17/06/2026: If there's no one on this terrace when the others on Place Carnot are packed, there's a reason… Don't even think about sitting down before going to the bar to order! You'll have to deal with the owner, who will force you to get up to order. A real creep, the likes of which you've never seen. With a guy like that in defense for the French national team, you wouldn't concede a single goal. Besides being unpleasant, and with his Lucky Luke-esque gait, he spends his time not serving customers, but shuffling his chairs and tables a few centimeters by dragging them along the ground. It's impossible to have an uninterrupted conversation. This was followed by a security patrol to tighten every bolt on each chair on his beloved terrace! My thoughts are with the waiter inside, who seemed super cool. I'm planning to start a lychee fundraiser in anticipation of this horrible person's future victims.

17/06/2026: If you enjoy having a drink in a construction site atmosphere, go for it, guys. The owner in the hat provides the sound effects himself by screwing the chairs together while serving... He's also saving energy... The owner in the hat adds a touch of mystery... but unfortunately, not a good mood!

28/06/2026: The "chocolate" cake (which turned out to be lemon) must have been a week old. It was bone dry. Inedible. We threw it away.

27/06/2026: I feel like this place is always open, very convenient for us. Also they have the best baguette in the area and staff is friendly.

06/08/2026: Nice place, good atmosphere. Cocktails are too expensive at 15 euros.

05/08/2026: we had tickets and they told us we cant come in and turned around. i think they sell more tickets than the capacity dont go there. they treated other people very badly by just ignoring them and they just suddenly push outside for reason (they were all girls so it doesnt depend on looks or gender). we didnt argue that much cus the event from outside looked so cheap. have never seen this before it's crazy.

21/10/2025: Never seen anything like it. Nonexistent service, sloppy cooking, no consideration for the customer. Scalding hot, overcooked, limp prawns, thrown unpeeled on two wilted salad leaves—it was supposed to be prawn salad. Seriously? The kids' menu? An insult. Nothing good, everything is greasy and full of oil, not even the bare minimum. We ended up laughing about it, but in hindsight: a sandwich bought in a bakery, facing the sea, would have been a feast compared to this. Move on. There are much better options—everywhere else.

19/10/2025: Very disappointed... a sharing platter... or not! Only enough for one person for €19! The monkfish tail with chorizo, cooked on the griddle, was burnt and tiny for €20. The children's menu of chicken and fries... as well-cooked as the fish, which came with an ice cream stick. €13... a bit steep! The table was wobbly and the chairs uncomfortable... despite having a reservation, we ended up with chairs and tables pushed aside (which is a shame). Luckily, the rosé was good! 🤣

18/05/2026: Absolutely terrible, but I have to give it one star to leave a review. You'll understand! Our Booking.com reservation for the Herring Festival weekend was cancelled at 12:18 PM...!!! On the very day of our arrival. The reason: temporarily closed on the day of our arrival. We went to the hotel to find out what was going on. The owner's explanation, delivered with incredible audacity, was that bedbugs were only found in two rooms during cleaning. Not before! And in no other rooms! We'll leave any future customers, regulars, and Booking.com to ponder this! As for us, locals from Rouen, who go to this fantastic festival every year and stay in many hotels booked partly through Booking.com for our trips in France, Europe, and abroad, we completely understand the mindset and strategy of this establishment located in the city center. Too bad for us, and good for the two who booked directly. We absolutely do not recommend it and we're definitely forgetting about this establishment. Avoid it.

11/05/2026: We had a problem upon arrival; we hadn't realized that key collection wasn't until 5 pm. We arrived at 1 pm, and the owner immediately found a solution so we could get ready for our event. She was incredibly kind from beginning to end, thank you again. The only slight drawback was that the rooms were extremely cold; the tiles were icy. Apart from that, my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect, next to the beach and the train station. We were able to take a short walk on the beach before leaving, which was very pleasant.

04/02/2026: I stayed two nights, one of which was for business. The hotel is in a state of disrepair, really... it's completely dilapidated. Everything is old, almost abandoned. The feeling the hotel gives us is that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" They don't want to make a big deal out of it, like, "We know, but that's just how it is." For example, at breakfast, I witnessed a guest complaining that the coffee machine wasn't making cappuccino (but some kind of drink that was half water, half... who knows what), and the hotel employee replied, "Yes, that's true, but nobody ever asks for cappuccino anyway." For my part, I noticed that the Nutella expired in January 2026, and it's February 4th... Basically, the whole hotel is like that! The general feeling is one of "it's still passable"... You can't really say it's dirty, but why dust it? It's not broken, it's still functional, so why repair it? The walls are still standing, so why repaint them (or fill the holes)? The maintenance worker must be in jail 😂 That said, the hotel is quiet, all the staff are very polite, the heating works, the water is hot, and there are no bedbugs!! That's something, at least! I'm almost sorry to leave such a review and photos, because there's real potential. It's such a shame. Please do something! A fresh coat of paint on all the walls would be a good start.

17/12/2025: The room was outdated, nothing like the photos on the website, and poorly insulated. The meal cost €30, which was okay 🤷🏻‍♂️, not worth €20, but you have to take what you can get. However, the staff were very unfriendly, even downright rude. The two female guards last night were like prison guards. If they're not happy in their jobs, the customers aren't to blame. Otherwise, everything went well.

25/07/2026: The gentleman who served us was very kind and welcoming, thank you to him. However, the lady was unfortunately very unpleasant, which spoiled our experience. It's a shame, because the place is lovely.

18/07/2026: A very disappointing experience. The manager is particularly unpleasant and speaks to customers in a disrespectful manner. You feel constantly watched, as if everything you do is being observed and judged. This makes you absolutely not want to return. The female manager is a bit more cheerful, but the overall welcome remains rather lukewarm. The ice cream is good, but the prices are truly excessive for what is offered. We had bought sandwiches from the bakery located a little further up in the village and planned to eat them on the terrace while having ice cream and drinks, in order to support several local businesses. In the current climate, supporting the village shops seemed like a positive step. Unfortunately, we were subjected to a series of unpleasant remarks. In short: a deplorable welcome that completely ruins the experience. We will not be returning and do not recommend this establishment.

13/07/2026: This place is practically unsanitary! Flies and ants are everywhere in the food containers, the bread and cookies are undercooked, unlike what you'd find at other franchises. This place needs an urgent inspection!

03/07/2026: Mariam and Anzi, the two girls, were super friendly and very welcoming, always smiling. Thank you so much for your hospitality and keep up the good work.

13/08/2026: Despite the negative reviews, we had a great time at Le Petit Creux! We came for cocktails, and honestly, they weren't that expensive for the neighborhood and were quite good! The real highlight was definitely the waiter, who was both funny and positive. So, for us, the experience was fantastic!

13/08/2026: Avoid at all costs! We came as a family after a long visit to Montmartre. Exhausted from holding it in, we used the restroom, which, admittedly, was in a deplorable state. It smelled bad and hadn't been cleaned. At first glance, the staff seemed welcoming, but appearances can be deceiving. When it came time to order, we saw other customers around us starting to leave without ordering. So we went on Google to check the reviews and immediately understood that this wasn't a good place to eat in Montmartre. We decided to leave, and that's when one of the waiters stopped us and said, "You used the restroom? That's €2 per person." When we went to the restroom, there was no sign indicating that it was €2 per person. They are truly SCAMMERS WITH NO CUSTOMERS. They then tried to make us feel guilty by implying that they had held up other customers for us. Actually, the restaurant was empty (given its reputation...). Don't go there and go to a sandwich shop instead; it's much better. I recommend a restaurant called "Les Grenouilles" (The Frogs), run by two brothers. They make excellent raclette and Parisian sandwiches. We ate there after fleeing that disgusting place.

22/07/2026: I went to this bakery and was very disappointed by the service. The elderly woman who greeted us was very unpleasant; she didn't seem interested in serving us and spoke to us disrespectfully. She appeared annoyed to be receiving customers and looked at us in a very unsettling way. This behavior is truly unfortunate, as a friendly welcome is essential in a business. I hope this situation will not be repeated for future customers.

22/07/2026: A very bad experience at this bakery. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were bothering them. The saleswoman was cold, unwelcoming, and spoke in an unpleasant tone. She seemed annoyed at having to serve us and gave us uncomfortable looks. It's regrettable to be received this way when you're simply there to buy bread or pastries. I hope the service improves, as it really gives the bakery a bad impression.

08/04/2026: The appearance is reasonably okay. You have to do the service yourself, so there isn't any. The food is inedible and everything looks like food for your dog !!!!! And on top of that, it's expensive; naturally, for dog food, it's not okay.

07/04/2026: The portions aren't the same every day. I had diots two days in a row; the first day I had two, the second day only one. !!!

13/06/2026: Honestly this was the only place where I had a bad experience as a tourist on a recent trip. Spotted this little bar and thought it would be the perfect spot for a drink by the river in the sunshine. Went and ordered a glass of champagne, not bad price at 8 euro - they asked me to pay cash, I thought maybe the card machine wasn’t working so gave a 10 euro note, they kept the change…!! And a few minutes later I saw them offer the card machine to another customer so obviously it was working and they just ripped me off. The glass of champagne was tiny BUT at least it was cold and I got to sit by the river for a bit admiring the views. Nonetheless wouldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t go back.

04/04/2026: Very nice place at the waterside, nice in the sun! Dont take the wine it is in paper cups, but the special beers is nice cold in the bottles! Acceptable pricee
