03/09/2026: I chose this restaurant based on customer reviews, the Petit Futé guide, and photos. I was disappointed because it was far from what I'd heard when I visited. The menu and presentation were completely different from when we went. While the food itself was good, it didn't live up to the ratings in the customer reviews and the Petit Futé guide. So, a disappointment, but not bad.

02/09/2026: We ordered tartar was good, octopus chipiron was good but monkfish was with bad spoiled smell ( two of us order it, and both of us felt it was not good). We told the lady who was the manager there... she refused to listen And asked to pay in full. Very strange approach, we were very nice to her and paid in full. Unfortunately this was our worst experience for all our stay in France

25/08/2026: The value for money is poor: it's expensive. They charge €4.50 for a Coke and €2.40 for an iced coffee, which I couldn't even drink because it was so bad (they put the ice in the cup and poured the hot coffee straight from the machine). What they call sangria is nothing like it; it's a pitcher of cheap wine with ice, and they charge €14 for half a liter. The wait was excessive, and the service was generally very unfriendly. One waiter seemed like he was owed money and hadn't been paid. He was rude and unpleasant to one of my children who was simply sitting at a table waiting. However, to be fair, I want to mention one woman who was the only pleasant and attentive person we had. Not recommended at all.

17/08/2026: Mediocre. This restaurant has nothing to offer except its shaded terrace overlooking the Nive River and its location at the foot of the Hotel Le Bayonne (useful if you arrive late). The food is truly mediocre, the dishes bland. The Caesar salad wasn't great; the lettuce leaves were wilted: you could tell it had just come out of the refrigerator 😝 and had no taste. The hot dish was of the same ilk, taken straight from the fridge and reheated. Far too average for the very high price we were charged. Seriously: if you can, walk towards the city center and you can eat quite decently by the Nive.

03/09/2026: Chortoya Cottage We booked this cottage for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is very pleasant, clean, spacious, and perfectly maintained. The only slight drawback is that the kitchen is a bit small, but it's still functional and has everything you need to prepare meals. Our interactions with the owners were particularly warm. We thank them for their trust and availability, despite their absence during our stay. We simply regret not having had the opportunity to try their cooking, which we'd heard so much about. A good reason to come back next time!

26/08/2026: Yeah, 20 minutes for a carafe of water, nobody takes the order during that time, a waitress who doesn't acknowledge anyone and doesn't even say hello, the dishes are good but not excessive and a cold hamburger on top of that with a presentation unworthy of a 4 star, a flop for sure and also you can hear the conversations between servers and that's not great.

It's like stepping back into the 80s: simple, hearty dishes, old-fashioned cutlery and tables, simple yet sturdy, and service with paper orders (internet outages won't affect this). In short, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, which took me right back to my youth... thank you!!!

15/12/2025: Full little restaurant bar situated at the train station where you can watch the trains wooshhhh by as you are eating a delicious locally sourced meal or an expertly prepared cocktail. A fun experience to take in while visiting Guethary!
