30/12/2025: We were lured in with a menu of which the majority of starters weren’t available. Unfortunately we also seemed to not be allowed any bread and throughout the few that had starters and the main, the service wasn’t very kind. Additionally, the menu said gamba’s but they were clearly deep frozen prawns that were tasted very off - resulting in food poisoning for one of us (while actually having not eaten the full dish). They did offer to take the wine off the menu which was kind but at the point the experience was already beyond recovery.

30/12/2025: I visited today with my family and the meal was highly disappointing. Many things on their menu were unavailable and one of the waiters was particularly ungracious. I ordered the gambas which are a total rip off because they are prawns and not gambas. They were off and I’ve had food poisoning the rest of the day. It’s a tourist trap

12/06/2025: Very disappointed, frozen kebab really not great and very expensive. 17€ for kebab, fries and a beer is excessive. Never again.

08/05/2025: We were passing through. Everything went very well, simple and efficient. Nothing to complain about, we will come back with great pleasure if we come back to the area.

19/09/2024: Je suis venu à deux soirée de suite au début, je me suis dit du bar qu’il était sur mauvais soir. Finalement les deux soirées d’affilée étaient les mêmes du personnaliser désagréable qui prennent des clients de haut alors que tu fais changer les montants pour leur donner sur pourboire . Par contre je tiens à remercier toute l’équipe de Securite surtout Mehdi car grâce à à lui nous avons passé de très bonnes soirées, mais attention aux Responsable du bar qui sont très désagréables avec des gens qui sont là pour profiter et dépenser leur argent chez eux. Si Mehdi était pas là, je ne serai pas revenu. Je suis très déçu de cet établissement qui a du personnel très désagréable. J’espère que ça remontera à la direction de Guillaume de Corse.

18/09/2024: It's not a pub rather a night club. The staff are super rude and try to act tough. But they are nothing but thiefs in black clothes. Anytime you order a drink they change the price as they like and pour how much they like. Not a descent place at all. More for spoilt teenagers, rather than a grownup crowd. The owner should stop scamming people if he doesn't want to deal with authorities for scamming tourists.

20/09/2024: Truly the worst McDonald's restaurant I've ever been to. Invaded by delivery people, an order on site with more than an hour of waiting... it's anything but "mcdo" standards... a real shame! Flee to CLAMART…

04/01/2026: I was very surprised and pleasantly amazed by this McDonald's, the cleanest and best I've ever eaten at... The staff were lovely, with a special mention for the young man who served us with a smile and such heartwarming politeness 😍 We stopped by chance and we don't regret it at all.

20/01/2026: I went twice; the first time I let it go, but I noticed an impressive slowness, even for so-called quick orders (ice cream, fries, etc.). There are four of them (not including the kitchen staff), but they just stand there talking instead of greeting customers and speeding things up. You might as well eat in a restaurant, not a fast-food place.

04/01/2026: Avoid at all costs! It takes too long to return an order, and half of it is missing.

07/12/2025: UNACCEPTABLE! After placing a Deliveroo order, the cheese was missing from all four sandwiches I ordered. Furthermore, the kitchen staff took it upon themselves to add and leave out ingredients as they pleased (please read your receipts in the future). So yes, Subway is good, but only when it's done right. Therefore, I advise against ordering anything from them, but rather recommend going in person so you can make sure they're doing their job properly.

06/11/2025: I often come here for lunch during my break. I'm always warmly welcomed, and I think it's the best in Lille. I'd like to extend a big thank you to the two ladies who were there today and who found and put away my very valuable scarf ☺️

24/09/2024: Being on vacation we came to dine at your establishment with friends. Before the meal we wanted to have an aperitif with possibly a charcuterie board. We were told that it was not possible, that there was no possibility. The tone was not pleasant. The unpleasant and welcoming person arrived with 4 small pieces of very hard bread with a semblance of fish rillettes. We had aperitifs + main course + dessert (gourmet coffee) + glass of wine. The food was very good. We left a pretty slate. Very disappointed with the welcome of the person, the service

23/01/2026: They're all smiles behind the counters, but with customers it's a different story – zero friendliness. Just like the brand itself, which is impossible to reach when customers are dissatisfied. They steal our personal data, but they couldn't care less. You need to rethink your approach; the competition is out there.

22/01/2026: We ordered pizza, which was actually good. However, the young owner standing at the front of the shop was shaving shawarma meat with a knife and collecting it with his bare left hand. Each time he put the meat down, he sucked his fingers before continuing. We found this extremely unhygienic and disgusting. Unfortunately, this completely ruined our experience.

06/12/2025: Pleasant atmosphere, not too noisy. Comfortable chairs, not too high like in many bars. Very friendly and attentive waiter. Reasonable prices.

04/03/2025: The “restaurant” could use a good renovation. The whole thing is a little dilapidated and not very clean. As for sandwiches, it's Subway with all its extras.

28/01/2025: I highly recommend this Subway. The staff is pleasant, the meals are generous with quality ingredients. I don't recommend Jaude's though (a real disaster).

05/02/2026: This is the first time I've seen a Savoyard-style American burger without steaks and onions, very few fries, and no sauce. In short, I strongly advise against it.

19/12/2025: I arrived alone at 9:05 PM and asked for a kebab to eat in. They told me no, even though they close at 9:30 PM. One employee was watching TV, another was on their phone, and the other two were busy... I could have eaten in less than ten minutes, so I ate it in the car. I won't be back.

12/12/2025: Positives: The staff were polite and respectful throughout my stay. Location: The neighbourhood is challenging. The area has heavy cyclist traffic with limited regard for pedestrians, and the general atmosphere feels unsafe, particularly after dark. Room Quality: The rooms are extremely small. There is insufficient floor space to open a suitcase, leaving the bed as the only practical option. The walls are very thin. I could clearly hear conversations and showers from neighbouring rooms starting at 6am. Additionally, every time water was used in adjacent rooms or upstairs, the plumbing generated loud pressure noises throughout the night. Bathroom: The bathroom is cramped and uncomfortable for anyone over 6ft tall. There is no counter space or shelving for toiletries, not even basic items beyond a toothbrush and toothpaste. Other Issues: • Wardrobe space is minimal and impractical • The television has poor sound quality and several non-functioning channels • No air conditioning. Even in winter, the heating made the room uncomfortably warm • Opening the window (which faces an interior courtyard) resulted in cigarette smoke entering the room • The mattress is quite firm • Bed linen doesn’t stay properly fitted to the mattress • Cleanliness is adequate but not exceptional • The hotel still uses physical keys that must be left at reception when leaving the property Value: The price point does not reflect the quality of the accommodation. The hotel appears to rely on guests needing a single night’s stay near Gare de l’Est with no intention of returning. Conclusion: I checked out early and booked alternative accommodation directly opposite Gare de l’Est. The price difference was worth avoiding the continued discomfort. I do not recommend Est Hotel. There are better options available in the area.
