24/10/2026: It's a Flunch, with its good points (unlimited vegetables, for example) and its bad points (customers just before us left their trays on their tables in a monstrous state of filth), but the staff arrived and cleaned up. At that level of filth, kudos to them...

21/10/2026: The food was varied and very good, highly satisfying! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cashiers were very welcoming and professional.

21/09/2026: This cafe is very relaxing, with very good service and good food, including Chinese. We only had tbe spring rolls and they were delicious. It has a nice shaded view of the river on very comfortable lounge chairs.

09/08/2026: Friendly welcome, ultra-fast service, decent portions, affordable prices. Tasty meats and excellent fries! Passing through the area, this is my second visit and I'm just as satisfied as before.

23/06/2026: The location close to the autoroute is ideal for travellers. However, the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. This is not a place for people with mobility issues. although all of the rooms are at ground level, there are multiple steps to the restaurant and reception. The food was OK, but nothing special and there was little choice on the menu. I suppose it was reasonable value for money, but even if I was more mobile I would not stay here again.

02/05/2026: My wife has an amazing memory. Checking my records, we had first stayed here in 1981 and then again in 1986. Some things such as the old farm implements she said had not changed. I had no recollection, but when I checked I had a contact noted with the old less pompous address – lieu dit rather than General de Gaulle. Finding the motel and restaurant was not a problem as it was well signposted off the main road into Macon. The lane past ranks of Tesla chargers was not prepossessing. However, after that the entrance to the desk in the old building was obvious. Thence to the motel part. Not an architectural 1970s splendour but very practical. Odd. Instead of parking next to the units the French park a distance away on the other side of the road. The rooms are perfectly serviceable in a functional way. Their pleasure is that there is a terrace to each and that looks straight onto the Soane river flowing past in it’s limpid way. A few metres distant and with nothing except nature and a footpath in in-between. On a beautiful sunny day little could be more atmospheric. If there is a material downside to the rooms and their age it is the bath. Perhaps when built that was thought to be a necessity. Now a short tub which is extremely, and I mean extremely, hard to get in and out of would be much better replaced with a shower. Perhaps not an over costly renovation and one which would save the owners money in the long run. Otherwise, it might be 2* but it is all more than perfectly adequate. Especially with the view. To which add a very decent continental breakfast. Not included in the reasonable room rate. What is not 2* is the restaurant. It is exceptionally good. There may not be massive choice, but that is irrelevant. What is on offer was delicious. Both the food and the wine are also sensibly priced. That you are a captive audience is not exploited. One can not only eat indoors but also on the terrace overlooking the fields and the river. OK, if you are picky the proximity of the A6 does create a bit of background noise. No doubt wind direction dependent. However, the proximity to the A6/A40 junction is an added convenience. We loved it. This time unlikely to wait another 40 years to return.

22/08/2026: So it's a roadside diner, you can't expect haute cuisine, and we know that when we go to a roadside diner, but still, for the price, we expected better than what we got... Curried cabbage wrapped in a slice of ham as a starter + carbonara pasta... All for €15...

20/07/2026: We all enjoyed the menu, which was hearty traditional cuisine. The welcome was also pleasant. We will return.

30/09/2026: The meal was very good and reasonably priced, considering the quality of the ingredients. The only downside is that the toilets need to be renovated.

26/09/2026: I had the pleasure of meeting the best ice cream parlor in the world, a server named Yael. This is just my personal opinion, but I have to tell you, I highly recommend him. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him.

05/10/2026: The cafeteria is very good, with a good selection of hot dishes and very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

04/08/2026: A lovely place with a charming, intimate decor, including velvet curtains at the entrance. The food is delicious, and there's hardly any wait. There's a large parking lot right next door (be careful on busy days). The staff is friendly, especially Cathy. The owner is very welcoming and attentive. You can pet Bella, his little Maltese dog, if you love dogs ❤️❤️. I highly recommend this place.

29/07/2026: The attention to customer service is constant... which is increasingly rare! Well done! Good quality food, fast service, pleasant terrace.

26/08/2026: Following a purchase from one of their boat owners, whom they managed both mechanically and with paperwork, it turns out I was completely ripped off. A con artist with a hidden defect on the outboard motor (bypassing all the engine and ECM safety features to start it with a well-concealed wire, faulty voltage regulator, fuel pump relay, and after all these mishaps, I had a complete overhaul done, and there it was... a metal-filled hole in the engine block around the thermostat housing, with a gaping hole). Of course, the thermostat and water pressure valve were missing. The repair budget skyrocketed. And of course, no recourse. Purchased in winter, first used in spring with the first problems, and hauled out for a week in August with the engine overheating. My week-long vacation in Marseillan Plage was completely ruined. People's dishonesty will eventually be punished. I am not grateful.

12/08/2026: To order, go to the counter. The scannable menu isn't up to date, but it might have been updated after our visit. Otherwise, the atmosphere is great, both visually and aurally, and the manager is very friendly. Go for it!

13/07/2026: Excellent service and friendly baker. Delicious pastries ☺️ (Swiss bread and chocolate chip brioche).

11/06/2026: The food was delicious, but the coffee was terrible. Much too hot. There are two or three seats, but not many more than that.

15/10/2026: Arriving at 8 PM, we had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for a simple plate of charcuterie, and 2 hours after our arrival we finally got our pizza... if you want to eat here, plan your entire evening. I won't be back.

12/10/2026: Simple, good. The staff have a lilting accent and are very pleasant.

31/01/2026: Warning! We went there at lunchtime today only to find it closed. There's no information on their website, yet Google shows it as open. After searching online, we discovered the restaurant went into liquidation at the beginning of January.

06/01/2026: Thank you for notifying us of the closures. We drove through the snow only to be surprised by your closure notice, which was displayed as open. It was a risk for nothing, and there was no follow-up. We are disappointed by the lack of communication with our customers.

21/06/2026: A very beautiful establishment, comfortable room and this place is a little magical and dreamy, an ecological swimming pool, and a garden that invites relaxation, a very friendly manager, however, be careful with the half-board meal, I ordered a dessert (vacherin) which never arrived on my table after 25 minutes and we gave up hope of finishing with a dessert.

15/05/2026: We slept and ate there one evening. The place is very charming and the food was excellent!
