17/07/2026: We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we can't quite understand them. When we arrived, the tables weren't clean; the previous guests' food was still on them. This was the case on almost all the tables. Even later in the evening, the one waiter struggled to keep up, and the previous guests' food wasn't cleared until new guests arrived. We even had to ask him directly to get more drinks. The food was okay. Unfortunately, we found it very garlicky. Some people like that, but we felt it was too much. The single restroom for everyone was absolutely unacceptable. That's simply not on. Furthermore, we waited an hour for our appetizer after ordering, and the main course was no exception. We waited another 30 minutes for that one too. One small thing that bothered us was the lighting. There were only very bright, cold white LED spotlights. There was no trace of a romantic atmosphere.

20/07/2026: Delicious canelés! I recommend trying them. I don't usually like canelés, but these are excellent in terms of taste and texture.

18/07/2026: A historic macaron shop in Saint-Émilion with a tradition said to date back around 400 years. Unlike the colorful filled macarons most people know today, which are Parisian-style macarons, these are made in a much older and simpler style. Since the price difference between package sizes is relatively small and these particular macarons are difficult to find elsewhere, buying a larger box may be worthwhile. They keep reasonably well when refrigerated, but they are best enjoyed soon after purchase, while the outside is still slightly crisp and the inside remains soft and moist.

08/07/2026: Excellent find. A huge selection, yet exceptional quality. The foie gras was sublime, the fish soup excellent, and the lamb shank to die for. The service was very pleasant. I highly recommend it.

The owner is kind and welcoming! I'm not sure I'd go there again, but if you happen to be passing through, it's the perfect place!

09/07/2026: Lovely country terrace. Warm welcome. Ideal for those who love grilled meats, but there are some nice options for those who only enjoy fish and vegetables. The parsley-seasoned razor clams were delicious. Excellent foie gras. The rum baba was a good dessert.
