15/08/2026: Thank goodness the tourists are here. Dear boss, don't be surprised if your customers leave without coffee or dessert; we're just in a hurry to leave.

15/08/2026: We stopped for a drink, then had to leave again after a huge, long wait. It's a shame, perhaps the organization should be changed to improve service.

07/08/2026: The advertisement advertised a night's stay for €48 that day in this supposedly 3-star hotel. Even just calling was a premium-rate number that connected us to an automated system... there, we were told it was €87 (but in reality, it would be €117 with the tourist tax) because the promotion was for a different hotel. Anyway, we booked breakfast (2 x €15) and parking (€9). It was actually the only hotel near a party we were invited to. We only dropped off our luggage in the very small room (which smelled strongly of paint). When we returned, the air conditioning wasn't working, and at reception, I was told that the air conditioning had been out of order throughout the entire hotel for several days! They lent us a fan to hold by the small window to cool the room (it was the middle of a heatwave). The next day, we asked for a discount, but received no response, just an embarrassed grimace. Breakfast was decent, but both coffee machines were either empty or broken. Workers are crossing the room and drilling is happening everywhere; the street is blocked by a huge crane truck...it's a joke...we don't recommend it

20/07/2026: Better air conditioning would be ideal; the hotelier kindly provided us with a fan, which allowed us to sleep well. Thank you to our friendly and attentive hotel staff for their warm welcome.

14/07/2026: I'm giving it one star for the atmosphere, which is pleasant. However, I was very disappointed with the value for money. The prices are really high for very small portions. The servings are far from sufficient, and you leave with the feeling of having paid far too much for what you get. It's a shame, because with more generous portions, the experience would have been much better.

18/06/2026: It was lovely sitting there in the sun, the Aperol was very good, perfectly mixed and absolutely affordable during happy hour.

16/06/2026: The food is basic, frozen, and the spring rolls are tasteless. Payment is by weight, and there's a significant difference between the quantity ordered and the final price.

23/07/2026: The kebab was empty for €10; the food wasn't cooked enough.

18/06/2026: Great kebab, generous portions, a little long to prepare but excellent.

05/08/2026: We've been coming to Pedra Alta for every family birthday for the past 15 years. The quality has declined a bit in recent years: the seafood is overcooked or reheated, swimming with the fritters in oil at the bottom of the dish. But it's still tasty and plentiful.

04/08/2026: There were four of us for lunch this Sunday. We had barely arrived when we were asked if we had chosen our meal. Apparently, there were no assigned servers for the tables, and they weren't very motivated. We ordered a seafood platter, then two rib-eye steaks, specifying the meat afterward. After 25 minutes, the meat was brought to us, which we sent back. The platter finally arrived, then the rib-eye steaks, which the cook had set aside, came back completely overcooked and black. I suggested they remake them or that we pay for what we had eaten and leave. I don't know if it was beef or veal, but it wasn't tender... all this for over €200. We will never return.

28/07/2026: Today I ate there for the first time and I really enjoyed it, especially our waiter Axel who took care of us from start to finish, right up until we paid. He was very friendly and pleasant, and it was a real treat to see someone like him, as it's rare to find such kind waiters these days. We also appreciated the manager's gesture of goodwill in not charging us for the coffee, which was really bad, so we didn't drink it. A lovely place for a nice break! 👍🙏

08/02/2026: Friendly welcome, simple but tasty food, pleasant service.

04/01/2026: We were very disappointed. Upon arrival, we asked if it was possible to turn up the heat. We were told no, and in a rather unpleasant manner. Two people were eating wearing hats, and we had to put our coats back on to finish our meal. There were no hand dryers in the restrooms; we had to ask for them. Again, the answer was positive, but not friendly. Not a word of apology (it happens!). The young waitress was very friendly, which was not the case for the other waitress (the manager?). The meat was tough, the fries were soggy and overcooked (reheated?). Some of the potatoes in the morbiflette were undercooked. We didn't dare say anything because we were embarrassed for our friend from Autun who had accompanied us and recommended this restaurant. The pizza, however, was very good. The apple tart was very average (store-bought?). We do not recommend this establishment. It's a shame for the young waitress who was doing her best to make up for it! The setting is very pretty, though.

03/06/2026: A really awful hotel, run by unfriendly and agressive people. I was forced to stay here as the better hotels were booked out. The tiny bathroom was flithy. The bed did not have fitted sheets, so i ended up sleeping on a dirty mattress. The older woman at reception could not have been more unpleasant. Read the other reviews - they all say the bathrooms are discgusting and the staff awfuil - just read the rude aggressive replies to some ofthe reviews. Avoid at all costs.

11/05/2026: Hello. We highly recommend Les Camélias. It's a great place to visit Bagnols-de-l'Orne, near the casino lake, and for cycling and hiking. We had a very relaxing stay. The food is truly worth the trip; it's delicious. The young apprentices are in excellent training, in this welcoming setting, and with a wonderful hostess. Annie Guéville

13/07/2026: In my opinion, La Maison D'Hoursetut took advantage of the fact it was our first time to come for the Tour de France stage on the iconic Col du Tourmalet. Short version: They advised us of the wrong time to arrive by car before the road closures, so we couldn't go up the mountain to see the stage there and they wouldn't give us a refund (no cancellations policy). Long version: Months in advance, we confirmed a few times with the hotel via email that our arrival time would be noon (specifically based on their advice), however, the very first police officer we drove up to said the road is closed. This is at 11:30. When I contacted the hotel they said they gave us the info they had at the time and that the gendarmerie moved up the time last minute. I've watched the Tour on TV go thru this route several times over the years and all of it is planned months in advance, so I didn't believe him and my instinct was confirmed the next day when I found an official printed flier from the stage that said the roads close at 10 for the Caravan. Each stage location has its own website with road closure info and for the life of me I couldn't find one for this stage from San Francisco, which is why I asked the hotel - because they should be experts on guests arriving for the Tour. I'm not going to make you re-live the long exchange of emails back and forth between me and the hotel, but I hope anyone who is considering them for the Tour either STAYS AWAY, or else does not count on them for anything. I believe they knew what they were doing with my reservation misdirection and I absolutely believe they kept our money and then sold our room again to one of the thousands of people on the mountain. Unethical.
