24/05/2026: I was served pastries (pain au chocolat and croissant) that were completely stale. They were inedible. One more star for the Basque cake, which was good, but a small portion for the price.

29/06/2026: The food was great for a quick easy pizza night. The waitress was not pleased to help but was not rude. She was fine the man who runs the market and bar was nice but definitely had to use the translator. Need bug spray for mosquitos. The bakery in the morning you can only take away chocolate croissant or croissant. But if you arrive when they open they’re hot! Quick easy stop if you are walking driving distance before heading out for the day…

08/04/2026: Hello, We made a reservation, but upon arrival, we were told NO DOGS ALLOWED! Our friend, who had eaten at this establishment before, ate at a table with a dog! We asked to be seated outside on the terrace: refused, they said it was all taken! Except there were four tables and dozens of others folded up. When you're a business owner, all you need is the will! But this isn't a restaurant! It's run by the South Nivernais Community of Municipalities, not a manager! So this is where our taxes go, with people who don't care whether you eat or not! So avoid this place at all costs, because it's not worth your time! Put it under management and it will cost us much less! And look at Italy and our canine friends!

13/06/2026: A fantastic experience, a village just the way we like them. Peaceful and incredibly charming. The Auberge Pierre Bayle was a real find. We ordered à la carte. It was truly a delight. Refined cuisine, a feast for the eyes (a presentation worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant), impeccable service, a chef who loves what he does, and it shows in the food. We were even offered coffee—a lovely touch. If you're looking to discover a restaurant and enjoy a peaceful moment with an exceptional view of the Pyrenees, this is the place for you. I highly recommend it. Thank you. There are still passionate people out there.

23/06/2026: It has now been four years since your establishment's air conditioning system was last operational. Despite your repeated assurances that it has been repaired, it is clear that this is not the case. Three possibilities present themselves: either your technician declared a fictitious repair—which would constitute fraud—or the work was never completed, or you are deliberately choosing not to operate it. In any case, the situation is unacceptable. Temperatures measured between 28 and 31°C represent a real health risk, particularly for vulnerable individuals, regardless of heat waves. This is not a matter of comfort; it is a matter of safety. I remember a time when this equipment worked perfectly. It is still in place, but clearly not maintained—like many other things in this establishment, unfortunately. A quick reminder: The manager has a general obligation of safety towards their customers (Article L. 421-3 of the French Consumer Code). If the heat endangers the health of members, the gym owner may be held civilly or criminally liable in the event of serious illness. If the temperature makes exercise impossible, the user can request the cancellation of their membership without penalty (or its suspension) for "legitimate reasons" (the gym's failure to properly fulfill its contractual obligations). Gym employees can exercise their right to refuse to work or alert the labor inspectorate if the employer does not provide fresh water and adequate ventilation/cooling systems. Legal aspects: Article L. 421-3 of the Consumer Code. The rule: The manager has a general obligation of safety. Exercising in temperatures of 28°C or higher presents a foreseeable risk of illness and dehydration. Mandatory inspections: Air conditioning: Articles R. 224-45 to R. 224-45-9 of the Environmental Code. A complete inspection by a professional is mandatory every 5 years (large systems > 70 kW) or every 2 years (systems from 4 to 70 kW). Ventilation: Article R. 4222-20 of the French Labor Code + Departmental Health Regulations. Verification of fresh air flow rates and cleaning of filters are mandatory annually.

28/06/2026: A lovely discovery this Sunday at lunchtime. We received a very warm welcome, I believe from the manager (Mohamed). He kept us laughing throughout the meal, and it's thanks to him that we had such a good time. The waitress who served us was very friendly, smiling, and professional. The dishes we chose were very good and of high quality. The prices are therefore reasonable. We will gladly return to try other things.
