29/05/2026: The quality, taste, welcome, and service are in freefall. When the bread and some pastries taste like they've been burned, it explains a lot. Selling a day-old chocolate brioche for €1.90, dry and hard... that's a big NO. So everything is homemade, as you stated, but clearly, business practices and cleanliness aren't for everyone.

22/05/2026: I bought a sourdough loaf, it was very hard. I was really disappointed.

09/08/2026: This snack bar is to be avoided at all costs, even as a last resort. There was absolutely no communication between the woman taking the order and those serving. 4 burgers, 1 pizza, 4 tenders, 1 potato—a complete disaster! The tenders were forgotten, the pizza was barely cooked, the burger was barely recognizable, and the potato was ordered and paid for but didn't exist... Sometimes it's better to offer fewer services but of higher quality. 1 star because it's the lowest possible rating.

15/05/2026: Stayed at the campsite for a week. Honestly, the food is quite good, but the service leaves much to be desired. The servers were completely lost, even clueless. The wait was incredibly long. To top it all off, on the last day, we were told the system had changed and that reservations were now required. They let us in anyway, but after more than 30 minutes, they hadn't even taken our drinks order, so we left. Above all, don't rely on the campsite's app, which is completely unreliable for menus. In short, the food is okay, but everything else was a complete disaster.

03/07/2026: Horrible service and horrible drinks. The only thing this place has going for it are the washrooms.

28/03/2026: Honestly, it's outrageous… I went to a Meetup for a supposedly free French lesson. But when I arrived, the server told me I had to order a drink to participate. The drinks were already expensive, and on top of that, there was a €1.50 event fee. After the lesson, I attended another event for polyglots, and I was asked to order another drink again. In the end, I paid €4.50 for a simple bottle of Cristalline water. They explained that €1.50 was for the teacher and €1.50 for the polyglot event. So, in reality, the lesson wasn't free at all!!

12/12/2025: Friday, December 12, 2025 at 5:55 PM The cashier who served me displayed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. After asking if my order was for takeout (to which I replied yes), she placed my chocolate éclair in a simple bag before carelessly tossing it next to the register. The product was crushed inside. When I politely asked for it to be placed in a box as it should have been, not only did I receive no apology, but the cashier started muttering and complaining while preparing the box. This attitude is unacceptable for an establishment like Paul. I am very disappointed with this experience and, as things stand, I have no desire to return to this location.

23/10/2025: Very disappointed. Beyond the fact that it's expensive, you still have to pay the extra-expensive supplements for butter and jam, and because we eat too. Last time for us at Paul Thionville Leclerc.

10/05/2026: When the best things about dinner are the owner's German skills and the bottle of mineral water. Unbelievable. The steak was tough, the perch a few slivers of something, and the salad was definitely fresher a week ago. Next time, read the reviews beforehand. I'll have a shot of schnapps afterward, since I don't know if the kitchen is cleaner than the toilets 🫣

09/05/2026: Dinner on the terrace. Before we sat down, the person who greeted us (the restaurant manager) assured us that the terrace was non-smoking. However, he took the liberty of smoking several cigarettes on the terrace while we were seated. To make matters worse, his assistant was doing the same. Royal omelet, salad, and fries (€13.50). The fries weren't properly cooked. Sea bream fillet with Provençal sauce and ratatouille (€15.90). The ratatouille was definitely canned. The sea bream fillet was small and overcooked. No bread was served with the meal. We asked for a carafe of water, which never arrived. Only the coffee was very good. The very few customers that evening should have been a warning sign.

08/07/2026: When it's very hot and they refuse to serve me a little water with my coffee (for some flimsy excuse), I find that truly pathetic. I won't be back and I won't recommend this establishment. First and last time!!

24/02/2026: Some people really should retire if they're going to serve customers like this!!! But when you're the boss, you do what you want. It's a shame, the place is nice.

26/07/2026: Tourist trap; no outdoor seating available for lunch. The food is several days old and microwaved. The waitress/cook wasn't very friendly. Avoid it for a meal, or only for a glass of wine—there are plenty of other options.

11/04/2026: Laurent and Karine are very pleasant, and once they feel comfortable with their clients (who have already been assaulted), they are two extraordinary people. Thank you to them for their hospitality.

04/02/2026: This is my third time here, and it will be my last. I agree with the other comments about the frosty reception and the feeling of being a nuisance just to buy cigarettes. I'd be better off going somewhere else.

27/07/2026: Absolutely awful, avoid this place at all costs. I've never left a Google review before, but our afternoon of sightseeing in Wissembourg was ruined by trying to have a snack at what was supposed to be a pastry and chocolate shop. The window display is nice, and that's about it. It's crucial that people know to never set foot in this place again. The service is appalling. We were forbidden from eating there unless we ordered a drink (there's no indication of this), and I'm not even mentioning the exorbitant prices of their products, which aren't even good. A chocolate-caramel cake is actually a coffee cake. A chocolate mousse is, to them, just ganache surrounded by cake. And they were surprised when I asked for chocolates without fruit or alcohol. On top of all that, they forced us to buy drinks without providing restrooms. It's inhumane and unacceptable.

09/05/2026: A terrible experience at this crêperie on the Quai du Vieux-Port. The waitress literally threw the cutlery onto the table, without even setting it properly or providing napkins. The coffee glass was stained with lipstick, clearly unwashed. The coffees were served after the crêpes, and to top it off, they were cold. After pointing out the problem to the manager, she took back the two coffees, and then we waited a very long time before receiving fresh ones in clean cups. Non-existent service, no attention to the customer, disastrous organization. A place to avoid.

22/04/2026: 8 euro for a “panini” that has a slice of deli chicken and grated cheese that’s not even melted properly…

07/07/2026: Worst McDonald's ever. 1. Half the sauces were missing from the main order. 2. With the second order (2 x McFlurry Daim and Chocolate + 2 Macarons), both McFlurrys were missing the chocolate sauce, and the two macarons were simply omitted because the cafe had just closed and only the restaurant was open. Arguing was pointless—there was no chocolate sauce—but at least after about 10 minutes of being ignored, I got my money back for the macarons.
