09/01/2026: We wanted to try onion soup and didn’t really know what to expect. Turned out it was pretty good and we loved it. The waiter was friendly, though there was a bit of confusion when he added a tip without informing us, which we know it is not compulsory in France or Europe in general. We asked about it and he refunded the difference. Not sure if it was intentional or just a pure mistake. Overall, we had a good dining experience.
03/01/2026: My wife and I loved this place ! We both had the roast duck breast . We intend to return the next time we go to Paris. On our last visit in October we did not have enough time . It’s in a nice area too. Staff was very friendly. Other diners were relaxed and friendly as well.

21/11/2024: Exceptional service!!! The waiter explained each dish and how it was to be consumed for the best taste and experience for each course. Definitely a journey and experience of exceptional quality of food. Both delicious, and a treat for the palate and the eye.
20/11/2024: Unprofessional and casual service. Very average cuisine with a problem with the seasoning of the dishes (too much or not enough salt). I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

26/11/2025: I was very disappointed with my experience at La Pomme d’Ève last Saturday during the Springboks vs. Ireland and then France vs. Australia matches…
I’d been going there for years, thinking I knew the manager, George, at least a little, and I never imagined I’d experience anything like this.
A minor altercation broke out with a group who had been there for several hours, over a simple misunderstanding about seating. Nothing serious. The misunderstanding could have ended there.
However, George intervened, shouting at me as if I were a troublemaker, even though he wasn’t even trying to understand the situation.
I was treated with completely disproportionate aggression, without anyone bothering to listen to me, even though I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time.
At the end of the evening, I calmly went to tell him that his attitude had offended and surprised me. He replied that he was tired… and, more importantly, that the group in question had spent nearly €500. This clearly suggests that in this establishment, understanding and loyalty aren't what matter, but rather the amount spent.
I now understand the reviews mentioning the pressure to make customers buy things as soon as they enter: I, too, had the unpleasant feeling that money comes before everything else. For me, this experience was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had with a business.
I don't think I'll be going back to this place, as the disappointment is too great.

21/10/2025: Starters and desert were excellent, but the main course lacked sophistication in terms of taste, though the presentation was beautiful. Wine list is reasonably priced with a few good bottles. Staff is cheerful and nice. Weather was bad so couldnt enjoy the outdoor patio, inside the restaurant it's nice but nothing special either.
18/10/2025: Today, 18 oct 2025, we have 1 birthday party in this restaurant with 10 family members, we are disapointed in this place a lot, the food were terrible and the sevices is terrible also. They changed another owner, and the new owner did so bad, I dont like them anymore.

02/01/2026: We would have loved to try your crepes, which seem to have excellent reviews.
Unfortunately, we were turned away because we have a very friendly little dog (a dachshund). It would be simpler to put a sign on your door saying "No dogs allowed": it would be easier for everyone. We wouldn't waste our time, and it would avoid inconveniencing you.
We've been to several restaurants (some with the same layout as yours), and this is the first time we've been refused entry due to lack of space. The table you offered me, before I mentioned the dog, was perfectly positioned.
If I could give you a zero, I would gladly do so. I wish you a wonderful 2026... without a dog, especially.

31/08/2025: We went there for my mom's birthday. Very good address. The dishes are very good. The food is homemade. Thanks also to the two waitresses who took great care of us. Good discovery. Thanks again to the whole team and a special word to the cook because the food was really excellent.

(Spider pork, normally eaten grilled, served in a creamy stew...) runny panna cotta... mixed!!!

I came on Sunday afternoon, June 15th, to buy two gifts at the store at 34 rue St. James.
I'm writing to you because I'm very skeptical... and very jaded...
When I went through the checkout,
I clearly stated that I needed two gift packages for two birthdays.
They showed me a nice pink and white package, which I paid for, but they had already charged me.
Then, oh no, finally, if it's for two different little girls, Okay, let's separate the gifts.
The first, a kind of transparent white envelope... the saleswoman apologizes, okay.
The second is a mug in a square package. She takes out a brown envelope, puts the package inside—which is too big for the envelope—cuts off the top, and puts a sticker inside. I'm perplexed... I honestly allow myself to say to her:
"Well, it's average, it's for a little girl's birthday,
it doesn't look very birthday-like
and the package...is a bit ugly, you know"...(without malice, with a little smile, tilting her head a little to the side and inviting her to think, that kind of attitude)
At that, she, very offended,
tells me that I'm mean, that it's not nice at all of me...that she's going to the extra trouble to make me this package and that she doesn't have to do it...
(No kidding???
Should I have gone into raptures???)
And insisting several times, without listening to me, that I don't want to give it like that, nor in front of other mothers. At one point, I got annoyed when the young lady retorted that, and I quote:
"Generally, people come to us, buy a gift, then go to h**a to buy some gifts and make their own."
At that point, her colleague arrived and took over, which I thought was great.
But she decided to side with her without listening to me either.
Tired, I asked for a refund.
In the end, they gave me the lovely gift I'd originally given.
I left with my children, with a very annoyed "Have a nice Sunday," which says it all... plus comments behind my back as I left...
Very unpleasant. Frankly, I was furious.
My message to the manager, and perhaps to these two people who didn't understand where they worked.
It's a suggestion... You can do what you want with it:
When you're a store like yours, with the name you want to forge,
a strong and recognizable identity,
based on sharp and stylish choices:
YES, people expect to receive a gift package from your store, and in the image of your store.
The mindset of your customers who take the trouble to come to your store, on a side street off the main roads, is this:
I didn't buy a gift in a hurry somewhere else between two errands while buying milk and laundry detergent.
I took the time for these little girls, to go to the right place,
to look for gifts for them, personalized, with a beautiful package that I'll be happy to give them.
Through this gift, we show that we didn't go to any ordinary store.
And we pay a little more than elsewhere for that. Also:
That we go to a local store, not a chain store.
But above all, when we pay a premium price for an item that's "above the price" at your store, YES we expect to be listened to and well received with a well-packaged item.
As for the young lady, it would be good to avoid the comments and go to the competitor's store if I'm there...and to be honest with myself.
I came to your store to be received with care. There you go, I really wanted to explain to you the impact of such a sale.
I took the time to write you this message.
I'm giving it one star for this mishap.
The store itself is worth 5 stars.
But despite everything, after this experience, it gives:

A very enjoyable experience. One small drawback: the Bourgueil red wine was served cold, so it's best avoided.
