11/11/2024: The moral is that in the “Hospitality Business” sector, it is imperative to be welcoming and respectful towards everyone, and not just towards regular customers or acquaintances because you never know who you are dealing with… After having lunch in group in this establishment, as a customer, I returned on a Saturday evening to order a takeaway other than pizza. I was confronted with a deplorable welcome from the owner's daughter, in a restaurant that was practically empty that evening. His lack of business sense and kindness manifested itself in curt and sometimes insolent responses to simple questions. I was surprised to find that they didn't offer takeout, and when I asked if I could bring my own container, the response was particularly curt, whereas in many nearby pizzerias it is possible. to take away all the dishes and that the welcome is much warmer. Despite my hesitations about returning since this summer, when I was confronted with a humiliating and aggressive welcome from the owner, I still decided to share my experience on Google Maps. Additionally, I noticed that he seemed to encourage his friends and customers to immediately post positive reviews to outweigh the negative ones, which is against Google Maps policies. This manipulation is frowned upon by other restaurateurs, in particular because of the closing times at 9 p.m., a subject of ridicule among them. Finally, I find it unacceptable that customers already seated are refused the possibility of ordering a pizza one minute after 9 p.m., under the pretext that the kitchen is closed…. Unfortunately, his responses to comments leave something to be desired, with no professional apology to any of the objective but negative comments about his restaurant, nor any acknowledgment of the problems encountered. Read carefully the violent response to come which will confirm the mind of the owner...

25/01/2026: What's going on at this restaurant??? It had been a while since we'd been there, and it's definitely changed... We arrived at 1 p.m., and the buffet was already almost empty... The food quality was mediocre (especially the shrimp)... The dishes weren't very clean, and the state of the dining room left much to be desired... In the end, it was expensive for what we ate...

17/01/2026: We arrived a little late, towards the end of service (1:30 pm), but we were greeted with a smile and kindness. Some dishes were already empty, but the waitress, seeing that we wanted more, had the kitchen prepare some for us. She also asked if anything else was missing. She mentioned that many of the products were homemade. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a lovely time together as a family. I recommend it.

23/11/2025: Unbeatable location in Place Louis XIV. We went with high expectations and the team at La Txalupa delivered. We started with a textbook Foie Gras: perfect texture and intense flavor. But the undisputed star is the Sole Plantxa (Sole). At €38 a dish, you expect quality, and they certainly delivered; fresh product, treated with absolute respect. Honorable mention to the wine (Gascogne Big Blc), a fantastic discovery for €22 that pairs beautifully with the fish. The service was surprisingly attentive and efficient for a tourist spot. The only downside: €5 for half a liter of Vittel water seems like highway robbery, but we forgive them for the final Gateau Basque. Recommended if you want quality and don't mind the price.

10/11/2025: A fantastic find at the end of October; everything was perfect, from the welcome to the dessert. A very warm welcome, a beautiful restaurant, a delicious meal with high-quality ingredients—what more can you say when everything is perfect, except that we highly recommend it!

01/02/2026: I'm very disappointed. I bought a King Cake on Thursday, and I specifically asked the saleswoman if it was fresh that day; she assured me it was. But by the evening, the cake was already inedible, completely hard and dry—a disgrace! I can understand that it might be a day or more old, but then they shouldn't charge full price (€28) and should make that clear to their customers. I won't be back!

The first dish is brought to us at the same time as the aperitif, too bad, and then after 1 hour of waiting the dish served is almost cold, we send it back to the kitchen 3 times, no better. To end it all, my friend didn't get what she ordered. In short, nothing is going well. We lost our patience and asked for the bill; the only commercial gesture was to offer us an aperitif. The very embarrassed waiter does not understand what is happening in the kitchen. Table that I absolutely do not recommend. We came for dinner on Wednesday September 4 in the evening.
