I didn't like a local dish, not because it wasn't well-prepared, but because it wasn't to my taste. And yet, when the bill arrived, it wasn't charged and without me even being told. Such excellent customer service! Thank you, and the waitress was very friendly and smiling.

14/01/2026: A fantastic place to eat in Lille. The food is excellent, the steak with eggs is delicious and high quality. Be sure to save room for dessert: their walnut tart is incredible! A real treat in a very pleasant brasserie atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

The breakfast is excellent, with plenty of choice and delicious local products. The owner's cooking is exceptional; we enjoyed a stopover while cycling the Scandinavian Way and had a truly outstanding meal. The staff, servers, and owner all offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

06/04/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic Easter weekend at Château de la Motte in Liessies! The Easter menu was simply exceptional: generous, flavorful cuisine with excellent value for money. Special mention goes to the rack of lamb, perfectly paired with a very good red wine. The children's menu is also very well thought out: our daughter loved it! We also spent the night there in a very comfortable family room, with two separate areas and a lovely bathroom. A hearty breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. A warm welcome, impeccable service, and the kind of family atmosphere we love. We completely understand why the establishment is celebrating its 90th anniversary! A must-visit in the Avesnois region — we will definitely be back! 👍

The food was excellent: the dishes were very good, beautifully presented, and the menu offered enough variety to please everyone. However, the €7.50 supplement for a burrata seemed excessive. The service was a pleasant surprise. Despite the restaurant being almost full, we were served quickly. The staff was warm, smiling, and very friendly. The main drawback was the atmosphere in the main dining room. The noise level was extremely high, with the sounds of the kitchen, the clattering of dishes, and conversations from other tables. It was difficult to have a quiet conversation, whether as a family or a couple. Furthermore, it was particularly hot inside. Fortunately, the staff kindly moved us to a covered terrace. The atmosphere there was much more pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. In summary, I recommend this restaurant for the quality of its food and service. However, if you're looking for a quiet and convivial meal, opt for the terrace or outdoor seating when available.
