She wants to bring in money, which is normal, but above all she is irresponsible! Again last night, March 2, 2025, loud music! Drunk people banging on the bar, screaming, and she lets it happen... She has no authority! It won't last long, because everyone is complaining! In the 40 years that this bar has existed, this is the first year that a manager has not been able to manage his customers! If she wants a nightclub, she has to change location, or ask her owner to soundproof her establishment! Respect the co-owners, miss! There are people who work and get up early, they need to sleep early too! There are children who have ski lessons and have to get up in the morning! There are people of varying ages who are unbearable by your crazy music… There are co-ownership regulations. Doesn't the noise at night mean anything to you? Respect the co-owners and tenants of this building!

The snacks are good and it’s great for a break after a series of descents. For context, there were 9 of us with 4 children aged 2, 5 and 10 years old. The problem is elsewhere, let me explain: The bar does not respect its surroundings. Drunk people are shouting and having fun outside, the French windows are open and no checks are made. The music is too loud and it is impossible to have a clear idea of ​​the times, despite several discussions with the owners (only money counts even if that means neglecting the well-being of the people around on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings: we broke down and left before Friday evening) Results of a family stay = impossible for young children to sleep before 11 p.m.-1 a.m., they were terrified) We managed to get the DJ (the owner not wanting to bother chatting with him) to turn down the bass a little (a big thank you to him, because the ceiling and wooden parts of the chalet were shaking and cracked). In short, the little human side is lacking a little and no avenues have been proposed to improve cohabitation. Be warned

17/04/2024: Excellent French cuisine! Foie gras. St Jacques with porcini mushrooms, duck breast cooked in the fireplace. I overdid it a little, I admit. In the middle of the Cognac country. There were 3 of us, elegant desserts from the other guests and a range of top-level coffees. A bit of a wait for service but worth the wait. A lalande of pomerol on top. Yum long live France and deep Charente

26/07/2024: I had been here a couple of times in the evening - the bearded guy in the picture was most welcoming and friendly. During the day time, on my one and only visit, a totally different picture! The bartender and the overweight guy were both the most unwelcoming, unfriendly hospitality staff I have encountered in years. They were rude with myself and another tourist couple, continually moving tables and instructing us to move. Behaved differently when a local appeared. Avoid and don't support such a horrible business!

10/07/2024: Both staff act like mutes and couldn’t be bothered to even give a smile. Beer was ok at $7 a pint but zero vibe or atmosphere

29/09/2024: Superbe endroit... accueil au top au niveau des lieux ! Quelle vue sur les montagnes et un chalet d'origine entièrement restauré... cela vaut le détour !

01/09/2024: Bon accueil , belle carte et excellent repas dans une atmosphère de convivialité Prix très raisonnables et produits locaux dont certains du jardin tout proche Et quelle vue!!!!

31/08/2024: Moules aux chorizo une tuerie, les plats sont délicieux, mais un peu trop de beurre ou de crème pour l'avis général de notre groupe, le chef cuisinier aurait un peu moins la main lourde et ce serait "top". Cadre agréable. Gros bémol par contre le prix des bouteilles de vin exorbitants. On se rabat donc sur le verre à 9 € que l'on paye ailleurs à 5,50 €/6€ pour le même type de resto.

29/08/2024: Nous avons passé une très belle soirée dans ce charmant petit restaurant. Les plats et les desserts étaient excellents. Dans un cadre calme, l'accueil était très chaleureux et le service était très attentionné. Notre jeune chien a aussi été le bienvenu. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce merveilleux restaurant!

22/09/2024: Another coffee only for regulars where you are greeted with a lopsided smile and sighs... the coffee is not even good. Great location though. Everything is explained... Brief…. To flee.

12/04/2024: On est rentrés. On a attendu 10 mn. Personne n'est venu. On est repartis...Dommage... Ce n'était pas complet mais on a trouvé ailleurs. Donc tout va bien.

03/04/2024: Le cadre est toujours aussi agréable,peu de plats à la carte mais la qualité est au rendez-vous.Pas de vrai menu c'est bien dommage.Les plats arrivent tiédes et le café gourmand est vraiment médiocre.Qualité/prix correcte.Le service du jeune laisse à désirer.Visite du 29 mars.

21/08/2024: Seul point positif la serveuse (débordée) sympa! Dommage, restaurant a fort potentiel avec ce cadre et cette vue! Temps anormalement long pour être servi et repas très très simple. Ok uniquement pour boire un verre!

05/08/2024: Bof, vraiment pas terrible (seul point positif : la serveuse était sympa). Vaisselle sale (nous avons trouvé un abdomen de guêpe et un poil dans notre assiette) Mobilier défectueux

06/09/2024: Nous avons logé (groupe de 6 randonneurs)dans ce gite en demi pension le 1er sept 24. Certes l'accueil est sympa mais il est important de noter la "pingrerie" voir "radinerie" des gestionnaires. Pour le repas du soir, il vous est annoncé lors du service "il y a 3 morceaux de blanc de poulet/ personnes et 4 petites parts de polente/personnes, fromage= 1 camenbert divisé par 8 ! Dur dur après une journée de rando. Pire, le pique nique du lendemain, facturé 10.5 euros /personnes : petite barquette de salade de lentilles, avec 1 petite tranche de jambon, en guise de pain de biscottes ramollies, 2 biscuits secs ramollis eux aussi, 1 compote à boire et quelques fruits secs. Ce pique nique pourrait suffire pour un enfant de 10 ans!! mais pas pour de randonneurs marchant 8 heures par jour ! Une honte. Il faudrait arrêter de critiquer les professionnels de la cote d'azur qui prennent les vacanciers pour des pigeons car ce que l'on a vécu à Roquefixade dans ce gite d'étape est honteux pour eux. Si vous le pouvez, randonneurs, passez votre chemin. Je les ai appelé le jour même pour leur faire part de notre mécontentement, mais ils n'ont pas répondu.

11/05/2024: Super accueil par Sébastien. Chambre fonctionnelle et propre. Dîner partagé avec d’autres randonneurs. Bonne ambiance et repas bon et copieux. Village authentique et charmant. Vaut le détour !

10/08/2024: Super friendly place, super friendly manager, wonderful welcome, meal better than at home, a superb evening with a quality concert, I recommend this amazing place lost in the heart of the Périgord Noir!! Amazing!!!

26/04/2024: Accueil très sympathique et plat du jour varié et toujours très bon. J'y suis allée hier (avant d'aller au cinéma) et d'autres fois précédemment, jamais déçue. A recommander !

24/10/2024: We loved our experience at this location - remote character filled guest house - the warmth of the hospitality from Reynald was overwhelming. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. Wifi was excellent. The meal he prepared for dinner for us was just superb. He is clearly a high class chef. Breakfast was no frills but nice. If you are looking for a nice quiet spot in Champagne valley this is perfect.
