20/09/2025: Good...clean...you can park above...on the terrace...I've known several owners... But I have to say it's very clean...and affordable... I highly recommend it...right in the center of Font-Romeu... And there are some friendly businesses nearby that I'll mention...the Joffre pizzeria across the street...on the right as you exit the hardware store...on the left...the small garage and other businesses right next door...

31/08/2025: Unfriendly staff and the opening hours on Google are incorrect. Open until 1 p.m. on Sundays, not until 7 p.m.

14/12/2025: This restaurant has a two-course meal deal: half a pizza and a salad, which is perfect for a light dinner. The pizza crust is thin, which I particularly appreciate because it's lighter in the evening. This allows you to indulge a little more on dessert; I recommend the profiteroles—I've never had such good ones. The Saint-Chinian red wine by the glass was excellent. Great restaurant!

13/11/2025: We received a warm welcome; the waitress who served our table was very kind and efficient. The food was excellent, the restaurant has old vaulted cellars, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely return. My friends and I are from Mende, but reservations are necessary. It was a Saturday evening, and the following Monday at lunchtime, we couldn't get a table as it was fully booked, and we arrived without a reservation as a group of six.

11/11/2025: Excellent time at L’Ancienne! Warm welcome, delicious and generous dishes, everything was perfect from start to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and highly recommend it!

21/02/2026: Not friendly at all, deplorable service. The steak and fries were overcooked when I ordered rare and of appalling quality, plus the undercooked frozen fries. All of this was not worth €25. The waitress was not pleasant at all.

21/02/2026: Having undergone gastric bypass surgery, I can't eat large portions. So I asked if it was possible to order a children's menu. I was told no, but since the age was indicated on the menu, I could understand. However, I was then told that I should "treat myself" and that I wasn't going to eat children's nuggets… a very inappropriate remark. I then asked for a salad starter, which was also refused on the grounds that "a starter is a starter." When I indicated that in that case I wouldn't order anything, I was told that they didn't do that because the restaurant had turned people away. When I finally said that I'd rather leave, they eventually agreed to serve me the salad but told me I was "making a fuss." As for the meal itself, the quality was disappointing: the meat wasn't cooked properly, it was fatty, and the value for money was disappointing. The prices are far too high for the quality offered. I strongly advise against this establishment. My experience was very disappointing, both in terms of the service and the food. A little understanding and consideration would have been appreciated.

29/10/2025: We arrived at 7pm, it said they were open on Google but they were closed and of course there was no sign on the door!!

29/01/2026: The place is truly magnificent. The facilities are high-quality and plentiful. However, the crowds make the experience a little less relaxing… We were there during a week outside of school holidays; I can't even imagine what it's like during the holidays…

27/01/2026: It had been two years since I'd last been to Balnea. I went on Monday with my partner, who hadn't been before. We were very disappointed; it was too crowded and noisy. It has lost its appeal, with babies in the pools—where is the hygiene? It's a shame; I won't be recommending this establishment anymore. It's regrettable.
