28/09/2026: The view is exceptional, but the best is yet to come: everything is generous, friendly, and authentic. The staff is delightful, and they entertain us with a few accordion tunes joined in by the other guests. The meal is simple yet beautifully prepared, and finished with a complimentary digestif that makes the taste buds sing. Pure bliss. Time flew by!

30/08/2026: We had lunch there today. A very warm welcome from the whole team. The meal was generous and of very high quality. From the appetizer to the dessert, a real treat, not forgetting the complimentary after-dinner drink with three choices. A beautiful, flower-filled chalet in the middle of a splendid valley. 14/09/2026: Excellent restaurant, the setting is magnificent (opposite the lake), small parking lot opposite the restaurant, we were served by the owner, I think (covered in tattoos)! A little smile would be a plus, a few kind words to the customers would be a plus... I recommend this restaurant!

It's always consistent, never disappointing, which isn't always the case. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

05/09/2026: Very disappointed. We made a reservation in June for September. We learned via Google that the restaurant is closed. No one called us to inform us or to cancel our reservation.

14/07/2026: We decided to return to this restaurant after four years, with great enthusiasm and the hope of recapturing the wonderful experience we had previously enjoyed. The ambiance and decor are still as pleasant as ever, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our lunch. We arrived with high expectations and hearty appetites. We left disappointed and far from satisfied. Service: mediocre and clumsy From the outset, we were asked to choose our dessert before we had even started our meal. An unusual practice, but we agreed. We quickly regretted it. When we shared our comments about the dishes, the waitress simply said, "Ah, I see," without apology or questions. The same reaction occurred when we sent the desserts back. This gave us the impression that she herself wasn't convinced of the quality of what she was serving. The starters were decent, but the rest was a disaster. The starters ranged from passable to good. However, the main courses were a real disappointment: • a tough lamb chop with an overly salty, almost inedible sauce; • a beef fillet that was decidedly not tender, even served rare, with a sauce that was once again too reduced and too salty. The side dishes were meager: a small, poorly executed rectangle of dauphine potatoes and a tiny bowl of vegetables meant to be shared between two people. This might have been acceptable if the flavors and freshness had been there, but they weren't. Desserts: a complete failure. The cherries in port served with a "panna cotta" were tasteless, and the panna cotta was a panna cotta in name only. The warm pear and chocolate soufflé was undercooked: you couldn't taste the pear or the chocolate, only the unvaporated alcohol. We left both desserts, as they were simply inedible. A hefty bill for a disappointing experience We paid the full bill, €262, despite not enjoying or finishing our meals. Conclusion The principle of a restaurant is, first and foremost, to provide good food. If you want to treat yourself, in my humble opinion, Le Sérac is not the right choice. Especially since several excellent restaurants can be found in the village: Le Rond de Carotte, Source, or, for a similar price, La Ferme du Cupelin and La Table d’Armante in Saint Nicolas de Véroce. A real shame for the culinary scene of Saint Gervais les Bains. We were hoping for at least a decent meal; unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

26/08/2026: I thoroughly enjoyed the parsley-crusted calf's liver served with baby vegetables and mashed potatoes. The dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. The service is quick and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. 😊😊😊

17/08/2026: The terrace and indoor dining area are very pleasant and quiet, located opposite the church. The menu is fresh, original, and of high quality. The welcome was very warm.

06/10/2026: My parents and I really enjoyed the dining experience here. The restaurant decoration and design is lovely and warm. Our waitress Whitney was really nice, patient, and attentive. And our food was superb- 2 menus and my mother got the lyonnaise salad. For the menus we got the salmon gravlax and house rabbit terrine, sea bass and duck leg, and the 2 dessert options. Everything tasted fresh and the cook was perfect for us. If I’m being picky, the bacon is quite salty which is to be expected but my parents aren’t big on too salty foods.
