26/06/2026: We are five hikers passing through on the GR10. We had an excellent and generous meal at a reasonable price! J.M. is attentive and generous, and gave us great advice for the upcoming stages of the GR10. Top-notch! I highly recommend it.

20/03/2026: The setting is beautiful, and the staff is welcoming. A cloakroom service is available, which is always a nice touch! We weren't disappointed with the food, and the service was very professional. However, a company seminar was taking place nearby… It's a shame these people didn't know how to behave and were making an unimaginable amount of noise! I would recommend it provided no company is present.

02/08/2026: A magnificent view, the café is very unique; the owner or staff were drunk and gave us free drinks, and they weren't too fussy about the bill at the end, but as East Germans, we naturally left a generous tip. We enjoyed the staff's friendly banter, as well as the quick service. The food was good too—not restaurant quality, of course, but not a disaster either, as some of the comments here suggest. Definitely worth a visit!

27/07/2026: The menu shows hot and cold drinks, savory and sweet crepes... But there's no seating on the terrace. "We reserve the seats for people who order crepes." Well, I reserve my money for professionals who know how to welcome customers! After the cold drinks, we might have wanted to stay and eat a crepe... Too bad! There were six of us.

04/05/2026: Terrible, bland food, appalling service by staff who weren't even waiters, a 50-minute wait for a burger and a salad. The quality was nowhere near that of market cuisine; this will be my last time! Thanks for this experience, which I will be sure not to repeat!

03/05/2026: First of all, the restaurant is very beautiful (except for the restrooms, which could be a bit cleaner). The food is as advertised, the service is pleasant, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A perfect restaurant for a family lunch or dinner.

25/05/2026: I stayed at the Campanile Troyes Est - Barberey and, unfortunately, the experience was quite frustrating overall. The main problem was that the hotel's air conditioning compressor was broken, meaning none of the air conditioning units were working. I was informed that the repair wouldn't be completed for at least a week, making the rooms extremely uncomfortable during the hot weather. Under normal circumstances, I would have simply changed hotels, but their cancellation policy essentially locks you out after the first 24 hours unless you opted for a more expensive cancellation option when booking. This detail, in my opinion, wasn't made clear enough at the time of booking. In addition to this, the room had several maintenance issues. The bathroom wall had visible cracks, and the toilet seat remained cracked for the entire first week before finally being replaced during the second week. Another drawback: there is no elevator. If you have heavy luggage, expect to have to carry it up and down stairs. I also had to pay for nights I ultimately didn't use, as I had to leave over the weekend with no possibility of changing or canceling the reservation. The staff were generally polite, but the overall condition of the property, the lack of maintenance, the absence of working air conditioning, and the very rigid booking policy made for a disappointing stay. The Wi-Fi was also very slow and frequently disconnected completely. I highly recommend checking the air conditioning status and carefully reading the cancellation policy before booking, especially during hot weather. Unfortunately, I had a pretty frustrating experience overall. The biggest issue was that the hotel's AC compressor was down, meaning none of the air conditioning units were working. 18/03/2026: If you want to eat lobsters in the mountains... piled on top of each other in a small tank since January... you've come to the right place! Special mention goes to the unpleasant and insensitive owner who compares these conditions to eating beef!

18/03/2026: Very good. However, the live lobsters, literally piled on top of each other in a tiny aquarium, are a sad sight. By comparison, battery-farmed chickens have it made.

03/11/2025: What can I say? Sometimes you have to separate the human element from the culinary aspect. That's why I didn't voice our dissatisfaction directly to the restaurant. We were certainly well received by the staff. However, there was a bit of bad faith involved when the bill arrived. We didn't specify that we were ordering a set menu, but it seems logical: a starter, main course, and dessert constitute a set menu... In culinary terms, I'd like to remind everyone (and any good cook should know this), a cocotte egg is an egg with a runny yolk, not a hard-boiled one. But here, the egg was hard-boiled. The cod, which should be served boneless, was indeed boneless, and quite a lot so... and taste-wise, it was okay, maybe cooked in white wine it could work (I'm no chef :) ). The veal, on the other hand, was a bit dry and fatty for a dish costing over €10. And my apple tart must have come from Metro. I expected much better, especially for a restaurant offering a €30.90 menu! €30.90 for this quality is really unacceptable. I think that by listening to your customers you could significantly improve the quality of your food, because there's definitely potential.

31/10/2025: The service and welcome were very warm. The food, however, did not live up to the aforementioned high standards. When I read the very positive reviews, I wonder if we ate at the same restaurant.

09/07/2026: Brunch at the abbey: a beautiful day in a magnificent setting, a warm welcome, an excellent meal, and excellent desserts. We will be back.

We dealt with the owner who barely looked at us, rolled his eyes when we asked about how we wanted our meat cooked, forgot to bring half of our appetizers, and when we asked for them again after our main courses arrived, he had the nerve to reply: "You should have ordered them earlier!" The food is good and the portions are quite generous, but if this is the kind of service we're going to receive, no thank you.

If you're passing through Carnac, avoid it.

10/04/2026: Avoid at all costs. This caterer is unreliable and has no integrity whatsoever. And above all, do not pay a deposit because this dishonest person will not return it in case of a dispute (knowing that nothing is stipulated about this in the contract, so we had every right to claim what was owed to us). We tried to contact him without success, so I am writing here to warn others who might be scammed. We lost a considerable sum of money that could be used for much more given the current economic climate! I am forced to give one star for this review, however, zero would be better.
