14/12/2024: We love this place and its special character. Plus most of the pastries are excellent.
10/12/2024: I have already come several times over the last 4 years and sometimes I find the service to be good and sometimes not at all. Sometimes the salespeople are so unfriendly that they ignore you. I find that the pastries are sometimes a little expensive for the size and taste which I don't always like. Savory dishes are sometimes quite empty and tasteless or too salty.
The on-site service is rather friendly but unfortunately I do not recommend taking away. For me, the quality/price/service ratio is not to my taste unfortunately.

02/10/2024: We booked for a Sunday lunchtime, when we arrived there we understood that we had done well to book, the welcome and the service are of a very high quality, we assume that they had attended a hotel management school , for the quality of the dishes it was simply good and well presented on the plate!!! To accompany the meat dish I chose a wine, the waiter kindly directed me to another choice which turned out to be very fair, very reasonable price, I highly recommend
21/09/2024: Came during the week for a lunch, very poorly received, the owner of the restaurant haughty and disrespectful, refuses to open the parasols, supposedly broken or the other excuse was because of the wind!!!! So that strangely the boss agrees to open the parasol for the next table a few minutes later.
Sends customers away when it is thanks to customers that they can continue to open their restaurant. It would be useful to start respecting the people who come to eat in your restaurant and on top of that the meal was lukewarm.
The meal was lukewarm.
First and last time for us in this restaurant.

26/08/2024: We sat outside and there was a lot of smoke around us. After a long wait, the pizza arrived lukewarm and heavily charred on the edges and bottom and also with the wrong ingredients on it. The no cheese margarita for my kids was full of olives. After a complaint, these were simply taken down and the same pizza was put there. Unfortunately service was very weak. I mentioned these points when paying and then got more than 50% discount. Still very disappointed.
22/08/2024: Such a beautiful last dinner in Dijon, I highly recommend it. Thank you Trinidad for the amazing service and the brilliant last meal.
The 4 fromage pizza was beautiful omg I am a cheese lover but oh my days that was stunning!!

22/11/2024: This new pastry, the pistachio/chocolate nun, is truly a marvel. Pain de Sucre is one of the best pastries in Paris.
21/11/2024: Pain du Sucre is one of the many store front eateries that line Rue Rambuteau leading straight to the Pompideou Center and has been one of the best patisseries on the street for 20 years. Didier Mathray and Natalie Robert have managed to keep their offerings innovative and eye catching all these years and see no reason to open another shop, because with just one, they can maintain their recognized quality.
They actually have a pair of shops almost side by side, the patisserie for sweets and one for savories like their signature Pain de Sel. It is basically a flakey butter pithivier flagged with a sprig of rosemary, filled with fois gras and duck that remains one of my favorite items, comes round for an individual serving or square for four people. A full range of dinner ready patés, tartes, quiche and vegetarian specialties line the vitrines of the savory shop.
What started out a whimsical fancy of weird flavor marshmallows, developed by Natalie, continues. Early 19th century French confectioners used the root of the mallow plant, a traditional medicinal palliative for coughs from ancient Egyptian times, to create an easy to eat candied form or lozenge called Guimauves. Natalie’s are more squishy, like pate de fruit squares, forget the mallow.
Striking looks attract attention and their current religieuse sport a woodland theme. This traditional patisserie is historically a choux pastry stacked with a smaller one on top. The shape, supposedly originally based on a nun in black and white habit, inspired Natalie. But colors and design became open to interpretation as long as there is a small ovoid on top of a larger one. This time they made them look more like a fanciful mushroom, same creamy taste with hint of pistachio. Waiting to see their next iteration.

27/09/2024: Cadre sympathique accueil au top et une carte proposant des plats alléchants dans un rapport qualité/prix intéressant quand on compare avec la majorité des restaurants ou paillotes d’Algajola.
03/09/2024: Je viens de lire certains avis et je ne les comprends pas. Je trouve l accueil très agréable (mais admettons que ce soit vraiment une question d appréciation personnelle) par contre la cuisine y est bonne et faite maison, les quantités copieuses et les tarifs sont tout à fait corrects. Quand à leur raclette elle est servie à discrétion fromage comme charcuterie, et de bonne qualité.
Je mange assez régulièrement dans ce restaurant et je n ai jamais été déçue.

Pizza cooked in a huge oven in front of us.
Very reasonable price for the place. 18€ per pizza.

05/12/2024: De l'excellente cuisine à Angoulême servi dans un cadre très agréable. Chez Paul est proche du palais de justice d'Angoulême, et le personnel qui y travaille est très professionnel et bien élevé. Tenue impeccable. Distance et humour. La cuisine est exquise, l'œuf parfait dans un velouté de potimarron, le tartare revisité avec sa panière de frites, le suprême de volaille aux pleurotes et sa petite purée, le saumon, etc. Que de belles réussites parfaitement maitrisées. Les vins proposés qui accompagnent cette super cuisine sont parfaitement associés et bien sélectionnés. La pâtisserie française est également très à l'honneur avec sa poire belle Hélène nappée de son chocolat chaud fondu, mais aussi une surprise exotique avec un dessert à la pulpe d'ananas. Le patron (collectionneur de vins et de cognacs) ainsi que son équipe vous accueilleront très bien. Justiciables, vous venez de perdre votre procès et beaucoup d'argent : venez vous consoler chez Paul. Avocats, votre client vient de prendre perpétuité quand vous lui promettiez 6 mois avec sursis : venez vous consoler chez Paul. Magistrats, vos mérites objectifs ne sont pas reconnus par vos collègues ou par le syndicat national de la magistrature : venez les oublier chez Paul fabricant de bonne humeur !
30/11/2024: Rapport qualité prix correct. Produits frais et bien cuisinés. Menu à 39€ : carpaccio de saumon, cabillaud et île flottantes (excellent dessert).
Bon accueil, service rapide et efficace.
Peut-être un peu cher mais cuisine honorable.
