30/10/2026: The service was very bad, my husband ate and after 20 minutes my soup arrived, which wasn't very good either. They took a long time to bring the bill and the whole service was anything but friendly. I wouldn't go back and I don't recommend it.

20/09/2026: During my weekend in Paris, I enjoyed a warm welcome on Friday evening as I stepped off the train and had a drink while waiting for my driver. Returning on Sunday evening before my departure, I ordered a generously filled goat cheese and honey sandwich with delicious bread and a slice of tarte tatin to take on the train. Thank you for your good humor, your helpfulness, and your friendly manner. I will be back on my next visit.

When the weather is nice, we can have a drink on the terrace. We'll definitely be back. This place is recommended for both discerning and less discerning eaters because there's a good variety of French cuisine. The kitchen has apparently recently closed.

23/06/2026: I came with my wife and daughter. Despite the overall rating, we decided to try the first beer. It arrived undrinkable; even the owner admitted it and brought me a lukewarm bottled beer instead. The starter was a semi-cooked foie gras that was foie gras in name only—a raw foie gras, not energized—with an onion molasses. Following that, my wife ordered a scallop dish. It arrived served with chorizo, chorizo ​​sauce, and a kind of gingerbread, also with chorizo. The worst part was that the scallops weren't fresh. As a result, after a few bites, my wife felt really unwell and ended up vomiting in the restroom. We pointed this out to the waitress, who sent over the so-called head chef. He arrived with a plastic container with a label stuck on it, telling us they were still good, but look at the date. A real chef would never have taken seafood out of the cold room and brought it into the dining room in 30-degree heat, let alone opened the container. We got to the till, and I explained that my wife... My wife is 16 weeks pregnant. Barely out of the Tivoli restaurant in Vic-en-Bigorre, she started feeling very unwell: repeated vomiting, shortness of breath, and a headache. We called emergency services (15 in France), who immediately directed us to the emergency room. As a result, she was admitted to the hospital from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., underwent a full examination, received an IV drip, and was under medical observation. The doctor told us it was likely food poisoning. When I pointed out that the dish wasn't good, the cook came out of the kitchen with a simple plastic container holding the raw scallops to show them to me. This scene particularly surprised me. In my opinion, such delicate products shouldn't be handled or presented in this way in the dining room, especially during a heatwave. During our conversation, the owner told us he had personally brought the scallops back that very morning. Upon inspection, we found no refrigerated vehicles belonging to the establishment, only a Peugeot 5008 parked in front. This raised serious concerns about the conditions under which the food was transported and stored. When we inquired about the kitchen staff's qualifications, we were told that everyone was properly trained. Given the circumstances, this response did little to reassure us. The owner offered my wife's meal free of charge, as if the problem were a matter of a few euros, when our sole concern was her health and the risks associated with her pregnancy. Given the seriousness of the situation, I filed a complaint with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the relevant authorities so that the necessary inspections could be carried out and this would not happen again to other customers. I am recounting the events as we experienced them. After several hours spent in the emergency room and the consequences suffered by my pregnant wife, we will never set foot in this establishment again.

04/10/2026: A fantastic culinary experience after our concert, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, impeccable service with a smile. Authentic Lyonnaise cuisine just the way we like it! The added bonus: a pianist who recreated the ambiance of a traditional Lyonnaise restaurant in a unique setting!

13/09/2026: Overall, it was nice. Food was good. Traditional food was good too. We enjoyed “La Porte du Soleil” the best out of all three salads. The Melon salad was good too. “Soupe à l'oignon gratinée au Comté” was really good. We enjoyed the cheese. Vine was good. The boeuf steak was too chewy. We asked to make it well done. They did. The service was great. They were so polite.

11/09/2026: Why, why, why, are there no decent bars in Fontainebleau? Another rotten experience yesterday at the Grand café. Music far too loud to have a conversation, washing up behind the bar was deafening, witnessed waiter going to toilet and not washing hands afterwards, general cleanliness poor, Christmas and St. Valentine’s decorations still up in March, chipped tables and paintwork, no possibility to have hot drink on a cold afternoon. Obviously yet another tourist trap benefitting from the location!

05/09/2026: A butcher who runs a restaurant… I'll let you imagine the atmosphere. The meat is just okay, and the owner is awful. What a shame.

29/08/2026: Just had one of the best Cote de Boeuf I've ever had. It came straight from the on site butchers. Decent price for a steak for 2 people. Well worth it. The starters and wine were great too. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed the vibe. If I'm looking for a Cote de Boeuf again in Paris (which I often am) this will be top of the list.

14/08/2026: The pain au levain is really good, other confections seem decent, I wish they had some more traditional ones like croissants. Service was on the slow end but friendly. Coffee (espresso) mediocre: why bother roasting your own? Lots of space, modern, not a cramped cozy Paris coffee shop (pros and cons on both sides!).

10/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! We stumbled upon this place quite by chance and were warmly welcomed by a very friendly lady. The portions were very generous and the menu offered excellent value for money. Special mention for the aligot sausage. I highly recommend it.

The room was simple and clean. The only downside was the small parking area and the visible rubbish bins right at the hotel entrance.

17/05/2026: We organized a friend's birthday party there. The platters and tapas were delicious, the service was perfect, the atmosphere pleasant, and the place welcoming. We were informed over the phone that it was €25 per person for the evening, including the platters, tapas, etc. There were 10 of us, and we also ordered bottles of wine. When it came time to pay, we were told it was €25 (for the platters and appetizers) plus €25 for the private use of the venue. This information wasn't provided over the phone, nor was the cost of the private use explained. We were disappointed by this. After speaking with the person there, she contacted her manager, who agreed to charge us only €25 for the platters, tapas, etc. We strongly regret not having received this clear information over the phone or on the website, as it's not mentioned anywhere! Despite a pleasant evening and a delicious pre-dinner drink, we will not return there; deceptive business practices are not one of our values.
