31/12/2024: Great discovery, top service for this unpretentious pizzeria refined and delicious dishes.

10/12/2024: La Strada now renamed L'arcane could be good, but wasn't. We chose to eat there because they have a wood-fired oven, which is usually a basic guarantee of pizza quality, but our pizza bases were soft, doughy and under-cooked, so the topping soaked into the dough creating a sloppy mess that made pizza inedible. This was doubly unfortunate because they used good quality flour and good quality fresh ingredients that were spoiled by the badly cooked base. As a bit of a pizza purist, I'd been hoping for nothing more elaborate than a basic well-made Napolitaine with black olives and anchovies. Unfotunately nothing so simple was available, so we had to opt for something more elaborate, whose topping, rather surprisingly was mixed with slightly warmlettuce and mache. They really need to keep it simple and master the basics before attempting more fanciful variations on classic pizza. Our bill came to 45€ for two inedible pizzas and a half bottle pichet of pinot. Finally, later in the evening had indigestion of the sort that I associate with eating bread from bakery chains that use rising agents rather than proper sourdough.

12/10/2025: We had lunch there today. The meal was a success, the meat was cooked perfectly. Impeccable service, responsive and very friendly waitresses, the young ladies are really great, keep it up girls.

27/10/2025: Charming pizzeria in Alençon. We really liked their pizzas. The crust was thin but good and crispy. We ordered the cheese one and the one with bacon, ham, and coppa. Good value for money for the pizzas. A little disappointed with the desserts (tiramisu and chocolate fondant), but we plan to return for their pizzas. The service was fast and pleasant, attentive without being overbearing.

17/11/2025: I think the pizzeria has closed permanently. Sadly. Very good pizzas... I recommend it.

22/09/2024: Accueil plus pou moins chaleureux. Cependant assiette de charcuterie copieuse et gourmande. Pizza correcte. En revanche au niveau de la notes à 3 nous devions payer 45 euros à 3 soit pour une pizza et deux bières cela fait lourd. Or ce petit incident a été régler immédiatement. En revanche nous aimons beaucoup y aller manger avec mon conjoint

24/10/2025: Lovely restaurant but the problem is in the plate. Sad plate of salmon without presentation or taste, half of rosé out of a cubi, very basic Caesar salad, the Roquefort sauce of the pasta without much taste either, frozen fries but very good meat. For dessert the white lady was very good and the gourmet coffee good too except for the mango cream where the texture was really particular (according to my tastes of course). The service rather non-existent, no one asked us how the meal was going. I really expected better given the comments so really disappointed, shame.

30/11/2025: A truly delightful discovery! We got a table for 10 without a reservation at 9 pm, and they really delivered. The portions were huge and delicious, all at very reasonable prices—we loved it! The servers had a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.

20/11/2025: Special mention: No heating in the middle of winter makes it difficult to have lunch in a down jacket and, above all, prevents any real relaxation. The excuse given was, "It's not working!" The food was a bit too greasy but tasty, and the service was pleasant.

19/09/2025: Very bad experience with a server (or the boss?) with gray hair who outright threw the menu in our face and spoke very badly to us, we were clearly not welcome. The white wine tasted of vinegar, frankly we didn't understand. We are from Nice and we have never been treated like that. So since there is a gay bar opposite, they probably don't want "this clientele" to overflow into their place and so we were mistreated for this purpose, because unless they did it on purpose, I don't see.

11/09/2025: We're always warmly welcomed at Café du Pin! Excellent service and a varied menu make it the perfect place for a drink with friends!

10/12/2024: A restaurant that helps when you're hungry. The menu is not exceptional but a wide choice of pizzas is offered. The welcome is smiling. A dish and a bottle of sparkling water for €29 is still super expensive and brings the rating down to three stars.
