18/01/2026: The arrival was a little disorienting at first, with no one there to greet us. However, a phone number allowed us to get directions quickly. There was a minor electrical issue upon arrival, which was resolved thanks to the very kind help of the neighbors. An unusual but ultimately quite amusing arrival, mainly due to everyone's friendliness. Breakfast is served in the bistro across the street and is excellent, with truly delicious croissants.

However, the service, as I agree with other reviews, wasn't great. We waited a long time for someone to take our order, and we waited a long time for our main courses and desserts. We ate our mussels before my children had already finished their pasta.

26/02/2026: 22 euros for a twisted pastry, a Savoy cross, a hot chocolate, and a cheese baguette to eat in. The food isn't anything special. Dry pastries and viennoiseries, and a hefty markup (apparently based on how much you think you're eating?) if you ask to eat in. The service is very sloppy, rushed, and unfriendly. Tip for future customers: Don't order in, they double the prices. Avoid it!!!

31/05/2026: I came to the restaurant, but as soon as I was greeted, I saw crossed toes, which immediately put me off my food. Another man, barefoot in front of the reception desk, also made me wonder about the quality of the meal. The food was good, except for the tiramisu, which was actually ice cream. The woman should be asked to cover her feet.

31/05/2026: I am extremely disappointed with our stay. We were greeted by the manager; a barefoot manager with questionable humor: indeed, the guests bore the brunt of his rudeness. The cleanliness of the room was more than questionable (odor, cobwebs, stains). However, there were bottled water and a kettle that was only used for heating water, as there was no coffee or tea available. The bathroom was outdated (the faucet was reversed and the shower seals needed replacing). We did not eat there. The price for one night is completely exorbitant considering the setting.

09/08/2026: Ignore the reviews. Food is nice, staff is lovely. Yeah if you come in summer of course it’s busy, they weren’t rude they’re just busy. They did their best, have some humility.

09/08/2026: Ignore the reviews - people who expect the world and get a local and tasty meal. Waiters & waitress’ were lovely, and the food is nice. It won’t change your life but it will sort you out. We ate, played cards and had a few beers. Don’t really know what more you could want

12/08/2026: A couple of years ago, this place was ok to go to, but now it's ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Dirty dishes, a disgusting, nasty waiter who just walked around cursing under his breath (at us? or at other guests who also expressed their dissatisfaction?). They didn't even give us bread with the oysters, and the service is completely nonexistent. Other guests at the next table had a scandal over burnt pizza. This place is a disgrace to Menton.

25/06/2026: Unfortunately, my first negative review here is for Heitz. We stopped by on a Thursday morning, right when they opened, for breakfast on the terrace. Sadly, it's not the first time we've had a bad experience, but this time it really confirmed our impression. The staff was incredibly unpleasant, with cold and almost brutal service (our plates were placed on the table as if they'd been thrown there)... I've never seen such indifference, especially since I was smiling and friendly in return. Given the price of the set menu, which is the same as what you find elsewhere, the quality was frankly disappointing! I honestly felt like I was having a hospital breakfast, it was so sad and careless. I ordered a cappuccino, and given the price, I expected something decent. Instead, it tasted like water with powder. For me, this is clearly the worst bakery in Haguenau: expensive, disappointing, and with rude staff. A real tourist trap and a rip-off for locals too! Avoid it, but hopefully things will change!

01/08/2026: We went in for a coffee before lunch. My husband ordered an espresso, and I asked for a long coffee. It was refused. When I finally decided not to order anything, the manager refused to serve us, claiming that I hadn't ordered anything. We explained that we planned to have lunch at his establishment. His response was, "Have a grenadine or a mint tea!" in a particularly unpleasant, pedantic, and condescending tone. So we went to the neighboring restaurant, Le Perroquet, where we were greeted with a smile. We ate very well there, and I was able to order a long coffee without any difficulty. A disappointing welcome and a clear lack of customer service. We won't be going back.

01/08/2026: Honestly, it was a disaster. The waiter was extremely unpleasant. I ordered a croque monsieur at 6:30 PM, and the waiter coldly replied, "No." I said, "Okay, no big deal, I'll have a sausage sandwich." Instead, I was served a chorizo ​​sandwich, which was a different item on the menu, but nothing like what I ordered. I highly recommend walking 5-10 minutes to find something else.

26/05/2026: Same as the previous comments... Grim... Rude family, nonexistent service... filthy... I'd been going there for years... But now it's fine and I miss the old owners. When you're a business owner yourself, it hurts to see this... To top it all off, a clientele of drug dealers/social cases calmly smoking their joints on the terrace, nobody bats an eye, the street stinks up and there are cigarette butts absolutely everywhere = super pleasant when you live right next door... In short, the Twilight Zone! I prefer to walk a little further and at least there I'm treated properly... 1 star because I can't give 0... since there's absolutely nothing positive to say...

28/04/2026: I'm giving the bare minimum in stars. As a healthcare worker at the establishment, I can attest that the waitress and her so-called supervisor don't open on time and take their time drinking their coffee. Being late, I forgot to say hello, and she reprimanded me in a disapproving tone. The employee and her so-called supervisor lack professionalism towards customers.

19/04/2026: A very bad experience at Relais H. The reception was unacceptable. The person on duty that day was haughty, unpleasant, and clearly disrespectful. No politeness, no help, and an aggressive tone for no reason. This is unacceptable in a place like a hospital, where patients deserve a minimum of respect and consideration. This type of behavior seriously damages the institution's image.

20/07/2026: Avoid this bar; it's a tourist trap. We chose it because we just wanted a drink at lunchtime and didn't want to book a table at a restaurant for it—a mistake on our part. Menus aren't provided to customers to see what the bar offers, nor are prices listed. They refused credit cards (but this is clearly stated, so it wasn't a surprise, although it's very surprising in an establishment that receives so many people in a tourist area, raising serious doubts about the billing). Prices are probably the most expensive in the port area; for example, a 25cl Coke is over €5. No receipt was provided. Opt for other establishments nearby; you won't have any surprises on the bill. And be warned, there's a huge difference in treatment between regulars and tourists, who are treated with the bare minimum.
