11/04/2026: Excellent restaurant. Quality, quantity, presentation: nothing to complain about. Welcoming staff. Beautiful setting, away from the main road, with a lovely terrace for sunny days. The seats in the restaurant are well-spaced, unlike in a cafeteria. I highly recommend it.

24/04/2026: Right next to the Russian consulate, which we visit regularly, easy parking, and above all, a chance to enjoy a pleasant moment around well-set tables and avoid Strasbourg city center, which is a real nightmare to navigate.

20/04/2026: We were greeted by Lucille and her smile, then the excellent service was provided by Sahra, and the pear tart was delicious. I recommend this establishment.

22/04/2026: Hotel opposite Lyon Part-Dieu train station, on the tram and Rhône Express side. It's not visible during the day because it's behind a building facade. At night, the illuminated sign guides you. However, if you go straight ahead, in the middle, you'll definitely find it. Comfortable bedding... the only downside is that the pillows are a bit too large for my liking. The Chromecast on the TV is a plus. Clean room. Quiet environment, perfect for a good night's sleep and rest. The breakfast is really varied and good. The elevator is secured by the room key card contact.

17/01/2026: We visited Restaurant L'Essentie last night with our good friends and neighbours Francois and Valerie to belatedly celebrate the New Year. At the end of the festive season he might think one celebration too many, but Pauline and her husband who is the chef never disappoint and served up a truly fantastic dinner to start 2026. Salmon en croute with mushrooms and Cavalo Nero cooked with incredible imagination and to finish pears poached in red wine with cream and toasted hazelnuts fantastic. Definitely the best restaurant around, if you’re looking for a quiet intimate place to enjoy master cooking we’re friends and family.

The setting is full of charm, typically warm and welcoming, perfect for sharing a good meal in a friendly atmosphere. The service is attentive, friendly, and very professional. The dishes are generous, tasty, and prepared with quality products—true local cuisine, just the way we like it! An inn well worth the detour: authenticity, deliciousness, and good humor are all there. We will definitely return! The owner is very business-oriented; congratulations on your professionalism. 27/08/2025: At the beginning of summer, I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with my family. The owner was very friendly, and we enjoyed a long chat with her during our visit. The menu looked absolutely delicious. Each dish featured local ingredients. I personally enjoyed a succulent goat cheese and honey salad with seasonal vegetables and goat cheese from a producer near Vals—it was divine. In short, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vals; it's well worth the trip.

01/05/2026: The service was truly appalling. One has to wonder why anyone would choose this profession if they clearly dislike interacting with customers. The waitress was unpleasant, and even asking a simple question about how the food would be cooked or what side dish you wanted seemed to bother her. As for the food, while the prices are certainly low, the quality reflects that. Frozen ribeye steak served with large, un-homemade fries, crispy salmon, and vegetables swimming in water… it's hard to imagine anything worse. Only the desserts (panna cotta and profiteroles) offered a slight improvement. In short, a very bad experience. We've tried other, much better restaurants in Souillac—this one is definitely one to avoid.
