05/07/2026: We went to have a coffee at this “cantine” this morning. The short, grumpy female server was beyond rude and the service was slow. The French couple at the table next to us (who were very comedic about the server) said “she is not pleasant or helpful”. Yes, we “only had a coffee” but won’t be going back for that or anything else. Management need to change out this staff member.

06/08/2026: I've never felt so much like a tourist as I did at La Palette on Rue de Seine. What was supposed to be a simple break on the terrace turned into a masterclass in how to squeeze every last penny out of visitors. From the moment we arrived, the service was appalling. The staff refused to give us a menu, preferring to recite the options, even after our repeated requests to see the prices in writing. That alone should have been a red flag. The bill confirmed our worst suspicions: 80 euros for two spritzes, two medium éclairs, and two Coke Zeros. At that price point, you'd expect attentive service, a modicum of transparency, and above-average quality. In reality, we were treated to cold and condescending staff, no transparency regarding prices, and utterly ordinary products. After reading other reviews, it becomes clear that this isn't an isolated incident: the same "no menu, surprise bill" pattern seems to repeat itself whenever non-residents are involved. It feels more like a well-oiled tourist trap than a simple misunderstanding. Paris is full of cafés and bistros where you can pay a fair price, see a proper menu, and be treated with a modicum of respect. La Palette, on Rue de Seine, is clearly not one of them. If you value transparency, decent service, and the feeling of not being treated like a walking credit card, steer clear. I have never felt more blatantly taken advantage of in a Parisian café than at La Palette on Rue de Seine. What should have been a simple afternoon stop turned into a masterclass in how to squeeze every last euro out of tourists. From the moment we sat down, the service was abysmal. A quick look at other reviews shows this is not an isolated incident; the same pattern of “no menu, surprise bill” seems to be a recurring theme for non-locals. It feels far less like an honest mistake and far more like a calculated tourist trap. Paris has countless cafés and bistros where you can pay fair prices, see a proper menu, and be treated with basic respect. La Palette on Rue de Seine is not one of them. If you value transparent pricing, decent service, and not being made to feel like a walking ATM, do yourself a favor and steer clear.

29/06/2026: This is my second time spending time there, and it's always a pleasure. The cocktails are delicious, the food is very good and generous, even the snacks are tasty. The service is very pleasant, not at all incompetent, and super friendly! I highly recommend it.

09/04/2026: A pitiful and deplorable welcome from a jaded and condescending woman. No greeting, no smile, and absolutely no manners. She refused to accept coins without any justification. It's because of people like her that businesses are dying in Nice, and one wonders why tourists aren't spending. What a waste!

03/08/2026: A wonderful experience at this superb brasserie. From the very beginning, the welcome was warm and friendly, the service impeccable, professional, and always with a smile. The food is delicious and plentiful. The desserts are excellent! The manager is very kind. It truly deserves an 11/10! We must say so when things are good! Well done, we will be back!

I left more than half my plate and saw many unfinished plates as I left. Bad first experience, I won't be going back. Expensive for what it is; the quality and service need improvement.

05/06/2026: I entered your restaurant and very politely asked if I could use the restroom. I was even prepared to pay for it. At that moment, there were no other customers in the establishment. The waitress told me there were no restrooms, which I found rather unbelievable, and then advised me to go to the town hall, where there aren't any either. She certainly knew that. I went back to tell her that I found it truly regrettable to treat people this way. She then immediately became aggressive. I have a message for you, Madam: people don't look for restrooms for amusement. When someone is in need, the least you can do is help them when you can. Fortunately, the shopkeepers across the street displayed a completely different attitude, much more welcoming and kind.

29/03/2026: Excellent restaurant right on the slopes. Great daily special: main course and dessert for €22.50, and well-prepared. Friendly service.

24/03/2026: Hello I'm writing a review, which isn't my usual practice, to share my experience. The food was very good and plentiful, BUT the service needs improvement. I called on Wednesday for a 7:30 pm reservation. Once I said 7:30 pm, I was told I had to leave at 9:10 pm for the second seating. I asked if I could call back within 5-10 minutes to confirm the time, as we were a group of 8. They said yes. I called back to say 9:15 pm, and they said okay. On Saturday, we arrived at 9:15 pm. The manager had the nerve to tell me the reservation was for 7:30 pm. I told him I had called back, and he said no. I never spoke to him directly; it was a woman. He even had the nerve to tell me, "Luckily, we're no longer in peak season, there's space available." Making remarks when they're the ones at fault due to a lack of communication between them is pointless. Being nonchalant when you're a restaurant owner is unacceptable. Furthermore, when it came time to pay the bill (since we were four couples, we split it four ways), they forced us to round up even though we didn't want to. It's a small detail, but when we're treated as if we were in the wrong when it's you who are, forcing us to round up for a tip is unacceptable. (I have a photo as proof, which I sent back since, according to them, I didn't.) Avoid this place; there are other restaurants in Isola 2000 with equally good food and a much better welcome.

24/07/2026: Very disappointed with my experience. I had requested a specific sandwich, as I like to choose what I eat, but I was given a different one. The packaging was done very quickly and very poorly: pieces of paper were stuck to the sandwich. In addition, the sandwich has become far too expensive for what it contains. It now costs €5.50, even though there is very little filling, the bread was completely dry, and I felt like there was hardly any sauce. The set menu has gone from €7 to €8.50. Before, for around €7, you got a sandwich, a drink, and a dessert. Now, I don't think the value for money is the same at all. Finally, they didn't even offer me a bag, even though I was taking my order home and had a long journey ahead of me. I had to ask for one myself. I used to come to this bakery very often because a few months ago the sandwiches were €4.90, generously filled, and really good. Now, the quality has dropped considerably while the prices have gone up significantly. Honestly, you might as well make a homemade sandwich: it will be more substantial, tastier, and cheaper. After this experience, I don't know if I'll go back. It's a real shame, because I used to love this bakery.

28/07/2026: Very bad experience We arrived at 6:30 PM and left at 8:30 PM without having paid for and not been served the crepes. The wait was far too long. Absolutely no organization. I do not recommend it. People who arrived after us were served before us, and the waiter wasn't very friendly. My brother-in-law was served before he had finished his charcuterie platter. 16/07/2026: Cocktail with doses that could make a horse fall apart, bar manager who manages her drink more than her customer service with an added dose of bad faith when you make a remark about her dosages, moreover in a professional setting, try to make an effort with your attire thank you I thought I had to wash my eyes with bleach.

25/07/2026: Cool and very friendly service; they even spoke some German. We had a delicious meal and drinks here. The selection is good and the prices are reasonable. The burgers, salads, bruschetta, and mussels were all of excellent quality. We give it a thumbs up.
