the owner, Basile, is very warm and welcoming! The rib of beef and the veal chop were perfect… perfectly cooked and of superb quality! The side of fries AND salad was delicious… with 80s-style background music… Small dining room for an intimate atmosphere…

27/12/2025: The cookies were delicious, the service was excellent, we had ordered the savory and sweet ones separately, and they recommended we order the "special offer". The atmosphere of the place was wonderful, a quiet and welcoming spot. As soon as we sat down, they put a bottle of fresh water on the table. We had a very pleasant meal there.
