02/03/2026: We came to La Ville de Petrograd for dinner to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, February 21st, with family and friends, and what a wonderful evening it was!
We received a truly warm welcome from a lovely, smiling, and very attentive team. The place is full of charm, with beautiful, tasteful decor, located in a quiet neighborhood with a lovely view of the church, which really adds to the atmosphere.
The traditional cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious; we thoroughly enjoyed it. Special mention goes to the live music: a fantastic, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere—exactly what you need for a great time.
One small drawback: it was a little warm inside, but nothing that spoiled the evening.
A real little trip to Russia from Paris. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

I had a truly delightful experience here. The cuisine is wonderfully authentic. Rich, traditional Russian dishes that are both flavorful and beautifully presented. The borscht, pirozhki and Olivier salad are standout favourites, and every dish feels thoughtfully prepared with quality. 
What really makes this place special is the atmosphere: the cozy interior, friendly and attentive staff, and the intimate live music evenings create a warm and memorable dining experience that’s perfect whether you’re with friends, on a date, or trying Russian cuisine for the first time. 
It’s also in a great location (just steps from the beautiful Russian Orthodox cathedral) and well worth a visit if you’re in Paris. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to come back!

The service is very fast, the staff friendly and professional and the decoration is charming
It’s a small room so remember to book on busy days
And as for the cuisine, it is really excellent, prepared with good products and well prepared 😋
The dishes are copious and mention is made of the small appetizer offered with the dish, just as excellent
I recommend without hesitation, despite the price (25€ a dish, and at least 40€ a menu) but really not disappointed

09/02/2026: The two-seating system is a disaster... Okay, we arrived 10 minutes late, but we felt the waitress was pushing us. 1 hour and 50 minutes is plenty of time to eat in peace... I think it's a bit too pushy to order more, and I think the waitress is under pressure because of the system the owners have put in place. As for the fondue, I came here 15 years ago and I have much better memories of it. Tonight's porcini mushroom fondue was tasteless (it lacked kirsch and white wine). It's quite expensive...

14/02/2026: The restaurant is well-located in a beautiful setting; however, during our Valentine's Day visit, we encountered some problems. The prawns served were practically mushy with a strong, unfamiliar seafood smell. When we mentioned this to the waiter, we were served another plate of prawns, which also had a foul odor. We naturally expressed our concerns to the waitress, who insisted it was impossible because they were frozen and therefore couldn't be expired. The steak, which resembled a tournedos and was ordered rare, was served very rare. The service was slow and disorganized. We arrived at 8:00 PM and were served our charcuterie platter at 8:40 PM (we intended to eat it as an aperitif). We didn't finish our main course until 10:15 PM. We took the rest to go, and the owner offered us a digestif and a discount on the prawns. Despite this, we will not return to this establishment, although we appreciated the gesture.

21/02/2026: Once again, we relied on the reviews... Takeout remains the best option. The products are good quality.
However, if you eat in, they're rip-offs... Beer €4, two mealy shrimp with fries €38, two octopus tentacles with rice and green beans €32... a chocolate mousse and a tiramisu €12... And that was lunchtime!
I would have paid the same price if I'd eaten at La Tour d'Argent in Paris...
The owner didn't even offer us coffee; I gave him €100 and he still wanted the remaining 80 cents.
I want to emphasize that the food is good quality, but not at these prices, and certainly not on an unheated terrace with the atmosphere of a takeout bar.
Furthermore, the service is awful; the waitress, completely lacking in tact, even ate during her shift. Saying "thank you, please" is optional with them.
What a rip-off...
Don't eat there.

26/02/2026: Sir, your feedback perfectly reflects the attitude of your head waiter... There's a difference between a pebble and something nearly 15 cm long! I therefore stand by my opinion.
As a customer for years, I only order mussels marinière. I've always accepted variations in quality, but the experience on Friday, February 20th, went far beyond a simple "miss." The mussels were overcooked, small, and had empty shells... then, at the bottom of my casserole dish, there was a black object nearly 15 cm long and 1 cm in diameter, impossible to identify. The waitress couldn't explain what it was. The object was taken away and then, according to her, thrown away by the cooks without any checks. There was no real attempt to help; I had to ask for a replacement plate and the fork I used to handle the object myself.
I also took the opportunity to point out to the waitress that my glass had traces of hard, dried-out food. The response was defensive rather than professional. And my glass wasn't changed... The second casserole dish surprisingly contained a mix of overcooked and properly cooked mussels, raising serious doubts about how the incident was handled... At the end of the meal, the head waiter asked us if everything was alright—a complete disconnect from the situation.
In light of these factors, the 15% discount doesn't compensate for the anxiety or the loss of confidence. When an unidentified item ends up on a plate and is simply thrown away without any checks, the issue is no longer about taste, but about professionalism and hygiene standards.
I also didn't appreciate the head waiter's attitude towards me, which seemed to be a mix of arrogance and irony.
I regret not having photographed the item in the casserole dish because I would have wanted to find out what it was.
I'll finish with a word about Jospin, an exceptional waiter—polite, elegant, attentive, discreet, yet incredibly present—whom we will sorely miss.
I will not be returning and I no longer recommend your establishment.

18/02/2026: On Tuesday, February 17th, two employees were extremely unpleasant (around 3 pm). One of them even dared to yell at us when, before ordering, we wanted to check if there were enough seats in the upstairs dining room. I've never been treated this way before; perhaps it's because of my skin color? Anyway, we won't be returning here, and we'll do everything we can to ensure that none of our friends or family ever go to this establishment again.

12/02/2026: We had a good time (4 people) BUT, the first spritz came with skewered candies, sliced oranges, and large glasses (different sizes because they were out). The second time, we were given smaller glasses (but they didn't take our empty ones), no more ice cubes, and no more candies, so we had to take them from the first glass. Then the third time, there weren't even any oranges left... and we had to order at the bar because the terrace service closes at 6:00 PM... all for the same price, over €110.

26/01/2026: We just had a quick coffee in this lovely, recently opened restaurant. It's bright, very clean, and nicely decorated. We were served with great kindness by a very dedicated staff in a work-integration program. We'll definitely be back to try the restaurant again.
Just a suggestion: why not create a small area (perhaps near the entrance?) for a bar or snack bar on quieter days?
16/12/2025: Here lies my tale, very ancient and rancid, just as I would have written it on yellowed parchment.
During my wanderings through the marches of Berry, where the Creuse River meanders like a gentle snake between meadows and woods, it happened that I, Sir Ludovic de Téléton, weary from riding and with a rumbling stomach, stopped at an inn called La Source, located in the village of Saint-Aigny, a peaceful and well-reputed place.
There I sat at an oak table, and was served a dish of beef, sliced so thinly and raw that it seemed like a crimson leaf placed on the plate; seasoned with precision, without excess or stinginess. And I said to myself: “Truly, this cook knows the art of feeding a nobleman without offending him.” “
I then summoned the servant and questioned him in the manner of the ancients:
“Do you know, fellow, why you pour the wine on the right, and how one serves a lord without treachery?” He answered without hesitation, with knowledge and composure, proving that he was not a novice peasant but a learned and loyal clerk.
Greatly satisfied by this, I took some hard cash from my purse and gave it to him as a gift, saying, “Take it, and know that good service is worth more than many words.”
Thus, I regained my strength and courage in that place, blessing the earth, the people, and the table, before resuming my journey, swearing by my faith that whoever passes through these lands would do wisely to break their bread and fast here.”
