05/08/2026: We went to the shop for lunch one day. We had a wonderful meal! The dishes were delicious, not to mention the desserts!! I really like the atmosphere and the shop is very nice.

The staff repeatedly gave us conflicting information about when the kitchen would open—first “soon,” then 6:30 PM, and later it was still unavailable even at 7:30 PM. There was no clear information on the website, Google, or in the restaurant that food was only served during certain hours. After wasting almost two hours waiting, we had to leave hungry. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.

30/07/2026: Always great!! I go to this place regularly, and I must say that the welcome from the young lady who's the manager is incredibly friendly!! The ribeye steak is very good, and the fries are too. Would I go back? Absolutely!!

18/07/2026: It was quiet in the middle of the week. I was warmly welcomed. I ordered beef skewers. The meat was tender. A pleasant place if you want to feel like you're in a riad for a while.

Honestly, from start to finish, everything was impeccable! 10/10 ❤️ A fantastic welcome, a lovely and incredibly professional waitress who managed the entire dining room single-handedly, even with a very large table of about twenty people… and despite that, everything was perfectly under control! 👏 And then the food… absolutely divine! 😍 I had the homemade foie gras, simply succulent. My husband chose the snails in garlic butter, also delicious 🤤. And for our main course, we had the fish casserole: a real treat! 🐟❤️ All accompanied by an excellent little white wine recommended by the waitress… perfect! And what can I say about the owner? A lovely person, super friendly and truly warm! 🥰 She even let me spin the wheel of fortune 🎡 and I won a glass of champagne for our next visit! 🍾🥂 A small gesture that was truly appreciated and perfectly reflects the friendly atmosphere of this place. It was honestly one of the best moments we've had since arriving in Dunkirk. A place I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone passing through the area. 👉 I recommend it 1000%! ❤️ We will definitely be back… and even more excited for our little glass of champagne! 😂🥂🍾

So we asked for ice: we were brought… just one single ice cube per glass. Needless to say, it didn't have time to work its magic. It's a shame, because with such high prices, one naturally expects a corresponding level of service. -- Response to the establishment: Thank you for your response, but unfortunately, it doesn't really reflect our experience. Regarding the "bargain prices," we didn't even bother looking at the menu: €5.80 for a 25cl Affligem draft beer and €4.80 for a Coke already seemed high enough to give us an idea of ​​the establishment's price range and not to continue with a meal. As for the ice cubes, I think there's also a misunderstanding: the problem isn't that the ice melted quickly. The drinks were served to us hot or barely chilled, and that's precisely why we had to ask for ice. We were then given only one ice cube per glass. The "natural phenomenon" mentioned in your response doesn't really explain the situation. As for the "exceptional crowd," when we sat down on the terrace around noon, it was practically empty. Finally, when I mention the kindness and professionalism of your waitress, I'm not "nuancing" my comment: I'm simply distinguishing between the quality of service provided by an employee and the overall service of the establishment. She was very pleasant, and I stand by that compliment. However, I am quite surprised by the tone of your response, which seems more intent on disputing every comment than on listening to a customer's experience. And, on a more personal note, its highly standardized wording strongly suggests an AI-generated response. If that is indeed the case, I find it regrettable that a customer review doesn't warrant a few minutes of personal attention from management. My initial comment simply recounted our experience. Your response, unfortunately, only confirms our impression.

04/02/2026: It's a real struggle to get a quote! I envy those who have had the good fortune to use La Gourmandine's services, as we're having such a hard time getting in touch with them. After several email exchanges asking for details for an ESTIMATE and several follow-ups: still no quote. We were asked to come to the wedding fair to make contact, which we did, and gave them our information again with the promise of a quote "early next week." No news for a week, and another follow-up resulted in a message left on their answering machine asking for "additional information"... Good luck to anyone trying to get a quote; we're giving up.

15/08/2026: A truly wonderful experience at the Royal Hainaut, celebrating my mother's 70th birthday on August 8th. We dined at La Galerie restaurant, the one with the long, narrow dining room adorned with numerous portraits. The setting was absolutely magnificent, perfectly reflecting the charm of this historic building. It was a truly wonderful experience. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, polite, and attentive—truly worthy of this type of establishment. We enjoyed a delicious meal, with excellent dishes and pleasant service. Having heard about my mother's birthday, he even had the thoughtful touch of placing a small candle on her dessert, without us even asking. A small gesture, but one that truly made the moment special. I also asked him if he could take some photos of us to capture the day. He kindly agreed, with a smile. In short, a superb meal, an exceptional setting, a warm welcome, and above all, a beautiful memory for my mother's birthday. Thank you to the team at La Galerie and especially to our server for these thoughtful touches which helped make this day even more special.

07/08/2026: Very disappointed with this hotel considering the price and the promised amenities. We had to try three different rooms to find a decent one (and even then, it was questionable) after having to move because the hotel's air conditioning was incredibly noisy at night and early in the morning. The decor is outdated (Formica, carpet everywhere) and the hotel is in dire need of renovation/modernization (worn-out seals, an 80s-era telephone with no reception number, maintenance work not carried out by the technician who had recently been there...). The reception area isn't marked at the entrance (it's indistinguishable from the reception of the gourmet restaurant, with no sign indicating it), and no one was there to greet us upon arrival despite what's posted. Consequently, we didn't receive a parking pass for the hotel's private lot; fortunately, parking is free outside. Another drawback is the lack of shutters or blackout curtains (only roller blinds), so you'll be woken up as early as 6:30 or 7:00 AM if you're sensitive to light. The only positive points are the air conditioning (otherwise it's 32 degrees Celsius in the second-floor rooms) and the bedding. The restaurant staff were very kind to us in trying to find a solution to the noise problem, but the receptionist (to whom we returned the keys upon our departure four days later) didn't show much empathy when she learned of our difficulties and our room change. In short, we didn't feel like we were staying in a 3-star hotel, and given the location (Seclin isn't an amazing town), paying over €100 a night is too expensive.

04/08/2026: Le Bistro du Forgeron restaurant: perfect location in the city center, small parking lot for customers, a good selection on the menu, generous portions, reasonable prices, fresh and elegant cuisine, and very attentive service. Simple and friendly atmosphere; well-maintained establishment. We had a lovely and long lunch celebrating our birthday.

13/03/2026: I recently discovered Dumplings and Co in Lille and it was a very pleasant experience. The pork and chive dumplings were particularly tasty, perfectly cooked, and generously filled. I also appreciated the modern decor with its subtle Asian touches. A big thank you to Julie, the waitress, for her warm welcome and helpful advice about the menu. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is quick. A great place to enjoy dim sum in the city center. 🍜🥟
