Les meilleurs restaurants en Haute-Savoie

26/01/2026: New owner, new kitchen, and most importantly, new prices! For that price (€17-€24), go to Pacific Gaillard or Saint Julien. (Otherwise, Vénissieux-Lyon if you're willing to make the trip, but it's worth it.) It's an all-you-can-eat buffet, but you only get one regular naan. The people sitting next to us were given a cheese naan without even asking... It's served at random. And it's not even good. I won't be back, and this review is for those who, like me, were thinking, "Let's give it a try." Absolutely not!

11/12/2025: The young man at the reception is very friendly and the food is super good! I recommend the restaurant, great find.

15/06/2026: Best mulled wine we have found—not overly sweet and served in a nice glass with an orange slice. Great beer, too. Perfect location for a quick stop.

15/09/2026: What disappointing service for an aperitif. The arrogant waitress with a handbag doesn't remember the correct 2 drinks (which we didn't mention). She slams the drinks down and is anything but friendly. Very peculiar.

06/05/2026: Our experience was very mixed. Positive: - Comfortable bedding and a lovely view - The staff was very pleasant - The wine was very good (perfectly paired) - The view was beautiful, especially at sunset - Very quiet Negative: - For a seven-course dinner, we expected fresh bread, but it was dry. - The service was very slow; two and a half hours to eat is far too slow, especially since it wasn't really seven courses. The amuse-bouches aren't supposed to count as a course (we're used to Michelin-starred restaurants), and the rest of the meal should have been served quickly. - The room was shabby: peeling paint, noisy shower (when all they needed was a new faucet), and a bandage was used to repair the hairdryer... - There was a room with lots of board games, which was great! Except that the games are incomplete; we tested about ten of them, and there's always something missing...

05/05/2026: A haven of serenity (and delicious food) overlooking the mountains! An absolutely perfect stay at this aptly named establishment. From the moment you arrive, you're struck by the tranquility and the breathtaking view of the valley, but it's the welcome that truly makes the difference: warm, professional, and genuine. Spa: A pure moment of relaxation. The facilities are impeccable, and the view from the relaxation areas is simply magical. It's the ideal remedy after a day on the trails (or slopes!). I'll just mention the absence of a jacuzzi. There's a hammam, sauna, massage shower, and hanging chairs with a tea area. But no jacuzzi. Dining: Special mention for the restaurant! You can feel the genuine attention to local products, which are enhanced with finesse. It's top-notch, both for the palate and the service. The hotel's eco-responsible commitment (the first bioclimatic hotel in the region, if I'm not mistaken!) allows you to enjoy luxury guilt-free. In short, whether it's the attentive staff or the quality of the services, La Croix de Savoie is a rare find in Les Carroz. You come for the view, you stay for the experience. Thank you for this timeless moment!

29/08/2026: I came for the Italian ice cream, crepes, waffles, and churros. Well, even though we'd already paid: 1/ We were told that Italian ice cream wouldn't be available after all… so we ended up with ice cream scoops. Great for the kids who were expecting something else. 2/ The crepe batter was questionable. 3/ The worst part: the churro batter had clearly been in the machine for several hours because after cooking, the churros were actually just breadcrumbs. They looked like churros, but when you looked closer, the coating was crumbling and, more importantly, there was practically no batter inside… We told the staff. One of them tasted the result and sided with us. The owner, completely unresponsive to his customers, stubbornly refused to taste the product he was making. He retorted confidently, "What do you expect me to do? Churros are churros. I'm not changing my dough. I can make you more if you want, but it will be the same result..." In short, we obviously won't be back.

29/03/2026: Absolutely outrageously expensive. €22 for a plate of pasta.

19/03/2026: A room that evokes the warmth of the mountains, a wonderful family running the hotel, with their son in the kitchen offering exceptional quality dishes that will leave you wanting more, a full breakfast served by the lovely Michèle, rooms with balconies, tables and chairs, and pretty bathrooms, very comfortable beds and high-quality linens—care is evident throughout the building. Not to mention the location, away from the village center, a delight for children. A warm and pleasant welcome after a long day of travel. Will we return? Yes, without hesitation! The peace and quiet are perfect, yet only a 10-15 minute walk (without ski boots). The prices are reasonable compared to other resorts in the village. When I read some of the negative comments, I don't understand their negativity. Perhaps they're used to higher standards but don't want to pay the price. We found the price, the welcome, and the quality to be excellent.

13/03/2026: The service I received on the phone was extremely poor; I called at 10 PM to make a reservation. They hung up on me outright. I went to another hotel.

03/04/2026: At the bottom of the piste. Maybe it was situational, but the most deliciously fresh pint I’ve had in some time. Amazing service as well.

29/08/2026: The waiters were very rude and impolite to us. We had a baby stroller, we sat where they told us to, and then they rudely told us the stroller was in the way. Then they served our drinks but didn't order our food until 20 minutes later, and finally they brought us the bill from another table without taking our order for coffee or dessert. We left after paying for our own food and didn't get coffee or dessert. We don't recommend it.

03/09/2026: What a marvel. Very good value, even though it's central, the price is very good, they make lunch menus. The service is good. And they even waited for the group to arrive from the cable car. Everything was perfect.

16/08/2026: The bread and pastries are quite good quality. But what's wrong with this establishment is one of their saleswomen, a small, mixed-race woman of a certain age. She's extremely unpleasant. She rarely says hello, only murmurs "please," and goodbye is practically nonexistent. Furthermore, she speaks rudely to her younger colleague, who is her complete opposite. When I come to this bakery, I sincerely hope to be served by this young woman.

30/07/2026: This is the best bakery around. The ladies are always so friendly and helpful, and everything is fresh. Those who leave negative reviews really don't know what they're talking about. I live in Gaillard and am a regular customer of this bakery.

14/04/2026: We were in the eastern part of town and ate at La Détente restaurant. It was very good, the staff were friendly, and I recommend it. We ate around 1:30 pm. Thank you.

27/08/2026: There were no more seats available. They created a space for us to eat anyway, for two people.

25/08/2026: We ordered three takeaway pizzas, and honestly, it's a complete rip-off 😤. What a surprise to find that when we opened the boxes, they were practically all the same pizzas—no taste, no flavor, and smaller than a regular pizza... We might as well have bought frozen pizzas! Sir/Madam, you need to go back and train to be a pizza maker!
