09/06/2026: I go to Do Eat Yourself from time to time. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the two people who serve and advise are always smiling. The products are always fresh. For those with a sweet tooth, they make excellent cookies and an ultra-creamy brownie.

11/04/2026: How can I put it… a disastrous experience. My dish was forgotten. The waiter wished everyone at the table "bon appétit" while I hadn't been served and then went off to do his own thing. I had to ask for my dish, which hadn't been prepared. Of course, no apology was offered; instead, I was told, "I'm sure I sent it." I asked for it to be cooked medium, and naturally, it was practically raw. I had to ask them to cook it again. The quality of the food leaves much to be desired. The burgers were just a bun and a frozen chicken patty, with no sauce, and the "Provençal sauce" was just a simple canned sauce. We won't be back.

18/07/2026: Three stars, the owner is friendly. However, it leaves something to be desired, lacking cleanliness. The food isn't bad per se. It's good, but not exceptional. They need to redefine risotto; it was dry and lacked definition. A bit pricey, but it's in the city center.

11/07/2026: From the moment we saw the menu, we were drawn to this restaurant. We ordered the vegan salad, among other things, and even though we're neither vegan nor vegetarian, we loved it. It's homemade, delicious, and made with local ingredients. Don't miss dessert, because the chef, who is also the owner and makes everything himself, surprised us with the apricot tart and its amazing crust. We spent a little time chatting with him. A very pleasant encounter. Thank you!

04/07/2026: We had a wonderful lunch today! They have a vegan menu, available upon request. We ordered several dishes and they were all delicious, bursting with flavor! My favorites were the onigiri, potato mochi, and persimmon. The atmosphere and service were friendly, we'll definitely be back! Thank you :)

20/05/2026: We came hoping to enjoy a good meal of quality cuisine and were quite prepared to pay the price for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. The ribeye steak was completely underseasoned, and the two duck breasts we ordered rare were anything but when they arrived. When the waiter finally noticed our dissatisfaction, we pointed out that the side dishes were still missing. They were only brought to us after we had finished eating. The pasta was bland, the risotto very small, and overall the dishes seemed very basic for the price. In the end, we all wished we had simply ordered burgers. The service was also disappointing. We were a table of seven, and the two women at the table didn't even have time to respond when asked if they wanted coffee: the waiter had already left. We also felt judged because of our age, as if young customers couldn't appreciate good food or be willing to spend money on a truly quality meal. The manager's attitude reinforced this impression, especially when she asked if we wanted to take the pasta home "since we probably had to work early the next day." This remark struck us as inappropriate and condescending. In the end, none of the seven of us felt the experience was worth the price. We won't be returning.

13/05/2026: Everything was in keeping with the setting, at least that day. We were pleasantly surprised by the decor when we entered. It was the last positive point of our lunch. A young, pleasant, smiling waitress seated us, and a young man, equally kind, brought us the menu. The waitress took our order: set menus, glasses of wine, gourmet coffees, and a standard carafe of water. The bread basket arrived, followed by the main courses, then the glasses of wine. No carafe. We asked again, and a third waiter, without a smile, pedantic or pretentious to a fault, brought it to us. The portions were small. The beef was only moderately tender, and the fries were meager. Once we had finished our main courses, we waited for dessert. A fourth waiter with curly hair came to ask us what we wanted. "We ordered desserts right from the start." "Very well, I'll check." 20 minutes later, still nothing! We went to the counter to complain and finally get the rest of our meal. We were surprised that we were there off-season, the restaurant was very empty that day at lunchtime, and the service was lacking. We're worried about the high season! If there even is a high season in Angoulême. To be fair to the staff, this establishment seems to be selective about its clientele. From the moment you arrive until you're seated at your table, management only seems to care about regular customers. It's a shame, the decor led us to expect a lovely experience.
