23/08/2024: I woke up this morning craving a pizza I ate 3 months ago on a totally different continent. It's called the Country (crème fraîche, mozzarella, minced meat, potato, goat cheese), and it's quite unique and quite delicious. While we were in Roubaix I ordered one, ate half and took the leftovers back to the hotel, only to wake up at 2 am to finish the pizza because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I've never done that before. I ate two more that week. By the way it's also still delicious cold or dried out.

15/08/2024: I came this afternoon with family, we tasted the gratins and pasta which were excellent, I highly recommend quality cuisine

19/09/2024: I love the all-you-can-eat formula served at the table with the little card to mark according to your wishes

18/09/2024: So many changes and what a disappointment. We go there very often and appreciate both the welcome and the food. Today, no more small hot and scented napkins before eating the meal, evening formula reduced to 3 orders, sautéed squid which is no longer sautéed or decorated with a sauce, recurring and oppressive passages to pick up our plates while we we haven't finished, changes of servers (before it must have been young students who were smiling and very pleasant)... In short, big disappointment, the last one for us this evening of fireworks

05/12/2025: As a regular customer of this chip shop, I have nothing to complain about regarding the service and the food offered. The team is efficient and does its best to satisfy customers even when it's busy. You can go there with your eyes closed!

26/02/2025: your explanations for your closure are more than risky you know very well that the covid crisis plus the economic crisis plus the transformation of the Place d'Arme into a pedestrian zone which caused the surrounding businesses to lose 40% of their customers plus the closure of the Passage des Flanders on December 3 completed the disaster in just 3 months 10 license 4 establishments (bars bistros restaurants) closed for bankruptcy! in Valenciennes you are the 10th and everyone noted this so as not to incriminate the municipal team when it is the turn of the SET I wonder how you will react! note: responding to a dissatisfied customer the day before the permanent closure of the establishment that you are going to improve the table service is at the highest level!

30/09/2024: Not possible to put zero!!! We went to eat with friends (group of 5 people) One of our friends didn’t eat! LUCK We got food poisoning!!! Unable to sleep vomiting, diarrhea... TO RUN AWAY!!!! Never come Not a single dish that was good by the way

27/04/2025: 1 time again I am disappointed today to be sure of not having an error I made a small order.. I never put an opinion but this is too much!! Even on 1 Large Fry at €4.50 he manages to cheat and put a small Fry. But when he cashes in he's not wrong!! They are thieves. Establishment to flee!! I hope you will close because there is nothing professional in this establishment...

08/09/2024: Excellent address if you like Sovoyard dishes and not only that. Very warm welcome. The products are fresh, the dishes are copious. We go there regularly.

07/09/2024: It's no longer like before... overcooked crouton on the board, plate barely filled with 3 slices of cold meats fighting a duel, no salad, no bread, without forgetting that we forget you, for this last, we were offered the plaque as compensation

21/08/2024: Positive points: Excellent food, good value for money Cons: Waiting too long Poorly placed dark place at the back of the restaurant Disappointment for the coffee which at first was served barely hot and especially not an espresso like we like in the restaurant.

05/01/2025: Disappointing... here's what we call a large fry at Gaiguette... That's changed a lot in a while... We pay the price of a large fry for a portion like this. Very disappointed, this is not the first time, each time we tell ourselves that it will be fine, that it is surely a mistake but no.

06/11/2024: A very good chip shop, a rather friendly welcome and reasonable prices. Too bad no credit card because it's always annoying to go to the ATM. In any case I recommend.

01/10/2024: The Lille coat of arms mussels, as well as the fries. Remove this one from the restaurant name...unsalted mussels with only the maroille on top. Fries kept warm under the lamps....go your way even if the service tries to attract you warmly.
