21/09/2024: Told off as soon as we arrived, as we sat down at a table without being invited to sit. Waiter then tried to be friendly until we only ordered soup for late lunch. Apparently he wanted us to have a 3 course meal at a set price. He said we were taking up a table of 4 and we were the fourth people who didn’t want a full meal that day. He was so rude, we offered to pay for our drinks, then leave. He begrudgingly let us have the soup but charged us for one 3 course meal. The soup was bland, nothing like you expect from French onion soup. Have never been treated this bad at any restaurant ever.

29/08/2024: Even if I see in the last comments on "Chez Daniel" that the criticism is not well received, I will say what I think about it in terms of reception. I will not be able to testify on the quality of the dishes given that we had not reserved, there was no place for us. Regarding the menu, no raclettes, only tartiflette fondues or reblochonades. Too bad for a mountain restaurant... On the other hand, I'm leaving a review because I didn't appreciate the welcome at all and the very unpleasant little phrase "book next time!" Slipped in as if to say I'm busy, if you don't have a reservation you're bothering me! So as it was our last evening we went elsewhere and given the welcome I wouldn't have wanted to come back anyway!

28/08/2024: A great family time! With two young children, a smiling waitress and an involved cook, the fondue was perfect and plentiful. Excellent crème brûlée. The children had pancakes and were delighted. Local produce from food to drinks. The people of Flaine eat there and it’s a sign of quality. I highly recommend and I am very demanding. It was one of the highlights of the family vacation. THANKS

30/09/2024: We didn't sleep just enjoyed a gourmet meal with the family. We were 11 adults, all very satisfied with this delicious meal. Top-notch decoration, tantalizing taste buds with original flavors. Thank you also for the warm welcome. We might do it again next year.

15/10/2024: Just had a stunningly good 3-day work meeting at Le Cottage Bise. I only wish I'd stayed longer to make the most of this glorious venue! From start to end, the service was impeccable, and the food outstanding - to serve perfect steak to 67 people simultaneously was a remarkable feat, and the hotel team also catered very well for the group's various dietary issues at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a shame I didn't have time to go swimming as the pool looked and felt very inviting (only had time to dip my hand in). My room was excellent, with a lovely view of the lake, and the bed was very comfortable; the bathroom included robes, slippers and very tasteful toiletries, and everywhere was extremely clean. The conference rooms were in an amazing 11th century priory a couple of minutes on foot from the main hotel and was perfect for our needs. Very highly recommended!

I was organizing a business event for 70 people, they closed the hotel for us, the conference room (thank you very much Gabriella!!!), the food (I'd like to highlight the risotto, the perfect egg, beef and the desserts) and the service were incredible! Every detail was perfect! Everyone complimented and enjoyed the location and the Cottage Bise! Thank you to Mr. Bise and his team for all their hard work and effort. It's obvious they have a wealth of experience in organizing special events and know what they're doing. I highly recommend them if you want to organize a successful event! 06/12/2024: Dropping in unexpectedly for a drink as a couple. Very nice surprise, bar with a well decorated Irish/Canadian atmosphere. Very friendly owner and very good local beers at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for. Looking forward to coming back

17/09/2024: Great for tents with flat grassy pitches a short walk from the lake front. We only stayed for one night but I would have been happy to stay here for a few days. The only downside was that reception closed earlier than advertised.

10/09/2024: Neat campsite with spacious pitches directly on the lake. Nice facilities and private beach. From the campsite there is a beautiful walking route directly to a beautiful viewpoint over the lake. Challenging climb but doable. Annecy is a beautiful city to visit. Fantastic environment.

27/01/2025: Delicious food and great service. We were a table of 4 and had the fondue and meat sizzle platter - all was great. NOTE: The restaurant menu is aimed at people sharing dishes as most things are for a minimum of 2 people.

27/01/2025: The cache offers quality products which is appreciated. However, this is only the only positive point. First unpleasant point, you can't go there to eat raclette/fondue/pierrade alone. Everything is offered for a minimum of two people. Then, the quantities are extremely small. We ordered 2 pierrades (since it's the minimum for 2) luckily my mom was sick and ate almost nothing, so I ate all the meat alone which was good. The fries are not good (frozen I think). For two it was clearly insufficient in terms of meat (price: €72). My wife ordered a raclette with my son (knowing that he would eat little) and fortunately because for a price similar to the pierrade she got the right quantity for one person, my son having eaten a little bit. In terms of service, we had 4 slot refusals when we made our reservation but finally managed to find one. When we arrived the restaurant was far from full. We sat down, the waitress started installing the devices and 15 minutes later she moved us 4 places... No problem for us. But at the exit we were installed between 2 posts without much space and no one ever sat in the places where we were at the start. The wait was particularly long for the dishes and the service was not necessarily the most pleasant. The desserts were ok but even the crème brûlée was undersized. The wine taken was good, the only product with good value for money. In the end for 4 (including 1 young child and a sick adult who ate almost nothing). We got it for almost €200. Clearly way too expensive.

18/08/2024: It is truly a magical place where we are transported by flavors. Small, very pleasant, shaded, quiet terrace. We are never rushed by the waitresses, it's really nice. It's just a shame that there isn't a small children's menu, otherwise really nothing to complain about

21/07/2024: Arrived at 11:10 am on a hot day. Said we wanted a coffee and received a look of total disdain and told we could use the picnic table. This was in full sun with about 60 places under umbrellas unoccupied forbidden to us. Ordered cappuccinos and were brought corridors (which were changed) as original serveur clearly could be bothered even to listen - these words are very different and our French is quite competent. Appalling approach to customers and indeed we might have eaten had they not clearly shown their disgust that in the middle of a hot morning we wanted a drink
