03/01/2026: We booked 2 nights and received a written confirmation from the hand of the receptionist. We called in the afternoon the day of our arrival - 3 times. We arrived at 6.30pm. Hotel closed! No light. Metallic curtains closed. No sign of life. Is this a real hotel ????

19/09/2024: A restaurant as we like them: delicious, generous and warm. We went to dinner last night with my wife for our last evening of our honeymoon and we had a great time! Romantic and intimate setting, delicious food (we had all the chef's specialty dishes) and attentive service from the owner who even offered us the digestive. All at a reasonable price. 12/10. Special mentions for the red mullet fillet, the zucchini flower fritters (with a homemade barnacle to die for) and the tiramisu!

24/01/2026: In the 18th arrondissement, on a drizzly evening, like in Ostend, with the January blues, one drags one's feet a bit. Naturally. In the distance, the light of 144 rue de Clignancourt comes into view. Restaurant La Terrasse. After crossing the street and pushing open the door to the dining room, a shock: a smile. "The" smile. So, quickly, quickly, one mumbles the name of an aperitif to start and catches one's breath while waiting for the smile and its owner to return. As the great Ferré sang: "...and I, who am as old as winter, instead of drowning in a glass, I strolled through spring, with its almond-shaped eyes...". In a beautiful period bistro room, reminiscent of the 1950s, and beneath superb framed black and white photographs adorning the walls, one then listens attentively to the menu's description, and its promises of carefully sourced products with evocative names. We mentally rehearse each dish, each word, with the task of choosing. A painful task, because choosing one means rejecting the others. Then we wait a little while. After choosing the butcher's cut, of course! And suddenly! Suddenly! Suddenly, a tall, lanky fellow emerges from the kitchens to present a dish featuring a magnificent and moving roast, accompanied by thyme, garlic cloves in their skins, and other little ingredients whose secrets are known only to the chef. Because everything at La Terrasse is homemade. And made to order. A spectacle. An emotional experience. Thank you, Chef! Quickly, quickly. We impatiently twist our napkins. There it is, the plate! Our plate! Accompanied by that smile, always the same, disarming and reassuring. The butcher's cut. And its sauce. Because what defines French cuisine is the sauces, isn't it? So, whether it's the light thyme jus with its subtly measured shallot notes or a masterful, perfectly executed Béarnaise sauce, it's simply divine! In the kitchen, he's not just a chef. No. He's a hero! A savior, when everything seems to be falling apart! Léo sang, "And we wonder if it's worth living life?" But yes, of course it's worth it, Léo: to go and taste Franck's cuisine (I think I caught that name) at La Terrasse, 144 rue de Clignancourt! Parents, bring your children, your kids, your teens... they too have the right to taste good, authentic food. Don't be selfish, round up the family and friends! Then come the desserts. Plural. Because after having one, you order a second. A double dessert is practically a given. Like a tradition trying to take root, right there in the warmth and comfort of the place. The bill? Gentle. Very gentle. And besides, authenticity is priceless, isn't it? And that smile. Always that smile… So we leave. But like the Eagles' Hotel California, can we really leave La Terrasse de Clignancourt? Can we erase the memory of a smile? And can we upset our taste buds by depriving them of the flavors that awakened them? We'll want to come back, we know it. And we'll bring friends. Léo knows it too, right where he is: La Terrasse, 144 rue de Clignancourt… it's fantastic!
29/12/2025: For our last lunch of 2025 with my girlfriend, we chose the terrace. The food was delicious, and the new team was professional, friendly, and smiling. The value for money was excellent. I highly recommend it and wish them a wonderful end to the year.

02/12/2025: Avoid this place! I hope my review is helpful. I ordered a steak, fries, and salad for €30, but unfortunately, it wasn't steak at all, but cheap, tough spare rib. They did offer me coffee, though. I paid €33 for a handful of greasy fries and half a bottle of Badoit. Keep walking; you'll be better off.
