30/03/2026: It's always a good place for a large group of people who want to eat without a reservation. The food is always good, and the staff is efficient. However, I've noticed several very problematic points... It's supposed to be the cheapest and most affordable restaurant in the city center, a reliable choice, but I'm disappointed... The servers push you to buy more by not specifying the "options" on the various condiments (options that cost 8 euros, almost the price of the cheapest burger). I find this misleading; we're strongly encouraged to choose the more expensive options (industrial cheddar sauce, etc.) which ultimately add nothing, as fries with mayonnaise are better. We were asked about the fries as if they were included in the price, and at no point were we told that they were an 8-euro option. 28 euros for a restaurant that claims to be very affordable seems a bit of a lie. I understand the need to make money and that the purchasing power in Cherbourg allows people to be less careful with their spending, but I don't appreciate seeing behavior like this. They should either be more discreet about these shady practices or stop engaging in them altogether. I'll come back because this restaurant is convenient, but I won't be fooled again.

30/11/2025: I went to the drive-thru this evening and unfortunately, my experience was not satisfactory. The person who took my order was unpleasant from the start. Then, when I went to pay, I tried to politely explain that I wanted to pay with several different cards. Before I could even finish my sentence, she closed the window to attend to another customer at the self-service kiosk without really listening to my request. I would have simply appreciated it if, once she came back to me, she had paid at least some attention to my request before confirming the amount on the payment terminal. The total was already displayed without giving me a chance to explain how I wanted to pay again. It's not the fact that she was helping another customer that bothers me, but rather the lack of listening and attention afterward, when all I was doing was making a simple request. A little more kindness and attentiveness at the drive-thru would really make a difference for customers, especially since I'm a regular customer and the service isn't usually unpleasant. Thanks anyway to the rest of the team.

26/03/2026: Hello, I ate at the Chalet des Étangs on Tuesday. It brought back memories because my father created this little place years ago. Unfortunately, the owner who was there before the new ones after his retirement, I was very disappointed with the meal. I asked for veal; the first piece was very, very fatty, and the second piece was undercooked. In short, instead, they served me a disappointing piece of beef. I'll never go back. I had ordered a main course, a gourmet coffee, and a cocktail. When I was leaving, I asked for the bill but didn't pay attention. It was €35, which I thought was a bit expensive. I thought about it when I got home and called Chalet des Étangs again. They had charged me for a starter, main course, and dessert. I live in Évry. She told me I could either buy her a drink or get a refund, which would cost me more in gas (€4.50). I had hesitated to go there because there's a good little restaurant near the Grand Est with a €22 set menu (main course, starter, and dessert). I would have gone with my first thought. I'm very disappointed with this restaurant. I preferred the previous owners; they deserved a Michelin star.
