15/07/2026: We had the three-course lunch for €25 and were absolutely delighted. The food was a first-class culinary experience that we hadn't expected at such a reasonable price. You can sit outside right by the river, either under a roof or parasols. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive.
04/07/2026: Having an extra server would prevent a wait of over 20 minutes before our aperitif orders were taken. Otherwise, no complaints about the meal.

01/08/2026: This place is over hyped for what it is, sure it is in a bustling area with a good vibe but the food was completely forgettable. The fish lacked flavour and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was frozen. It took around 30-40 mins for a table and it definitely wasn’t worth it. There are plenty of other good restaurants around Cour Julian with a similar vibe so I would recommend going to one of those instead, yes they may not be as hyped on social media, but I guarantee they will serve better food.
01/08/2026: Let me tell you the truth no one else is telling you. The food is okay at best. Dont bother with the squid it’s over cooked and bland. Octopus is okay but lacked flavour. The potatoes were soggy. The fried fish with aioli was the only thing worth getting but it was super salty. The vibes are good and the prices are good. But I left feeling unsatisfied with a thirst in my mouth because of how salty the fried fish was. After waiting 35 mins for a table it just wasn’t worth it.

Side dishes with fermented wild garlic... extremely strong garlic flavor!!
You can't choose your dishes (unheard of!)
And the à la carte prices are outrageous: €42 for a tiny medallion of pollack!

25/08/2026: We had a fantastic experience at Restaurant L’Étale in Morzine! The pizzas were incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with great care. What really made the visit special, though, was the staff — everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, with amazing service throughout.
A lovely atmosphere, delicious food, and genuinely wonderful people. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend L’Étale to anyone visiting Morzine!
