18/08/2026: A truly excellent restaurant to discover in Pau. The meal is refined, generous, and expertly prepared, with ingredients that truly reflect the care and attention to detail of the cuisine. The welcome is warm and pleasant, with a genuine connection to the customers, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the prices are in the fine dining range, the value for money is excellent considering the quality of the dishes, the service, and the overall experience. A small, intimate dining room, quality cuisine, and a welcoming team: Le Canard Royal clearly deserves its excellent reputation. A place I highly recommend and where I will gladly return.

12/09/2026: I recently went back to Taj Mahal and the restaurant is still just as excellent! 😍 Plus, they've renovated, which shows they're continuing to do everything they can to stay at the top. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant; you won't be disappointed! 👌

30/08/2026: Really good chicken tikka to start with raitha and a madras lamb which was very tender. Naan best I had in years proper naan. Veggie biryani excellent. From a curry head.

10/08/2026: As a huge fan of poke bowls, I asked an AI for several recommendations before our trip to Paris, with one requirement: to find a good poke bowl. And finally, it was completely by chance, while walking down a small street in the 3rd arrondissement, that we discovered this place… Passing by, nothing really suggests that you can eat there: with its storefront and counter, you could almost mistake it for… an ice cream parlor! 😄 And what a wonderful discovery! You choose your base and toppings: for me, rice, salmon, avocado, seaweed, fava beans, cilantro, and mango. The ingredients were exceptionally fresh, and the mango was absolutely wonderful, perfectly ripe and flavorful. In short, the best poke bowl I've had so far is at 33 rue des Gravilliers in Paris! 06/09/2026: We were looking for a typical restaurant near Urrugne and stumbled upon this small, old-fashioned establishment. The food is simple but excellent, the owner is very helpful and enjoys a chat. Special mention for the restrooms.

25/08/2026: While visiting Bayonne, we chose this restaurant somewhat randomly. I must admit that the 4.3 rating on Google seems a bit low. We received a very warm welcome, the homemade punch at €2 was unbeatable, and the set menu for €20 was also unbeatable. The charcuterie platter, burger, and dessert were perfect. Well done!

30/07/2026: This restaurant had been recommended to us, but we unfortunately left disappointed. At €50 for a four-course menu, the price seemed reasonable. However, given the establishment's positioning, we expected much more attentive service. From the very first course, there was no presentation whatsoever. This was rectified later by a staff member. The presentation of the second course was rushed, the fourth was adequate, and no explanation was given for the dessert. Several details also gave an impression of a lack of care: the bread plates were still full of crumbs and were used as a base for the dessert coulis, the aperitif glasses hadn't been cleared even though the wine had already been poured, and the wait between courses was far too long. It wasn't all bad, though. The wine recommendation was excellent, as was the homemade sangria. Regarding the dishes, the zucchini accompanying the fish was undercooked, but that remains a subjective opinion. Overall, the plates were quite well presented. Finally, we were told the bill would arrive. After waiting about five minutes without any news, we had to go to the counter to pay. I imagine the employee sensed our annoyance, since she didn't ask us how our evening had gone. We won't be going back. That said, given the numerous positive reviews, I think this is probably an isolated incident and that this type of problem is occasional. Nevertheless, I feel it's important to bring these points to light so they can be taken into account and corrected for future customers. The goal isn't to criticize the establishment, but to share an experience that I hope will contribute to improving the quality of service.

26/07/2026: We had booked a table at this restaurant located in a beautiful house in the historic heart of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. We opted for an indoor table in a lovely dining room, which must be particularly pleasant in winter. The dishes we chose were excellent and original, from the amuse-bouche (which we didn't know about beforehand) to the dessert. The wines by the glass were very good. In addition, we would add that the service was professional and also lively, which we appreciated. We highly recommend this restaurant.

29/08/2026: Meal for two on the terrace, reservation required. A pleasant set menu in the evening with exquisite flavors. The tuna was a delight. The only downside was the paper bread basket, not great. The service was quick and efficient. We'll be back.

28/08/2026: We ate at this restaurant last night. I'm amazed by the price and quality of the set menu at €23. It was delicious and flavorful. We were served quickly. The portion size was more than adequate.

24/07/2026: Every year we take advantage of a stay in the Landes region to visit the Aldudes Valley and stock up on the delicious cured meats of Pierre Orteiza. Here, the animals live a good life in beautiful natural surroundings, fed by what nature provides. This is reflected in the quality of the charcuterie that we are delighted to bring back.

11/09/2026: A nice place for a simple meal in Pau. I had a crêpe with a salad, and everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. There was nothing particularly memorable or surprising about the meal, but equally nothing to complain about. The ingredients were fresh, the food was good, and I left perfectly satisfied. A solid, pleasant crêperie that I would happily recommend if you’re looking for a good and uncomplicated meal.

06/07/2026: They have a very complete set menu for €17, including dessert and tea, and I found the value for money to be excellent. The restaurant is pleasant and the food is well-prepared. We tried hummus, tabbouleh, and moussaka as starters, and a lamb shawarma as a main course. Everything was delicious, especially the lamb. The only problem was the wait time. Almost an hour passed between the first and second courses, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. I understand that some dishes may require more preparation time, but in those cases, the proper thing to do is to come to the table, inform us of the delay, and apologize. A simple explanation, such as that they were finishing preparing the lamb, would have been sufficient. On the plus side, when I mentioned the situation to the waiter, he made a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated: he offered us a pistachio and honey cake as compensation for the wait and apologized very kindly. This gesture demonstrates professionalism and was much appreciated. However, there was one detail that marred the experience. The manager, who was at a nearby table, made a comment in French about Spaniards and their supposed lack of patience. I understand a little French, and I found it a very unfortunate and inappropriate remark. Customers deserve respect, regardless of their nationality, and these kinds of comments shouldn't be made, especially when the wait has been objectively long. In short, the food was worth it, and the waiter acted impeccably, but it would be important to improve the management of wait times and communication with customers, as well as to be more mindful of the attitude and comments of the staff in charge. Anyone can have a bad day.

20/08/2026: Excellent restaurant overall, fresh ingredients and pleasant staff. The value for money is truly perfect! Just one small drawback: the wait between the main course and dessert was a bit long. Their dog was very friendly; my son spent the whole time playing with it. Thank you so much!
