12/05/2026: Passing through Malestroit, we checked restaurant reviews and ended up at Le Jardin de Tirpen. We weren't disappointed at all, quite the opposite! The owners are very friendly; the food is delicious (everything is homemade), and all served with good humor and smiles! We wish you a wonderful and well-deserved retirement! 24/03/2026: The menu wasn't misleading; when it came to homemade, it was truly homemade. However, the duck confit with gratin dauphinois, or other traditional French dishes, were tasteless, dry, and clearly mass-produced reheated fare. It's a shame because the location is nice and the service is quite efficient.

01/11/2025: The welcome at this restaurant is warm and friendly. My starter, a stracciatella with roasted tomato cream, olive oil, and basil, was delicious, fresh, and generous. I loved it! I highly recommend it. A little tip for those who like spicy food: add several drops of Tabasco sauce. It's a perfect match! Their country bread is fresh and crusty, which greatly enhances the experience. Well done to the whole team! Keep up the good work!

18/08/2026: A fantastic find! We ate at this restaurant which offers kebabs, pizzas, tacos, and more. It was truly excellent. The kebab meat was superb, bursting with flavor—nothing like the spit-roasted kebabs you find everywhere. The pizzas were generous. The welcome and service were very pleasant. The prices are reasonable. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to offer a different sauce for the burgers.

13/08/2026: Perhaps we were mistaken for tourists...a common occurrence on the coast at this time of year! So, we ordered by phone: 2 Chorizo ​​Burgers and 2 pizzas + 1 small order of fries. The service was pleasant and the order was ready on time. I was surprised by the total of €46, but I wasn't suspicious since I had listed my order and given my name. When we got home after drinks, surprise: there were 3 burgers, and of the 2 pizzas I ordered, one was nothing like the one I had chosen. Disappointment, especially since they weren't very good. Whereas two months ago, the pizzas were good. Oh well, we'll pass.

17/09/2026: I'm a regular at the drive-through. I haven't complained for months, but now I've had enough. Forgetting, order mistakes, never a napkin (isn't the whole point of a drive-through supposed to be to eat somewhere?!). Never any cutlery. I can understand an oversight, but this is happening all the time. On the plus side, the order-taking process is pleasant, with some smiling and friendly staff.

13/09/2026: I just had a hugely disappointing evening at Domaine du Bollenberg. After I indicated at the start that I am (fatally) allergic to nuts, they assured me with a self-satisfied nod that the menu was fine. With the first dish, the entire plate was covered in pistachio nuts, to which I am severely allergic. Fortunately, they were sprinkled over the top so I could see them clearly, given that they were also incorporated into the meat itself. Otherwise, it would have been a trip to the hospital. The response was: "Ah yes, there are pistachios in this." Between courses, flies constantly swarmed around us and onto the food. After 2 fine dishes (also quite tasteless), dessert arrived. You won't believe it, a dessert made entirely of nuts. When we pointed this out, we received no apology again, and they took the plate away. At this point, we decided to leave. When we subsequently pointed this out, they apologized and offered us one bottle of wine at their expense. In the end, I didn't have to pay for my dinner (because I refused it myself, not because it was offered), while the rest of the group naturally didn't eat any more either. Treating customers so carelessly for such a respectable restaurant is unacceptable. The wine, by the way, deserves this single star; it was good.

09/09/2026: A rather disappointing experience today at the McDonald's in Mourenx. The wait was incredibly long, which is a shame. However, I must point out that the young man who served me was very pleasant, smiling, and professional. On the other hand, the person who then served my meal was particularly unpleasant, unfriendly, and disrespectful in the way he spoke to me. This kind of attitude is truly regrettable, especially when you're simply there to pick up an order. A little more respect and courtesy towards customers would be appreciated. It's a shame, because the young man at the register was, in contrast, very welcoming.
