17/06/2026: We went there for our wedding anniversary and were offered a glass of champagne because the waitress overheard our conversation. This year we wanted to go back because we had such fond memories, so we were shocked to be turned away when we tried to make a reservation: "Call back in an hour, I don't take reservations during peak hours!" We were truly astonished... well, we'll go somewhere else then; we didn't want to bother them. To answer your question, my wife called to make a reservation!

15/05/2026: I stayed one night at the Finca Hotel and overall, the experience was very positive. The staff gave us a very warm welcome upon arrival, with a pleasant and professional team. Room service was also quick and efficient, which was much appreciated. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and well-decorated, perfect for a short getaway in Paris. One small drawback, however: the soundproofing in the room could be improved, as it was quite easy to hear outside noises and noise from the hallway. Another negative point regarding the spa: there was far too much chlorine in the water, to the point that it severely stung our eyes, which somewhat spoiled the relaxing experience. Despite these few points for improvement, it remains a pleasant stay in a lovely establishment.

13/05/2026: The location is excellent, close to everything and with plenty of dining options. I walked almost everywhere because I love walking in cities. Using the jacuzzi and enjoying the wildlife at the end of the day made all the difference. I opted for breakfast because in Paris you can eat very well for the same price and try something different every day. The rooms were really small, but if you're only there to sleep, it's not a problem. The service was adequate.

23/05/2026: The welcome was a bit cold in a somewhat dated restaurant. The food was of good quality and plentiful, but could have been better presented by a seemingly tired owner.

14/07/2026: The terrace is superb, the waitresses are super friendly, but 30 euros for a Coke, a syrup, and a charcuterie board is still expensive, even if it was very good.

07/07/2026: The staff were very pleasant and efficient, but the perch fillets were mediocre: four fillets and crumbs on the plate, about five in total. The lemon sauce needs improvement. Luckily, there were fries and salad to fill us up a bit, all for €28. A shame, because the place is beautiful.

26/06/2026: A Friday lunchtime in June. Arrived at 11:40 am for lunch while waiting for a train connection. The waiter was running around the terrace. Order taken at 11:55 am. But it arrived quickly after that. Dish of the day: trout tartare, beautifully presented (€13), but not for big eaters. A bit light. Friendly service, nothing more; they do what they can, but they're definitely understaffed.

25/06/2026: Impolite and curt welcome. Given the way the waiters spoke, it's better to go elsewhere.

14/07/2026: Meeting up with friends, the toilets were filthy (like a public restroom) and the kitchen was probably no better, judging by the mouth ulcer I left with. Avoid at all costs!

09/07/2026: Great place for delicious homemade food! The sausage and aligot is superb! The service was pleasant but a little slow... but it's made to order, so that's understandable.

02/05/2026: My wife has an amazing memory. Checking my records, we had first stayed here in 1981 and then again in 1986. Some things such as the old farm implements she said had not changed. I had no recollection, but when I checked I had a contact noted with the old less pompous address – lieu dit rather than General de Gaulle. Finding the motel and restaurant was not a problem as it was well signposted off the main road into Macon. The lane past ranks of Tesla chargers was not prepossessing. However, after that the entrance to the desk in the old building was obvious. Thence to the motel part. Not an architectural 1970s splendour but very practical. Odd. Instead of parking next to the units the French park a distance away on the other side of the road. The rooms are perfectly serviceable in a functional way. Their pleasure is that there is a terrace to each and that looks straight onto the Soane river flowing past in it’s limpid way. A few metres distant and with nothing except nature and a footpath in in-between. On a beautiful sunny day little could be more atmospheric. If there is a material downside to the rooms and their age it is the bath. Perhaps when built that was thought to be a necessity. Now a short tub which is extremely, and I mean extremely, hard to get in and out of would be much better replaced with a shower. Perhaps not an over costly renovation and one which would save the owners money in the long run. Otherwise, it might be 2* but it is all more than perfectly adequate. Especially with the view. To which add a very decent continental breakfast. Not included in the reasonable room rate. What is not 2* is the restaurant. It is exceptionally good. There may not be massive choice, but that is irrelevant. What is on offer was delicious. Both the food and the wine are also sensibly priced. That you are a captive audience is not exploited. One can not only eat indoors but also on the terrace overlooking the fields and the river. OK, if you are picky the proximity of the A6 does create a bit of background noise. No doubt wind direction dependent. However, the proximity to the A6/A40 junction is an added convenience. We loved it. This time unlikely to wait another 40 years to return.

19/04/2026: Near the Tesla supercharger. Very good food and lovely staff in an amazing natural location surrounded by fields and horses.

17/05/2026: How about enjoying a delicious pizza in the land of crêpes? That's what Pizza Ouest offers. We were very impressed with the quality of the ingredients. Despite the lack of a children's menu, the chef adapted and offered a ham and fries option, which my daughter loved! As for the atmosphere, we enjoyed lunch with a 70s soundtrack. A pleasant family outing that we highly recommend.

You immediately feel at home, like you're staying with friends, with the added bonus of remarkable service. A truly precious address that more than deserves its reputation. We will return with great pleasure.

The service is quick, efficient, and attentive. Each dish is a true delight, both visually and gastronomically. All this at an excellent price. An address we wholeheartedly recommend and where we always return with pleasure.
