21/08/2026: Very warm welcome, pleasant setting. The food was good, although perhaps a little more charcuterie could be included in the cheese dishes.

18/07/2026: Our little summer routine for the past five years: we rarely go a day without stopping by for a drink and/or a crêpe. Occasionally, we'll have a light meal. In short, we always have great times with a super welcome and amazing omelets... And an unforgettable evening with the fireworks. A little discovery this year: the warm goat cheese salad—delicious!

05/03/2026: The pros: magical location, cleanliness, and the service, which has improved considerably this year. The cons: the food: firstly, it's a self-service restaurant, and secondly, the food selection is basic, incomparable to most mountain restaurants in Megève—for example—yet the prices reflect those of mountain restaurants. That said, the food is quite well cooked, coffee aside. Note a comment made today to an English-speaking customer: the manager is anti-Trump to the point of boycotting Coca-Cola. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even to the point of missing Khamenei, but it seems to me that in business, one should refrain from sharing it.

22/09/2025: Poor quality bike, and clearly not maintained! The chain keeps coming off and is so seized up that it even stops going downhill! Ride a few more kilometers and you'll find much better quality bikes for the same price!

04/09/2026: Alsatians passing through Chamonix. Very warm welcome and good food with a beautiful sunset on the roof of the world.

28/08/2026: It's such a shame to leave a negative review when I had absolutely nothing to do with it… We were simply ignored by the three waiters, who preferred to look over our shoulders to watch the start of the UTMB. They really acted as if we were invisible, and were surprised when we left to eat somewhere else!

05/07/2026: Last night we saw on the Black Cat's Instagram account that entry was free. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and had to pay €10 to get in! It's completely unacceptable to engage in false advertising! We'll never go back to the Black Cat again.

13/08/2026: Avoid at all costs. Two hours for a pathetic hamburger, frozen fries, and overcooked meat. Stay away.

07/08/2026: A terrible experience, I strongly advise against going there! I waited 45 minutes for only 6 crepes, even though the restaurant was empty. The staff was unfriendly and completely disorganized; no one communicated with each other. Three out of the six crepes weren't even the ones I ordered. The crepes were cold, dry, and tasteless, the cheese was hard, and the fried egg was practically hard as well. Even the fries were tasteless. In short, avoid this place! Very disappointed, especially considering the price.

06/09/2026: The waiter was unfriendly and we were never served. Avoid at all costs.

24/08/2026: Contrary to reviews about the waitresses' friendliness, we found them very smiling and kind. The prices are very reasonable. However, the hygiene leaves much to be desired; I had a lipstick mark on the "clean" glass I was given. The interior and the kitchen also raise some concerns. As for the food, it wasn't anything special, and the portions were small. The wait between courses was very long.

05/07/2026: Avoid at all costs. The owner is awful. I was attacked as soon as I arrived. Go somewhere else.

14/06/2026: Used the cash machine in their bar, just to play pool. Asked for a split to play pool, they agreed. Then got very angry at us and borderline squared up to for asking how the pool table worked, as it wasn’t the same as one we had used before. Was so dramatic, then complained about us not having bought a drink yet, 5 minutes into being there, on a Saturday night in June when it was completely empty. Will return to Morzine, but not to this bar.
