02/09/2024: Stranded here today (September 2, 2024). I was spoiled with a delicious vegan wine, risotto and mango-rhubarb crumble. The chef was nice and relaxed and occasionally chatted with acquaintances who passed by. I think that's nice to see. If I ever come to Lyon again, I will definitely come back!

22/08/2024: Stopped here for coffee and pastries. Was greeted with: 'I don't have time'. Not even a smile. Yet all tables inside were unoccupied... I appreciate that everybody can have a bad day. But I see others have posted comments reporting similar aggressive behavior from the owner/waiter here in recent weeks/months... Thus I am crossing this one off from our list of favorite vegeterian/vegan restaurants and coffee shops in the city. Gladly, there are several, more welcoming and friendly alternatives offering vegetarian or vegan options in Lyon today.

The meal was excellent, the service perfect, the decoration magnificent. Worthy of a great restaurant with human warmth and friendliness to boot.

08/12/2024: Décevant Le cadre est sympa, chaleureux. Les serveurs ne sont pas particulièrement agréables. Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas au rendez vous. Une raclette en quantité certes mais sans goût, charcuterie pas à tomber et pareil pour les pommes de terre. Comme par hasard, les vins les moins chers n’étaient plus en stock. Des écriteaux sur les murs un peu déplacés. Ils font des économies sur tout pour un prix élevé. Je ne reviendrai pas.

04/12/2024: Je suis pas connaisseur mais j’ai voulu tester la fondue savoyarde avec de la viande de grison en complément. J’ai adoré. Les quantites sont bien pas trop juste ce qu’il faut. Pain de qualité. Prix 32 euros c’est raisonnable. Salle rustique style chalet de montagne , par contre manque de chauffage. Service efficace un mercredi midi. Ambiance calme trop calme.

We were served by Olivier who amazed our meal with his kindness, his attention and his understanding while waiting and demanding the quality of service that we expected, the dishes were very good. We didn't set out to eat at the basic Léon de Bruxelles because we are from Bordeaux and we usually eat Léon de Bruxelles, in Pessac, and lately. We were very disappointed by the quality of the cuisine, thanks to the Chefs at Léon de Bruxelles, Angoulême and Olivier's service. 30/12/2024: An exceptional place located a stone's throw from the Donjon de Niort and the Marais Poitevin. The night was very pleasant in this quiet and perfectly decorated place. Wake up gently thanks to the scent of meat slowly cooked by Maitre Kemal, the owner of the place, who already cooked under Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. Fortunately the meat is no longer the same as it was at that time. In short, the €9 menu including a night in the Kemal hotel is a must have when visiting Niort.
