18/06/2026: Beautiful location in old town with a really great atmosphere (we were there early evening mid week and still very buzzy) and great friendly service. Mains where pretty good, well presented and good portions but the Creme Brule was not.

18/06/2026: The meal was very good, but there was a major mishap upon arrival: coffee was spilled on my polo shirt and shorts, with little apology or attention. Two complimentary coffees and two regular coffees as compensation didn't make up for the dry cleaning. The stain on the polo shirt is now impossible to remove. A bad memory...

10/05/2026: The food is good and the setting is beautiful. However, the staff...meh...four of them behind the counter, they all stare at us but don't move... The waiter slams the pitcher on the table. The dishes still haven't arrived, it's 2:00 PM...we arrived at 12:45 PM...maybe they've gone to fish for salmon and slaughter the beef for the stew... It's the same every time I come. I come to please my parents who like the place...but this time will be the last. We must not be good enough for them... Not even a goodbye when we leave...

01/07/2026: The complimentary salad wasn't offered, and we had to ask for bread after our meal because none was brought to us beforehand. A measly carafe of water to share between 13 people. And a waitress who was borderline rude... Not to mention the deplorable quality of the food compared to a restaurant of the same chain, located 20 minutes away. (A quarter of the beef was fat, and the chicken tenders were half the size of those at the other restaurant...) I don't recommend this restaurant; go to other restaurants in the same chain, but not the one in Petite Forêt.

29/05/2026: A nice, casual brasserie just across the border in France. We dined here on a summer evening on the cozy garden terrace at the back. The staff is friendly, but they only speak French. And that is a bit of a downside, especially considering you are just across the border. Belgium is a stone's throw away. You would expect them to know Flemish, wouldn't you? Or otherwise English. The food is delicious. The menu is what you would expect from a brasserie.

29/05/2026: We were a bit worried it was closed, but luckily everyone was sitting in the back garden. We were warmly welcomed and well taken care of. A real gem.

17/11/2025: If you have some time to spare, it's the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a meal at the Auberge. The presentation of the dishes is exquisite. Everything is homemade and seasonal. After several visits, the quality-to-price ratio is consistently excellent, and it's always a true culinary discovery. You're pampered with complimentary accompaniments, from aperitifs to coffee. There's always a little something extra: bread, butter, marshmallows, speculoos... And a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In a charming setting. You can choose between the set menu and the à la carte menu. Antonin is also very knowledgeable about the drinks menu (spirits, wines, beer, etc.) and will be happy to help you find the perfect pairing for your meal, tailored to your preferences.

The staff is both highly professional and extremely friendly, making every visit a pleasure. Special mention goes to the warm welcome, which has remained consistently excellent over the years—you feel right at home. A must-try! I recommend it 100%!
