04/10/2026: What can I say? The food is deplorable and the staff are unpleasant! Pre-cooked prawns reheated with a little dried parsley were served under the name "gambas." A disgrace! And don't even get me started on the Portuguese-style cod, which was tasteless and, to top it off, of very low quality. Everything is expensive, the quality is mediocre, and it's poorly cooked. A very bad experience; I absolutely do not recommend it.

02/06/2026: We've seen many reviews about this café/restaurant... very mixed. Personally, we live in the Pau area and love coming here for a drink. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, and the setting in Beaumont Park is lovely. We ate here tonight, and the food and gourmet coffee were excellent. No complaints whatsoever, and the waiter was fantastic. We think it deserves top marks for this type of service, and a special mention goes to the waiter. We'll definitely be back.

02/06/2026: I came with two friends and we had a wonderful time. The service was discreet, efficient, and very professional. The dishes were served with great care; even in a bistro setting, you could feel the genuine attention paid to each plate, both in terms of taste and presentation. The cocktails were excellent, and the setting is simply perfect. Admittedly, the prices might seem a bit high, but the experience more than justifies them. This isn't my first visit, and it's always a pleasure to return. A truly wonderful place that I recommend without hesitation. Congratulations to the kitchen staff and the teams who handle the service and reception at the hotel.

28/08/2026: Friday, August 28, 2:20 PM: A young blonde woman left the pallet jack in the middle of the road and got annoyed when she had to move it. She then refused to deliver our order without even saying a word. Thank you to your colleague for taking over and apologizing for the delay. I understand that people can have their ups and downs, but you don't treat people like that.

30/05/2026: A small hotel with a beautiful view of Port-Vieux Beach. We had a deluxe room, plenty of space, and it was very clean. All the amenities and furniture were in good condition. The breakfast was modest—continental—but reasonably priced. You can also order an omelet or other items from the menu for an extra fee. There's no elevator, but the staff carried our luggage up and out of the room. Overall, our stay was very good. I'd love to come back and spend more time there.

04/09/2026: A must-visit in Biarritz. The staff are incredibly attentive, and the atmosphere is very welcoming, at any time of day or night! I highly recommend it!!

07/09/2026: This gentleman was extremely unpleasant. He offered no customer service whatsoever, except for a fake smile.

03/09/2026: Excellent service, perfect ice cream scoops, and the waffle cone was superb! A must-try for great ice cream. Flavors tried: espresso, salted caramel, mango, and orange blossom poppy seed.

05/06/2026: At reception, they offer you a drink (we had a simple glass of water with a little syrup) which is charged for! At dinner, the waitress didn't know what the daily special was! In the end, the lasagna on the menu was reheated and probably not fresh. Breakfast was rather basic. For pilgrims, this place is not recommended given the price/quality ratio.

12/05/2026: If you're familiar with the Louis de Funès film "L'Aile ou la Cuisse" (The Wing or the Thigh), and especially the line "Where are the toilets?", to which the innkeeper replies, "Follow the flies," you'll feel right at home. The rooms are outdated and nothing like the ones on the website; you can hear the neighbor using the toilet. The meal was completely ordinary, with nothing Basque about it. This was the worst accommodation I've had in 10 days of walking the Camino de Santiago, and at €150 for a room with half-board, it's nowhere near the standard of a Logis hotel. I gave my opinion after paying, and the person's response was, "I'll pass it on"... eloquent indeed!

18/08/2026: The walls are still there, but the soul of the hotel is gone since the previous owners sold it last January. The new owner deserves credit for redecorating and installing air conditioning, but it's not enough to compensate for the significant shortcomings of the new team. Guests are left to their own devices on Sunday afternoons and evenings. The hotel is open, but there are no employees on site. There is an emergency number on the front door, but no one answers. The place feels empty. We had to wait until Monday morning to speak to someone again. The breakfasts, so rich and complete in previous years, featuring local products, have been replaced by low-cost supermarket items. A deliberate choice by the new owner. I won't even mention the mouse that scurries across the dining room in the morning. We simply wanted the same simplicity we had before in this wonderful village in the Basque Country. We also wanted the same respect and professionalism. Nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately… The owner advised us to look for another place to stay during our next visit to St. Etienne de Baïgorry. We will take her advice. However, we sincerely wish her success in establishing herself in this beautiful valley and hope she regains the trust of guests like us. We had been coming here for four years.

12/09/2026: Two cyclists stopped for a coffee and to refill their water bottles. They were charged for the coffee but were limited to one refill per person. Outrageous!

05/09/2026: We had a good meal, having chosen the 13 euro suggestion: pork, fries and vegetables.

03/10/2026: I am very happy with this restaurant. The service was very satisfactory, the cook was very friendly and gave good advice on sauces, and the cooking was impeccable. I ate very well and I give the restaurant a 10/10.

14/09/2026: In short: I don't understand how this restaurant is still open. The hygiene is appalling, many dishes weren't fresh, and the food was of terrible, industrial quality. Don't even think about going there; I've never eaten so badly. 🤮🤮🤮
